1966 Fender Vibro Champ Vintage Blackface Tube Amp Class A, Serviced

Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Vibro Champ, freshly serviced, very original, and extremely clean cosmetically. This little Blackface-era Fender wonder delivers five watts of pure Class A tube tone. A surprisingly loud amp with the original alnico 8 speaker, this Vibro Champ has just the right amount of glassy, sparkling clean tone before pushing into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive at about 4 on the volume knob. Dynamic, responsive, and absolutely huge sounding when you put a microphone in front of it, it’s hard to beat the Vibro Champ for pure simplicity and great tone. And of course, Fender’s lush sounding tremolo circuit has a strong pulse and wide range of speeds, perfect for subtle shifts in volume or machine gun chop. The preamp is very original, with only a couple new caps and resistors substituted as needed to keep the amp operating optimally. The stock Schumacher-made power transformer is intact, dating to the 48th week of’65, while the output transformer is a suitable Weber-made replacement. Visible date codes on the CTS pots date to the 21st week of’65, and the chassis stamp is from 1966. The tube chart is stunningly clean with crisp corners, sparingly little aging of the paper, and a “PC” code which translates to March of 1966. The tube compliment includes a JJ 6V6 power tube, a pair of Ruby-branded preamp tubes, and a vintage RCA 5Y3 rectifier. The speaker is the original Fender-branded Oxford 8 with a clean blue Fender label on the alnico magnet. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are extremely clean, with plenty of sparkle in the thread and limited aging of the cloth. The faceplate is stunningly well-kept too, complete with its full compliment of witch hat knobs. The stock handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), and chassis straps are all intact, and the hardware shows sparingly little surface patina. This Vibro Champ is an ideal example of Blackface tone that sure to delight both discerning collectors and serious players. 1964 Fender Princeton Non-Reverb Vintage Blackface Pre-CBS Tube Amp Near Mint

Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Princeton in stunning, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with a virtually untouched circuit. A first-year example, this vintage Blackface Fender is a true Pre-CBS era Fender gem featuring the early no-logo cabinet design and “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate. Unlike its brother the Princeton Reverb, this non-reverb Princeton has much more clean headroom, as the lack of the reverb effect introduces less gain into the circuit, allowing the amp to be clearer and punchier, with a sound that has sparkle and chime indicative of the Blackface line and perfect for recording situations. The controls are simple and intuitive, and the bias-based tremolo circuit has a nice even pulse with a wide range of available speeds. The circuit is untouched save for a new bias cap which has been cleanly sleeved in the original brown Astron wrapper. The original Schumacher-made output and power transformers date to 1964, and visible codes on the original Stackpole pots date to the 40th week of’64. The famed blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp, instrumental in creating the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Blackface circuits. The tubes consist of a matched pair of brand new EH 6V6 power tubes, with the original Amperex GZ34 rectifier and RCA-branded 12AX7s in the preamp. The tube chart is clean and unfaded with crisp corners and an “NL” date stamp that translates to December of’64. Typically the tube chart date is the latest on any Fender, which is true in this instance as well. The speaker is the original Oxford 10J4 10 ceramic driver which has just been professionally reconed. The speaker has a clean black frame and date code from the 43rd week of’64. The speaker is wired to the original harness with the flat metal cap seen on the earliest Blackface speaker jacks. The nickel hardware on the amp is completely original and the faceplate is particularly clean, with stock witch hat knobs. The stock black tolex and silver sparkle grill are extremely well-kept, with sparingly little aging of the grillcloth which has plenty of sparkle in the thread. This is a no-excuses early Blackface Princeton which delivers a sound worthy of the Fender name. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. It is my passion to bring you the very finest restoration I can. My quest to explore, diagnose, repair and service electronic and mechanical devices. Began when I was 7 years old. I’d get up very early, everyday in the Summer and on Saturday mornings during the school year. I’d take my Huffy bicycle. Around TV service and electronic repair store rubbish areas. I’d hit the trash cans of neighbors, industrial and retail centers, collecting interesting. Specimens of electronic chassis and motor driven gizmos, to dissect, study and organize. In my teens I built and studied projects from Heathkit and. Other schematics featured in Mechanics Illustrated, Electronics Illustrated and similar related publications. In the Navy I went to school, studied and. Worked as an Aviation Electrician repairing and servicing military aircraft. Now that I’m retired, I still love to tinker with electronic and mechanical. Several radios, record players, amplifiers, and color wheels that I will be restoring over the next several years. My goal is to make these old, vintage. Devices function like new again. They sure don’t make-em like they used to. This is a very special record player that will be packaged with care and consideration to make sure it arrives as described to its new owner. Vintage PAIR Dynakit Mark Mk IV Mono Tube Amps Amplifiers UNTESTED Minus 2 Tubes

Vintage PAIR Dynakit Mark Mk IV Mono Tube Amps Amplifiers UNTESTED Minus 2 Tubes Looks complete except for 2. Tubes on one of the amps. Info found on the web. The Mark IV Amplifier uses a circuit arrangement based on that of the Dynakit’s Mark II and Mark III which have become world famous for superior quality while essentially simple and trouble free. The new 7199 tube is used as a pentode high gain voltage amplifier directly coupled to a cathodyne phase inverter. All parameters are adjusted for minimum distortion. This type of phase inverter has the unique advantage that its operation is independent of tube ageing so that no adjustments are required in maintaining optimum performance. An internal capacitive feedback loop balances the phase inverter at the highest frequencies, and the arrangement provides accurately balanced driving signals to the output tubes, which are EL-34′s operated well below their maximum ratings. The output tubes use a fixed bias arrangement which is set through use of Dyna Biaset (patent pending) which provides optimum linearity of the tubes and minimizes the effects of unbalanced components. The connection of the output tubes includes a small percentage of screen loading which improves the regulation of the output stage and makes it comparatively uncritical of load impedance. Power output: 40 watts into 8 (mono) (EACH). Frequency response: 20Hz to 20kHz. Total harmonic distortion: 1%. Input sensitivity: 1.3V. Signal to noise ratio: 90dB. Speaker load impedance: 4 to 16. Valve complement: 2 x EL-34, 1 x 7199, 1 x GZ-34, 1 x selenium rectifier. Dimensions: 5 x 14 x 6.5 inches. I do not have the proper equipment to test a tube pre-amp and do not want to risk applying power to a 60 year old unit. Previous units that I acquired from the same audiophile collection have proven to be in very good condition. He did not own junk. See pics for details. Will be carefully packed in a sturdy box with ample packaging. On all 6 sides. The Last picture is an example of how I pack these (with Styrofoam on the top and bottom as well as the sides shown). It is located in Simi Valley, CA. Just 40 miles north of Los Angeles.
