Vintage 1930's Unmarked Gibson EH-100 Style Tube Guitar Amp Amplifier, Very Rare

For sale here is a very rare and unique vintage late 1930′s Gibson EH-100 or 125 style tube amplifier. I don’t know if this is a prototype 6F6 power tubes? First made in 1935, followed shortly thereafter by the 6V6 and finally the 6L6. , or if it was built for a music store in the late 1930′s. But there is no doubt that it has the same basic components and layout of Gibson amps of the late 1930′s. Utah speaker and matching branded 200 ohm power resistor. Geib Chicago (the company that made all of the early Gibson amp, guitar & other musical instrument cases) gold embossed shield on the inside cabinet along with the Western Electric, ERPI, AT&T gold foil label. It even has the original Geib made case cover! I bought this over 30 years ago, but I never got around to restoring it until now. It was packed in a box that I forgot about actually. I repaired and replaced only what was absolutely necessary for it to work. I replaced 3 capacitors (see photos 6 & 7), a few vacuum tubes with NOS tubes, and the electrical cord (left it non-grounded as originally designed). All of the original resistors still held spec when tested. It now plays and sounds quite good, really. But, if I were going to keep it, I would probably replace the remaining 5 original capacitors, which are all 80 years old now. However, I realize that many collectors want everything as original as possible, so I’ll leave it as-is. Note for Geeks: Check out the photo of the original (still working) Stackpole Volume pot; Date of Manufacture… Just an FYI that the one (Stackpole)Volume control knob on these style of vintage amps only controls the volume for the Microphone input. The Instrument input, which makes the guitar sound better when you run through it, has no attenuation, meaning you control the output volume with the volume knob(s) on your guitar. Please examine all of the photos, which are of the actual amp for sale in this listing, carefully and ask questions if you have any. Final word, this amp is a ridiculous bargain only because it doesn’t have a Gibson logo on it, even though it rolled off the same assembly line in the 1930′s. 1959 Fender Tremolux Vintage Tweed Tube Amp 100% Original with Jensen P12Q & Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Tremolux amplifier in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the stock “doorstop” wooden footswitch. One of the most tonally distinctive and sweet sounding amps of Fender’s late 1950s “narrow panel” Tweed era, the Tremolux essentially combined the tonal richness and dynamic, touch sensitive circuit of a 5E3 Deluxe with a bias-based footswitchable tremolo. Powered by a pair of 6V6 power tubes, this Tremolux has the same harmonic content, smooth tube breakup and glassy tone of a Deluxe, but the significantly larger open back cabinet on a Tremolux gives the tone more depth, low end and roundness overall. Like any four-input Tweed Fender, the magic really happens when you jumper the two channels and use the independent Volume controls to dial in the perfect amount of clarity and grit. With the addition of Fender’s earliest tremolo circuit (a bias based design that essentially turns on/off the power tubes to create the effect), the Tremolux is a versatile and impressive amp, delivering a trem circuit with a strong pulse and good range of speeds. The circuit is completely stock and untouched, with all of the original yellow Astron tone caps in the preamp, along with the original pots, carbon comp resistors, and cloth wire. Even the original Mini Mite Astron caps are present, along with the stock gray two-prong power cable. All of the original transformers are intact with late’59 date codes, and the pots date to the 50th week of’59 as well. The chassis itself is particularly clean, with chrome plating that has ample shine and virtually all of the original white silkscreen lettering intact. The original chickenhead knobs are all present as well. The speaker is the original Jensen P12Q, rated at roughly 35 watts and the perfect match for the output of the Tremolux which is decidedly more modest than what the speaker can handle. The teal frame is quite clean, with clear date stamps, intact bell cover and original Jensen label. The tube chart is also present on the inside of the cabinet and a particularly nice example, with an “IL” date stamp that translates to December of 1959. All of the original hardware is intact including the elusive leather handle. Other stock hardware includes the “Tremolux” badge on the face and four sphinx glides (feet) on the bottom. The original tweed is intact and as the photos show, it is in particularly nice shape, with sparingly little wear around the corners. The original oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe is also intact and well preserved and this is a particularly tidy vintage example with tweed that has aged to a light shade of amber. This Tremolux is a clean, no-excuses, collector-grade example with a stock circuit, clean chrome faceplate, original tweed, and stock brown single button wooden footswitch. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Vintage Conrad Johnson MV52 Vacuum Tube Power Amplifier OB EL34 Excellent

For sale is an excellent sounding Conrad Johnson MV52 tube amplifier. Fully tested and operational. Beautiful liquid tube sound, but still holds together very nicely across the range. Wonderful soundstage, deep and rich. Don’t let the 45 watts fool you. This amp has plenty of power! Two sets of tubes installed pair have about 30 hours on them so they are nicely burned in. Other pair have unknown hours but still sound great. Biasing tool (amp is already biased with installed tubes). 24k plated lugs to accept banana jack speaker cables (not shown). Original Box, manual, inserts. I don’t use all of the screws to keep the cage on. There are a few “spare” screws in the bag that will be included as well. The tube boxes shown are the actual Tubes that are installed and show the arrangement as well. I put the spare / older tubes into these boxes. Further description and s. Pecifications courtesy Conrad Johnson. MV52 Vacuum Tube Power Amplifier. The MV52 considerably refined the circuit design of the MV50 which it superseded. In the MV52 two sections of the input tube were connected in parallel to reduce the source impedance of the voltage amplifier, eliminating the cathode follower of the MV50. Probably the most significant change introduced in the MV52 was the use of polypropylene capacitors for the main power supply filter and reservoir eliminating electrolytic capacitors from the main power supplies. This was the first power amplifier to offer an all polypropylene main power supply. All other circuit capacitors in the MV52 were cjd polystyrene. 4, 8, 16 ohm speaker taps (screw type). One pair of inputs. Rack mount front panel. 45 watts per channel RMS, at 4, 8, or16 ohms both channels driven from 30Hz to 15kHz with no more than 1% THD or IMD. Input Sensitivity: 0.80 Volts RMS to rated power. Frequency Response: 20Hz to more than 20kHz , +0.5dB. Hum & Noise: 92 dB below 45 watts. Amp will be securely packaged to ensure a safe arrival!
