For sale is a McIntosh MC275 power amplifier that uses 6550, 12AU7, 12AX7, 12AZ7, and 12BH7A tubes. Only essential parts were changed to make sure the amplifier is working as it should. Aside from that, to my knowledge, it has many original capacitors and parts.

You have found a great condition 1959 Gibson GA-18 Explorer amp. This is a vintage, original GA-18, not the GA-18T, which was produced in 1960-61. The 1959 GA-18 had the 10 Jenson Special Design speaker, but otherwise the specs are the same. The listing includes the following original elements of the Explorer. Tweed and grill cloth. Normal wear shown for this vintage: staining and variation in the tweed, scuffs, etc. As shown in the images, the grill cloth has one broken thread and a small rash in one spot. These were there when I. This amp and I’ve not attempted a repair. Otherwise the grill cloth is fabulous and the Gibson badge is perfect. Jenson 10 speaker is. Dated 1st week of 1960. Foot switch in very good condition. All feet in place. What’s not original. A few replaced caps. A new 3 prong grounded cord has been installed for safety. A custom cover has been added, which is in new condition. Tubes of course have changed since. But vintage tubes are in the power section. The GA-18 has great tremolo and the pedal works as it should. This just sounds as fabulous as it looks. The GA-18 has the following tube types, and here’s how it’s currently populated. Two 12ax7 preamp tubes, (currently has Groovetubes GT12AX7M tubes). Two 6v6 power tubes (currently has Philips 6V6GTA tubes). One 5y3 rectifier tube. (currently has Magnavox 5Y3GT). If you would prefer a specific shipper the costs may be higher. All Sales Final. Silverface Dual Showman Tube Amp Head Tremolo and Reverb. Excellent vintage condition early 1969 Fender Silverface Dual Showman tube amp head with tremolo and reverb. 85 watts at 8 ohms. Sounds sweet and all the gigging power you’ll ever need! Silverface chassis number A17603 (1969). No master volume to mess with your tone. Tolex is in very good condition. Original grill cloth and logo and faceplate are in excellent condition. Original power transformer #606 903 (3rd week of 1969), choke #606-8-49 (49th week of 1968), output transformer #606 848 (48th week of 1968), and reverb transformer #606-9-02 (2nd week of 1969). The old brown pillow coupling caps have been replaced with high quality orange drops. New F&T filter and bias supply caps. Sprague Atom bypass caps and a couple resistors. Balance control has been replaced and converted to pre-CBS true bias control. New reverb pan bag and cables. Grounded cord for safety. RCA blackplate and Sylvania 6L6GC power tubes and RCA preamp tubes. Another sparkling example of “Fender Art”. I bought this amp up slowly with my variac when it started playing there was no hum, just great sounding music. I listened for about 10 minutes and shut it down. Before I shut the amp off I use the bias switch to set the bias on the output tubes to the proper line and that adjustment worked great. This amplifier makes it easy to set the perfect bias. The new owner should do this from time to time, or whenever you change tubes. This amplifier is not mint. There are some scratches that show it is 60 years old. Please use the many pictures provided to judge for yourself regarding the condition. They have used tubes and while they do work these used tubes should be replaced with good quality new tubes. Please consider these tubes as a free gift with the amplifier and as such have no value connected with the cost of the amplifier. While this amplifier is working and sounds great I have no idea if it will work for another 60 years or 60 minutes. Vintage electronics like this that have never been serviced can stop working. Before you consider using this amplifier on a regular basis you should have it checked out by a qualified person. All old capacitors, tubes, filters, and resistors should be checked before regular use. The answer is this unit can always be rebuilt, but once rebuilt it can never be all original like this again. Many collectors of vintage audio only want all original units like this, that have never been changed and are just like they left the factory. Some audio guys may want to rebuild this unit themselves using certain parts that they prefer. Many just collect rare audio items like this and never plan to plug them in, and they want only all original electronics. I will leave those choices to the new owner.
