1967 Fender Twin Reverb Blackface Vintage Tube Amp 2x12 with Oxford 12T6 Speakers

Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Twin Reverb in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A freshly serviced and very original example, this Twin’s condition is all the more uncommon given its size. While Fender’s smaller combos of the era can occasionally be found in pristine shape, it’s significantly rarer to find Fender’s gig-worthy large combos (which generally saw much rougher usage) as well-kept as this example. This Twin delivers warm, articulate cleans with ample bass response, a wide-ranging and responsive EQ, and present, sparkling Fender top end. When it comes to the quintessential Blackface Fender amp for clarity, headroom, and the balanced, authoritative response of a four 6L6 driven tube amp, it’s hard to beat the Twin. The tube-driven Reverb effect has incredibly depth and splash, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with a wide range of speeds. It’s as iconic a design as Leo Fender ever created, also very well-suited to amplifying pedal steel or electric piano in the vein of a Wurlitzer or Fender Rhodes. The circuit is extremely clean and straight, with all of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors in the preamp, a key part of the sweet, musical character of the Blackface-era preamps. The preamp features just a few new electrolytic caps, and even the original Mallory main filter caps are intact and still viable. The power tubes are a quad of properly biased Sovtek 5881WTX (6L6), and the preamp tubes are all matched modern Sovtek-branded valves as well. All of the original Schumacher-made transformers are intact, all dating to mid-1967, and the original CTS pots have visible date codes from the 51st week of’66. The speakers are a matched pair of vintage Oxford 12T6s, both featuring original cones and dating a hair earlier than the amp, with date codes on the frames from the 49th week of’65. These speakers easily handle the power of the Twin, and the speaker harness is original too. The tube chart is intact, stamped with a bold “QH” date code which translates to October of 1967. The original black tolex is exceptionally clean, with sparingly little wear on the edges of the enclosure. The silver sparkle grillcloth shows only modest darkening over the decades, with one small hole that has been cleanly patched from the backside with matching cloth. The faceplate is notably well-kept, retaining its full compliment of original witch hat knobs, and the original backplate is intact too, with the SSN of a previous owner etched into the plate. All of the original hardware is present, including the chrome tilt back legs, nickel corners, sphinx glides, handle, and raised Fender logo on the amp’s face. 1962 Magnatone Custom 262 Jupiter Vintage Tube Amp 2x12 Collector-Grade with Tag

Up for sale, a 1962 Magnatone Custom 262 Jupiter vintage tube amplifier in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch and hangtag. Virtually identical to the 260 model, this Estey-era Magnatone was rebranded as the 262 Jupiter for the accordion market who were a large part of Magnatone’s client base in their heyday. The amp features an ostensibly original set of all vintage tubes, with a matched 6L6 General Electric power tube pair, as well as a 2×12 speaker configuration with original Oxfords and lush pitch shifting vibrato. This Magnatone features two channels with individual Volume and EQ controls as well as two-way Tone toggles for each channel. Driven by the aforementioned GE 6L6 power tube pair, the amp has a rich, lush sound capable of delivering both articulate cleans and overdriven roar when pushed hard. Of course at the heart of any Magnatone is their varistor-based true pitch shifting vibrato circuit, which is thick and watery, with a Leslie-esque swirl and unequalled dimension. As a top of the line Magnatone amplifier, the 262 Jupiter has a complex true point-to-point hand-wired circuit which is 100% original save for a couple new resistors and a single capacitor, fully vetted by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. The circuit retains all of the original blue Ajax molded caps in the preamp and CTS pots that date to the 21st week of 1962. The original Schumacher transformers are intact, dating between late 1961 and early 1962. The GE 6L6 power tubes are properly biased and sound exquisite, paired with a Sylvania rectifier and preamp tubes from the likes of Telefunken and GE, all with nigh flawless silkscreen text on the glass. The amp retains its original pair of alnico magnet Oxford 12K5 12 drivers with very clean frames and original cones. The date stamps on the frames are from the 22nd week of 1962, matching closely with the pots and transformers. The original brown bindery cloth covering is exceedingly clean, especially notable on a Magnatone given the fragility of this material when compared to Fender’s tolex. There is very light edge wear, mostly relegated to the bottom 20% of the enclosure, and the original grillcloth is intact too with gold sparkle thread and the original Estey badge in the lower right corner of the baffle. The faceplate is quite well kept, with clean silkscreened graphics and all of the original barrel knobs. The amp comes complete with its original wooden wedge footswitch to engage the vibrato, as well as the original two-sided large Magnatone hangtag. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1969 Fender Pro Reverb Drip Edge Vintage Tube Amp 2x12 with Blackface Circuit

Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Pro Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, freshly recapped and retubed. A transitional model with “drip edge” aluminum trim and Silverface cosmetics, this amp still retains the same AA165 circuitry as its Blackface predecessor, as well as being one of the last Pros to retain the screwed-in baffle, a tonally impactful feature phased out by’70. Providing the general tonal character of a Twin Reverb, but boasting a tube rectifier and more manageable 40 watts of power, the Pro Reverb is a 2×12 amplifier with enough volume for large ensemble situations and the perfect balance between shimmering Blackface cleans and smooth, touch-sensitive overdrive. A great platform for effects pedals too, the cleans on this Pro are balanced, clear, and warm. Of course once you reach around 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly, and you get that dynamic, glassy sound that adds just the right amount of grit to your tone. The tube-driven Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension, and the Tremolo has a strong, smooth pulse and wide range of speeds. The circuit has just been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, and the preamp is loaded with low-noise metal film resistors, original brown molded capacitors, and modern Sprague electrolytics. All of the stock CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from 1967-68. The original power and output transformers are intact, along with the original choke, all manufactured by Schumacher and dating between mid-1968 and early’69. The small reverb transformer is a modern replacement. The power supply has been freshly recapped with Sprague Atoms, and a modern three-prong power cable has been installed. The tube compliment includes a pair of JJ 6L6 power tubes, along with a JJ GZ34 rectifier, and an assortment of mostly JJ valves in the preamp as well. The speakers are the original pair of Utah-made and Fender-branded 12 ceramic drivers with matching date codes from the 47th week of’68. The original speaker harness is intact too, as is the tube chart. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe is intact, and the tolex is extremely clean, while the grillcloth shows modest, uniform aging. The stock hardware includes the original tilt back legs, chassis straps, corners, handle, and sphinx glides (feet). Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1966 Silvertone 1484 Vintage Danelectro Tube Amp 2x12 with Jensen C12Qs

Up for sale, a 1966 Silvertone model 1484 “Twin Twelve” piggyback tube amplifier, fully serviced and complete with the original Jensen C12Q speaker pair and full compliment of vintage USA-made tubes. Manufactured by Danelectro in the USA and marketed through Sears via their house brand “Silvertone, ” the 1484 was one of the top-tier department store amps of its day, and also an amp that’s found favor with todays players including Jack White and Beck. The 1484 “Twin Twelve” has an extremely smooth and rich breakup, with warm clean tones at low volumes that give way to a touch of tube overdrive at roughly half volume, and reach full tube saturation with a touch of compression anywhere beyond 7 on the dial. Both channels feature a pair of inputs (high and low) and both channels share the built-in Reverb and Tremolo effects. While the Tremolo has a nice strong pulse that gets quite thick and deep, the Reverb is infamous in its own right for its thin, trashy sound that’s perfect for lo-fi and surf tunes, with a unique gain structure and chiming top end character. The circuit has been serviced with just a few new signal caps in the preamp as needed, and the power supply has been rebuilt with all new electrolytics as well, with a modern three-prong power cable installed as well as a conventional 1/4 female jack on the head for ease of use with other cabinets. The original power transformer is intact, and the output transformer is a modern, factory-spec replacement. The original CTS pots date to the 17th week of 1966, and the speakers are the original pair of C12Q Jensen 12 drivers which date to the 21st week of’66. The tube compliment includes a matched pari of small bottle GE 6L6s, along with the matched set of original Silvertone-branded preamp tubes, manufactured by the likes of RCA and Amperex. All of the original barrel knobs are intact on the polished aluminum faceplate, which also retains all of the original black silkscreen text. The original gray textured covering and gold sparkle grillcloth are intact. The cabinets show some modest edge wear, particularly on the speaker cab, yet the grillcloth has plenty of sparkle in the thread, and both the head and speaker cab are structurally sound. This amp is gig-ready and fully serviced for optimal performance and longevity. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1984 Marshall JCM800 4104 2×12 tube amplifier in exceptional, 100% original condition and in good working order, featuring the original nigh immaculate custom white elephant tolex. This early vertical input JCM800 head shares many similarities to the earlier JMP and can deliver the thick crunch, sizzle, and power for which the 800 series is known. And the inclusion of the Master Volume allows for greater control over the saturation point and overall volume. Biased to perfection with a pair of Sovtek 6550s, this Marshall is ready for stage and studio use. The circuit is all original, with the full compliment of Drake transformers that date to 1984, each with its original paper sticker on the transformer bell. All of the original Wima capacitors are intact in the preamp. The chassis itself is stunningly clean with very little oxidation, and the pristine nature of the amp extends to the back panel and faceplate, which has its full compliment of original knobs. The original Celestion G12M-70 speaker pair is intact, with “LR” date stamps on the frames which translate to November of 1983. The amp retains the original molded plastic feet, corners, and handle caps, as well as the large “Marshall” logo and piping on the black grillcloth. Up for sale, a 1975 Fender Twin Reverb, freshly serviced and in perfect working order. This Twin is freshly retubed with a matched quad of Tung