Here is a very funky new arrival; a rare, vintage, tube amp straight from 1965; an Airline Model 440 Combo 1 X 12 Tube Amplifier manufactured by Magnatone & rebranded under the Airline label for the national US department store retailer Montgomery Ward. Similar to how Danelectro manufactured musical gear for Sears Roebuck & Re branded the merch using the Silvertone label. Control panel includes 2 volume control knobs(1 for each channel) and a singular, master tone control; a switch that allows for three distinct settings for Normal, Mellow, and Bright tone options; two inputs per channel (high & low gain); Magnatones’ renowned vibrato (although this model is not stereo as many of Maggies’ amp line had) with intensity and speed controls and a foot switch input; reverberation depth control with foot switch input; 2 amp slo blo fuse, a remote speaker output and an on/off power switch with glowing green jewel cover. 2 GE 6V6 power tubes. 1 Sovtek 12AX7WXT+ pre-amp Tube. 1 Dumont 12AU7A pre-amp tube (original). 1 Electro-Harmonix 12AX7EH pre-amp tube. 1 Sylvania 6EU7 tube. 1 Estey 6DR7 tube (original). 1 RCA 6CA4 tube (maybe original).
