Vintage Tube Amp

Allow me to introduce myself. I have been involved in retail sales for over 40 years, the largest portion, of these years, having been my own successful retail auto sales / parts / repair business, which I started from scratch. So that the problem can be resolved. Trader-BOB’s MUSIC offers a nice little Spiegel Model 79C electric guitar tube amp. 3 active tubes, (1) 6SJ7, (1) 6V6GT, (1) 5Y3, and a multi capacitor can, on/off volume switch combined. Pot cleaned and lubed, all 5 paper capacitors replaced. Jensen ALINCO 5 speaker, professionally reconed, by Speaker Works in Fort Wayne IN. Grounded 3 wire plug / cord was installed when I got it. Has the number “5483″ ink stamped on it. Grill mesh, with music notes, in good shape. Pix#10, is of the full chassis, pix #11 is of the area that 4 of the 5 caps were replaced. The two bright orange ones, . 05 mfd – 600 volt, and the black & silver (22mfd, to replace 25 mfd-35volt) canister style ones. The fifth cap replaced, (seen in pix #10, right hand side) runs between the chassis ground, and live side of the fuse holder. This one is MIA in my trash can, and is absent from the pix #12. I removed the power-on light bulb to see if I can locate a replacement. I found a replacement bulb, (28v), works but a little dim. Probably requires a lower voltage bulb, but I got what I could get. Works great, does have a slight hum, volume sensitive. Maker unknown, possibly, Kay, Harmony, Valco, Danelectro, Supro, Magnetone, or maybe someone else. Have seen this style chassis in other amps.