Sol 6L6s and lives up to its reputation for having the most formidable, glassy, and balanced clean tones a tube amp can provide. These tones are further complimented by a pair of vintage Fender-branded and Pyle-manufactured heavy duty ceramic magnet 12 speakers, which have a smooth, punchy, and surprisingly articulate sound. Perfect not only for guitar, the Twin is an excellent choice for any scenario where headroom is a must, performing equally well with a pedal steel or your favorite Rhodes piano. The circuit is very original, with only a few new capacitors necessitated in the preamp to keep the amp operating to original factory specs. All of the original Schumacher transformers date between 1974 and mid-1975, and the power supply has been professionally recapped with a combination of Ruby and F&T caps. All of the original CTS pots are present as well, dating to’75. The chassis has a clean faceplate and full compliment of original knobs. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is intact, and the pair of Pyle-manufactured 12 speakers have clean blue foil Fender labels on the ceramic magnets, with clean black frames and viable cones. The smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with orange stripe is quite clean, as is all of the original hardware. The amp was at one time fitted with additional handles on the sides of then enclosure which have subsequently been removed. Up for sale, a 1960s Echo Twin-Amp 45 vintage piggyback tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Exceedingly rare outside Japan and manufactured by Miyuki Ind. , this Echo amp was designed to capitalize on the success of Fender’s larger Blackface era amplifiers, yet has a sound all its own and actually more akin to a Music Man, with a EL34-based power section. Fully serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, this Twin-Amp 45 features 45 watts of all tube power, a closed back cabinet design with original pair of alnico 12 drivers, and built-in Tremolo and spring Reverb. Channel One is designated the Reverb/Vibrato channel and is sonically more. On the scooped side, with a present top end cut and a taut bass response. The Reverb has a lush, splashy character, and the Tremolo controls have a wide sweep and particularly deep chop when required. Channel Two has a bit more power and punch, with a fat low end, a wooly low midrange character, and smooth treble. The tag board circuit has been thoroughly recapped with brand new Sprague Orange Drop capacitors, and the original power and output transformers are intact, while the reverb driver is a replacement. The chassis itself is quite clean, and the black silkscreened faceplate has its full compliment of original large barrel knobs. Remarkably, the complete matching set of original Matsushita tubes is also intact. Inside the cabinet, the original stock 12 speakers are present with clean frames and viable original cones. Taking its cues from its Fender contemporary, this Twin-Amp 45 features smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth that has aged over the decades. Aside from some minor scuffs and edge wear, there is very little wear to report, and this Echo Twin-Amp 45 is not only rare, but completely serviced. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Pro Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Jensen C12N speaker pair and two-button footswitch. Providing the general tonal character of a Twin Reverb, but boasting a tube rectifier and more manageable 40 watts of power, the Pro Reverb is a 2×12 amplifier with enough volume for large ensemble situations and the perfect balance between shimmering Blackface cleans and smooth, touch sensitive overdrive. A great platform for effects pedals too, the cleans on this Pro are balanced, clear, and warm. Of course once you reach around 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly, and you get that dynamic, glassy sound that adds just the right amount of grit to your tone. The Reverb has plenty of depth and splash, and the Tremolo has a nice deep chop. Very original and well maintained, this Pro Reverb is ready for stage and studio use. The circuit is extremely original, with the original compliment of Schumacher transformers (Fender’s largest supplier of Blackface-era transformers), dating between late 1965 and the first weeks of’66. The stock CTS pots are all intact as well, dating to late’65, and the chassis stamp notes a 1966 build date. The preamp is untouched save for a few small electrolytic capacitors, and the amp retains all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps which are a hallmark of the Blackface sound. The power supply has also been professionally recapped. A modern three-prong power cable has been installed, and the amp is loaded with mostly vintage valves including a pair of likely original RCA 6L6GC power tubes. The speakers are the original pair of Jensen C12NA 12 ceramic drivers, and the speakers date to the 30th week of’65 with original foil stickers on the magnets and clan black frames. The tube chart is also fully intact inside the cabinet with crisp corners and a PB stamp which translates to February of 1966. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth is intact and in great shape, showing only light wear and still looking surprisingly clean after half a century. The cloth has only faint aging, and the tolex shows only some minor scuffs and nicks on the edges of the enclosure. The stock hardware is in great shape including original tilt back legs, chassis straps, corners, sphinx glides (feet), and handle. The faceplate is extremely clean, with a full compliment of witch hat knobs. This Pro Reverb has vintage tubes, a very original circuit, and a desirable Jensen C12NA speaker pair, sounding every bit as good as a Blackface Fender should! The original two-button footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions!
