Vintage Tube Amp

HEREs a rare lil bird, it’s a orpheum tube amp, also badged univox.. 64-5 has single great Britain vintage EL 84 and pre amps 12 ax7, s n rectifier is a vintage ez81.. Thing has footswitch trilogy that’s got speed n rate type controls, anazibg sounding tremolo, great lil old tube amp… I was told it was probably valco made.. Anyone w info I can add pls send it.. Orig spkr was dried n split.. W univox instead orpheum.. All caps seem orig, voiced w ceramics n mica, n pop caps, n is pretty quite on idle , despite its orig 2 prong cord…. S early Asis n is roughly 55 yrs old.. Has fender 12spkr….. I have orig light alnico spkr.. I’m caregiving my elderly sick mom in Fla… Amp been at her place for long while…. Great to mic n use in a studio like tool for tones ya can only get from these sleeper amps…. Since in all way in south Fla… Hope this goes to good handy home… Def unique lil amp.. Plywood n pine cab it seems… Def not thick like a super reverb… This was a bedroom amp… And seems like a time machine looking inside…. Will be boxed well n carefully. Has controls as follows 1-VOL. 2-TONE & 3-SPEED 4-STRENGTH nice for age faceplate all clean no pitting, has cool adjustable eye light, looks like hazard design when open full can see light on in few tip pictures… When alot when into thought of these amps. S yes it is a 12 speaker w plywood baffle n front.. Lafayette, valco, don’t our homework it’s a rare one I see that. Thus be great amp to copy n male your own. Now lil amps are being mic, d more n more to get them unique tones of yesteryear. Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb, very original and freshly serviced. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb was produced early in the second full year of production, with a “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate, rare no logo grill, and date codes spanning the last weeks of the Pre-CBS era and subsequent buyout. Stocked with a matched pair of fresh JJ 6V6 power tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has a sweet, balanced sound that delivers the top end sparkle and clarity characteristic of the best amps from Fender’s Blackface era. This amp is very dynamic, working as a perfect platform for effects pedals and while the treble response can twang with the best, there’s a smoothness to the top end that keeps the amp from ever sounding harsh. Turning it up past 4 on the volume dial, the amp begins to push into overdrive territory with light compression and plenty of sizzle. The Reverb is very lush with long decay and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit is very original and only serviced as strictly necessary to ensure optimal playability. All of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps intact in the preamp (an essential part of the Blackface sound), and all of the original CTS pots are intact as well, dating to late’64. The original Schumacher transformers span late’64 and very early in 1965. The power supply has been professionally recapped, and the smaller bias and bypass caps in the preamp have been replaced as well. A three-prong cable has been installed too. The tube chart is present, with an “OD” date code which translates to April of 1965. The speaker is a vintage, era-correct Oxford 12K5-6 with a clean black frame and the original Fender blue foil label on the magnet. One of Fender’s (and Oxford’s) rarest speakers, the 12K5-6 was only used in the Deluxe Reverb and this speaker retains a very clean, original cone. Cosmetically, the amp is complete with the original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The grillcloth has aged moderately since’65 and the Blackface faceplate shows very little wear with all of the black witch hat knobs intact. The tolex shows some wear at the corners corners along with some requisite stray nicks and scuffs and a single cigarette burn on the top, and overall this amp presents well. A logo was added to the grill and subsequently removed, showing a very faint outline of its placement, and an extra set of feet was installed on the bottom of the enclosure. All of the original hardware including the corners, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet) and logo is present. A modern two-button footswitch is included.
