This is a pair of McIntosh MC-30s in excellent condition. These are about as clean as can be expected for this era. There are a couple of rust spots, some very light pitting in places, and maybe a few scratches, but these are absolutely beautiful. These have consecutive serial numbers, which makes them an extremely rare matched pair. You could go years without seeing another matched pair come up for sale. Units have not been turned on for many years, maybe had a resistor/cap or two replaced, and appear to have had the cord replaced. They’re ready to restore the way you want to. Tubes are unremarkable, you’ll want to replace and matched up pairs of tubes on these. The lettering is 98% present on both. The transformers and bottom covers are in excellent condition with paint in beautiful condition. This is a matched pair in terms of the circuitry and components that are identical. Das Gerät ist voll funktionsfähig und von der Elektronik her sorgfältig und fachmännisch restauriert. Schlechte Widerstände und Kondensatoren wurden gewechselt. Die Becherelkos für die Siebung wurden erneuert. Von der Elektronischen Schaltung (Verkabelung)macht er einen schönen und aufgeräumten Eindruck. Die Original Philips Miniwatt Röhrenbestückung sind noch in einem sehr guten Zustand. Gleichrichtung GZ-34 Eingangsstufe-ECC-81 Vibratostufe ECC-83 Treiberstufe ECC-83 Endstufe 2x EL-84 Der Originalspeaker ist in einem Top Zustand. Mit seinen 18 Watt Sinusleistung macht er einen guten, kraftvollen und sauberen Sound. Somit ist er wieder fit für die nächsten 50 Jahre. One pair of Heathkit W-5M in working condition. The testing performed was the bare minimum to confirm whether working or non-working and lasted less than a few minutes. I put a pair of 5881 tubes into each and ramped up line voltage on a variac. The results of that brief test are below. Amp 1: played music at 80V line voltage and above. At 80V it drew. 5A of line current. At 90V it drew an amp of line current. No further testing was done. Amp 2: played music at 80V line voltage and above. At 100V it drew. At 120V it drew. 75 amp of line current. No output tubes are included with this listing. Both amps have the tubes shown in the photos. These are a good candidate for a restoration this winter. The tests show that some parts are out of spec but that all of the iron is performing as expected. Both have the more desirable Peerless 16309 nickel core output transformers. Plenty of information about these amps is available online and repairs parts are readily available from a variety of sources. Vintage 1961 Magnavox 8103 Dual Tube Amp Stereo Amplifier Project Great. The amp is completely original and is over 50 years old. There is some rust that I cleanded lightly as well. Other than that every thing is sound and all vacuum tubes light. I was able to jumper the power to test the amp. I was able to hear music out of both sides of the low frequency amp. The sound indicates its time for new coupling capacitors and probably most of the other capacitor for top rate sound. This amp will require modification to play directly from a wall outlet. The circuit will need to be checked and caps and resistors replaced as needed. They are great amps after being refurbished. That is why this is being called a project. Magnavox amps are easy to access and refurbish. There is a lot of information on line and Magnavox amps sound great after refurbishment. The amp is really two separate amp sections, a low amp and high amp. The lower-end stereo amp uses four 6V6 power tubes, two per side, in push pull configuration. Each side is 12 to 15 watts into 4 speaker loads. The higher end amp uses two 6V6 power tubes, one per side, in a single-ended amp arrangement. The load is around 3W into 16 Magnavox tweeters. This amp uses 11 vintage tubes. All tubes are branded Magnavox, and are original to the amp. They have not been tested.
