Witnessed functionality, I don’t play guitar, I do PA stuff. I then burned it in for two days using my Denon turntable power transformer and all lights still on. Normal wear and tear. Did witness that this box enables distortion and you can over drive it because of it being tube driven. It hadn’t been used in decades and has sat in a closet for all these years. It had a massive (maybe 50′) 4-wire cord with an appliance plug on the end. We cut most of the cord off as it was simply too long. You’ll probably want to install a new 3-wire cord. We also noticed that the meter switch is frozen. This will have to be repaired or replaced before the amp can be used. The amp hasn’t been tested in any way, and the tubes have been removed for use in another project. Up for sale here is this set of 2 vintage Eico HF-30 tube amplifiers, with serial numbers 2502 and 5632. These came from a local tube guy, and came to me just as you see them, with only the 6AV6 and 6C4 tubes. They are in fairly good physical condition, but here are some things to note. One has some paint dots on it, and both have some minor wear/paint scrapes/chipping. Some transformers have scuffing/scrapes/missing paint. One power transformer has no markings on top. One amp has a bottom cover, and one does not. No tubes (other than the 6AV6s and 6C4s, which are untested). One has a regular cord (with some tape on it), the other has a tiny stubby cord. Can capacitors are different–one is gold-colored, the other is silver-colored. One amp has an octal jumper plug in the “preamp power” jack, the other does not. The circuitry of one appears to be original, but a bit of it is missing–you can see one part hanging loose where a terminal strip is missing. The other amp has been updated with some new caps and resistors. I will guarantee the transformers to be good. This is a really rare pair of amps–don’t miss it! Please see my pictures for details. EICO ST-70 TUBE AMPLIFIER VINTAGE. This used EICO ST-70 is in fairly good used condition, I cleaned the pots and got rid of static valve noise, other than that it turns on and amplifies, I plugged a turntable in to test sound and it had good sound for a vintage amp. This amplifier was mounted in a cabinet console and was fan cooled during operation, It does not have the perforated cover. All tubes light up, and I heard no hum when powered on, It is all original, with no modifications. The original Owners users manual is provided and very descriptive with the complete circuit diagram. Other than cleaning the Pots nothing else has been done. It is be offered as it is. It is well packed to protect tubes with foam inserted between tubes.
