Vintage Tube Amp

Up for sale here is this vintage Harman Kardon Citation II tube amplifier. This is in pretty good shape, with light to moderate overall wear and a bit of missing paint on the transformers. This has been updated to some extent by a previous owner. It has test points on the back instead of the meter, has a few new electrolytic caps underneath, and has some orange drop caps as well. This has been modified to run 7199 tubes in V1 and V4 positions instead of the original 12BY7s. I have no idea why, but this had 7199s in those sockets when I got it. The previous owner told me this was rewired to a Dynaco Stereo 70 circuit, with some new caps and new boards. This has 1/4 jacks on the back instead of RCA jacks–I don’t know why. I was told that this worked fine, but I turned it on and only got music out of the right channel. The left channel had a very faint hum. I’m sure it’s something minor, but either way, I’d recommend fully rebuilding this with updated circuitry. All tubes are included, and are untested but seem to work fine. Output tubes are Russian KT-88s. 12BY7s are vintage USA tubes, and the 7199s are one Russian and one USA. This includes the bottom cover but does not have a top cage/cover, sorry. The power cord is in good shape. The previous owner noted that some of the caps had been updated but that they had not set the bias or AC balance voltages. I do not know how good the modifications on this are, so I would suggest a complete rebuild on this–caps, tube sockets, etc. What you see is exactly what you get. I will guarantee the transformers to be good, but I do not feel this is ready for day-to-day use. Lease see my pictures for details. If you have any questions, please ask.
