Vintage Tube Amp

Up for grabs is this original vintage 1962 Fender Tremolux tube head. As in many cases, the head has been separated from the original piggy back cabinet. Overall, the head is in good condition, but has had some modifications. The Tremolux still has all of the original transformers/chokes, which date this amp to 1962. The filter and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced, but the original caps will be included in the sale. The handle has also been replaced with a new OEM brown Fender handle and the power cable has been upgraded to a 3-prong cable. The previous owner did a mod to essentially bypass the normal channel, which is not too uncommon. Most people, including myself, typically only use the bright channel anyway to take advantage of the tremolo and/or reverb when applicable. The normal channel volume knob now seems to act like a master volume for the bright channel. This amp is equipped with older RCA preamp and power tubes. The amp sounds very good as is, but can always easily be reverted back to original specs by a competent tech. These early’60s Fender amps are becoming harder to find, especially in working condition.
