Vintage Tube Amp

For sale is a pair of McIntosh MC-60 amplifiers in completely original condition. They have not been turned on in probably 30 years. The last time they were used, they worked according to the original owner, but the system stored in a console was replaced by a more modern AV system that became popular at the time. I bought them several years ago intending to rebuild the power supplies and use them, but I simply have too many projects and think its a shame to hoard gear that could be used by someone else. These will come with a quad matched set of vintage Tung-Sol 6550s that test good. These amplifiers are in good condition, but with wear consistent with being exposed to air for nearly 60 years. One amplifier is cleaner than the other. One appears to have been improperly scrubbed which scratched the chrome. The lettering is 98% present on both. The transformers and bottom covers are in excellent condition with paint in beautiful condition. This is a matched pair in terms of the circuitry and components that are identical. I guarantee the transformers are good, but these amplifiers are so as-is beyond that. Please message me if you have any gear for sale but dont want to deal with listing! You do not need to live near me. I sell mostly vintage electronics. As such, these items are old and typically out of spec from when they were new. I do my best to test these items and make sure they work before theyre sent out, but I do not guarantee or represent that they will meet the original specifications. I may not even be able to test them, in which case assume that they dont work. However, there are times where I may miss something. If that happens, I hope that you would agree that the most efficient way to take care of an issue is if you simply message me before opening a case or doing anything else. I need an outlet for these items online, so I have no reason to send you something that doesnt work unless Ive noted that it doesnt. I pack items correctly. I know what it takes to get an item to you safely. You will NOT have to ask for it. I will do my best to get items out within a few days, however there are instances where that is not possible. The policies here are difficult in this regard because these vintage items in particular need to be moved and packed carefully. I do not want to damage anything by rushing. This is a Harman Kardon A300 Integrated Stereo Tube Amplifier. It uses 7408 Output tubes – a variant of a 6V6. All the tubes were tested on a Sencore TC154 emissions type, tube tester and passed. The testing included grid leakage and shorts. It works well now; I listened to an entire CD earlier today with no problems (distortion or red plating). It includes the owners manual (with the prior owners name on it) and a template for mounting this in a cabinet. It includes the top metal cover which is in very good shape (It looks more gray than green like the pictures show). The finish on the front face is “champagne gold”, but it is worn in some areas (like around the volume control knob and some other areas) and appears to be more silver than the champagne color. Zoom into the front face pictures. The output tubes all have a yellow “Harman Kardon” logo and appear to be original to the amplifier. The smaller tubes (4-12AX7′s and 1-12AU7) are not original to the amplifier (but have been tested and work as the should).
