Nice condition 1966 Vintage Ampeg Jet J-12D version. Please look carefully at the photos. Don’t hesitate to ask for more photos. Check out the tolex and grill cloth on this one. This killer little combo amp is in sweet condition and I doubt you will find another 1966 vintage Ampeg Jet J-12D anywhere close to being this clean cosmetically. These Ampeg J-12D models are getting scarce, are highly sought after (for many reasons), and are very collectable. Light weight and super portable. Not to mention, built like a miniature tank. The build quality is top notch. Ampeg used quality parts and paid close attention to detail with these little gems. There is some fading of the silk screen on the faceplate, which is consistent with these amps of this vintage. Most Vintage Ampeg Jets we have seen have the silkscreen on the control panel almost completely rubbed off and missing. This happens over time and with a lot of use. This little Jet is all original and un-molested. It sounds wonderful at any volume. You’ll be surprised at the power of this little gem. Pedals really shine when used with this amp. He really hates to let it go, but he’s gotten older, doesn’t play much anymore, and says. It’s time to clear some things out. He takes great care of all his instruments and gear, and is very meticulous. He’s owned this amp for well over 20 years and says it has served him well at home and in the studio. He said it has never been on a live gig as long as he has owned it. Like other Ampeg amps of this era, the Jet 12 experienced some variations both in its enclosure style as well as in its electronic configuration. This is a VINTAGE 1969 DRIP EDGE FENDER TWIN REVERB TUBE GUITAR AMP with ORIGINAL JBL D120F SPEAKERS. IT WAS RECENTLY MODDED TO BLACKFACE SPECS. It is complete and functions properly. Controls and inputs have been cleaned, no scratchy pots. Completely serviced, everything works as it should. The cabinet covering and grill show wear. This is a solid, road worthy beast. Channel 1 controls are volume, treble, middle, bass, bright switch. Channel 2 controls are volume, bass, mid, treble, reverb, speed, intensity, bright switch. Original faceplate, knobs, footswitch, grill cloth, tolex, drip edge trim, hardware, speakers, paperwork, transformers, etc. Original power cord, but replaced plug. Made in the U. The tube chart has this as a AB763 circuit but it was actually a AC568 model, as confirmed by the schematic and my amp tech. Take note of the multi voltage selector switch on the back. The factory addition of a multi-voltage power transformer makes for a very rare model indeed. But notice the selector knob is missing. Set at (American standard) 117 volt, 60 cycle. Transformer codes are as follows… 022889 606915, 022699 606-9-12, 022746 606917. Not all the potentiometer codes are legible, but here is a list of the ones I can read… 137 6834, 137 6618, 137 6913, 137 6840, 137 6916. All the codes are correct for this vintage and components are assumed to be original. The supply cap pan has service dates… The smaller nine pin tubes include 2 made in the USA, all others are imports. It has a matched quad of Sovtek 6L6GC power tubes. The speakers are original to the amplifier. They have most likely been re-coned, as they no longer have the aluminum dust caps. Aesthetically this may be a concern for some, but audibly it is an improvement; eliminates a bit of the bright JBL sizzle and provides a slightly darker blackface tone. Deep and rich, just as it should be. The’JBL’ logo on the lower right grill is a replacement. This began life with an AC568 bias section. I have owned this amp for 8-12 years. I have many nice tube amps, but play mostly acoustic guitar. I have a friend (certified Fender & Peavey amp tech) who has serviced many of my amps over the years. When I took this amp to have serviced, he suggested I blackface this amp since it was too similar to my other. It was a great idea and although this amp sounds better than the 1970, I really do not need two Twins. I hate to see it go. IT IS AN AWESOME AMPLIFIER. Arguably the best amplifier Leo Fender ever designed. This LOUD, CLASSIC, TONE MONSTER is ready to give it’s next owner joy and pleasure. (and possible hearing loss). That is a bargain. This item is heavy and will require extra time and care to package. I never use UPS. Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet and knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls. As a basic test I have operated this amp for at least 4 hour recently and it did not fail, smoke, blow fuses, etc. Typically easy and inexpensive to maintain, you should be aware, old electronic require maintenance. Old electronic can fail at any time. We will work through the claim together until things are right. For sale we have an insanely rare and very special Sansui AU-111 Tube Amplifier. Many have said this before…. But this is one amazing amplifier! It is without a doubt the finest amplifier I have ever heard. Anywhere, at any price. I have owned 4 of these Beauties and they never cease to put a smile on my face. This 70 pound black beauty is quite a feat of engineering. It’s impressive weight and construction is equally matched by the impressive looking line of tubes, But the really impressive work is “under the hood”. Sansui felt that a good amplifier should not be bandwidth limited to the audible range, but should extend farther in both extremes, so the amplifier can handle the audible range without any of the artifacts of limited bandwidth amplifiers; such as phase shift at the frequency extremes. This amp sounds just amazing. It produces music with an authority and an ease that is unequaled in the audio world. The amp is extremely dynamic, capable of subtle detail one moment with extreme power on the next beat. Acoustic guitar strings just leap out of the speakers. It is extremely fast, but yet it doesn’t sound too fast. Very hard to describe. The other thing about the Sansui AU-111 that strikes you immediately is that it is somehow harmonically more correct than any other amp. The piano sounds more like a piano, the banjo more like a banjo, etc… There is simply no colouration that I can hear. This takes a bit of getting used to. I can see how some would say it is dry sounding or some such. However, after you live with it a while you realize that the instruments somehow sound more realistic than you have ever heard. It doesn’t editorialize, it just plays what you feed it with great clarity and detail, no harshness, amazing dynamic range, and stunning bass control. These amplifiers are very highly sought after in the used market today and getting one is like panning for gold in a Californian mountain stream. It takes some time and effort, but the end result is a find of pure 24K gold. The AU-111 is a straightforward amplifier. It is similar to a solid-state amp by virtue of the fact that what you feed it is what you get. Theres no tube amp romanticizing; rather, it is analytical and ruthlessly revealing. Vocals are nicely defined with the instruments sharp and clear. Soundstage is both wide and deep. The AU-111 allows you to hear the fluctuations in the vocals to such a degree that it feels you are at a live concert in the comfort of your own home. The condition is fantastic for an amplifier thats over 50 years old. The faceplate is immaculate. The lettering is all present on the amplifier and there are no dents present anywhere. All inputs work as they should, all terminals accept their respective cables and all valves glow in harmony. The only issue is that the small phase switch on the rear has broke but it can still be switched if desired. The speaker terminals have also been upgraded as the old ones are terrible and always fail to hold the speaker cable in place. This unit is Multivoltage and currently set to 240v. Really, you have to hear one of these. Even if you don’t keep it, just the chance to live with it for a while is an experience not to be missed for anyone who is into this crazy hobby. Please note that I have included high resolution photos and it appears there are blemishes on the unit. This is infact dust. I can confirm the unit is in pretty much 10/10 condition as is the faceplate. Usually the faceplate anodizes on these and turns a copper colour but this is still a nice rich black. She is literally ready to plug, play and enjoy. Power output: 40 watts per channel into 8 (stereo). Frequency response: 20Hz to 50kHz. Total harmonic distortion: 0.8%. Meteor amp basically a Uni-vox U-45 tube amp. Killer vintage small amp break-up. 2 channels and a hard ticking tremelo. Pretty sure amp is in all original condition. The wiring is immaculate. There are some nicks in the cabinet tolex, but nothing out of the ordinary for an amp of this age. Tremelo ticks hard, but is a tad tempermental. Could probably use a modest tune-up, and a change of the two prong power cord. I took a short video on you tube. Thats good for both of us!
