The pots and jacks have been cleaned and a 3 prong cable has been installed. It has 6V6 power tubes, 12AX7 preamp tubes, 6AU6, 6X4. The baffle and the speaker are stamped 3113. Airline/Valco Model 440 VINTAGE 1965 Amp Amplifier – Killer tube tone! Here is a very funky new arrival; a rare, vintage, tube amp straight from 1965; an Airline Model 440 Combo 1 X 12 Tube Amplifier manufactured by Magnatone & rebranded under the Airline label for the national US department store retailer Montgomery Ward. Similar to how Danelectro manufactured musical gear for Sears Roebuck & Re branded the merch using the Silvertone label. Good + condition having a very similar Magnatone-style build cosmetically & electronically. Almost a dead ringer compared to Magnatones’ model 440, although w different label, badges & tolex color. This was Magnatone’s answer to the Fender Princeton Reverb blackface combo amp. Inside is a beautiful sounding original 12-inch speaker that packs a punch for the rated 15 watts of 6V6 valve power. This is a two-channel, vintage, 15-watt tube amp. Control panel includes 2 volume control knobs(1 for each channel) and a singular, master tone control; a switch that allows for three distinct settings for Normal, Mellow, and Bright tone options; two inputs per channel (high & low gain); Magnatones’ renowned vibrato (although this model is not stereo as many of Maggies’ amp line had) with intensity and speed controls and a foot switch input; reverberation depth control with foot switch input; 2 amp slo blo fuse, a remote speaker output and an on/off power switch with glowing green jewel cover. 2 GE 6V6 power tubes. 1 Sovtek 12AX7WXT+ pre-amp Tube. 1 Dumont 12AU7A pre-amp tube (original). 1 Electro-Harmonix 12AX7EH pre-amp tube. 1 Sylvania 6EU7 tube. 1 Estey 6DR7 tube (original). 1 RCA 6CA4 tube (maybe original). This is our standard packaging procedure. Transformer is stamped 20-0008 606222 and looks to be original. A copy of the original schematic will be included with the sale. Amp has undergone minimal but necessary electronic restoration. All work was professionally done through Element 79, Custom Fabrication of Tube Amplifiers and Audio Repair Work Par Excellence, owned by James Nicholls located in Maple Shade, NJ. Cosmetically, there are assorted bumps and bruises associated with the age of this item. The grill-cloth is 100% intact and original. There is one missing rubber foot on the bottom of the chassis, and there is some slight Tolex edge-wear in various places. Please look at our photographs for specific cosmetic cindition. Electronically, new power tubes were installed , assorted capacitor replacements only as needed, and we replaced the mismatched knobs with chicken head knobs. All components have been tested and thoroughly enjoy cleaned through a complete tune-up and any leaky or ancient parts have been replaced. Amp is 100% functioning and will serve your purposes very well for any number of applications. Amplifier is 20″ wide X 16″ high X 9 1/2 deep; total weight is 40 lbs, 0 oz. Up for sale, a 1963 Airline Montgomery Ward model. 62-9015A in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, this Airline amp was manufactured by Danelectro in the USA and boasts a two 12 Jensen C120Q speakers and a dual 6L6-based output tube compliment. A two channel affair, this amp boasts both Reverb and Tremolo, with warm, detailed cleans at lower settings and smooth tube overdrive with some aggressive snap at high volumes. One of Dano’s larger amps, the. 62-9015A (an amp was never more in need of a more inspiring name) is a dynamic, powerful all-tube machine that works great with a wide range of pickups. The circuit retains the original transformers, and the chassis has clean chrome with original black silkscreen graphics and original large black barrel knobs. The tube compliment includes a brand new properly-biased pair of Tung Sol 6L6 power tubes, with a vintage GE 5Y3 rectifier and an assortment of vintage valves in the preamp as well. The Jensen speakers are a matched pair with date codes from the 47th week of’63. The dark blue frames show sparingly little wear and both have small Jensen foil labels on the magnets. The original stock dark gray tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, with some wear on the front bottom corners of the enclosure and a few requisite scuffs and light marks of wear. There is some staining on the grillcloth and the back panel is missing, yet overall this is a fine example that functions exactly as it should, is freshly retubed, and has been given a clean bill of health. Vintage Montgomery Ward / Valco Amp Head. 2 Channel, Reverb and Tremolo. 4 x 6L6s, 3 x 12AX7, and a 6V6 all of which look to be RCA. This amp is a vintage tube amp which looks to be in its original state minus the updated 3 prong cord added by one of the previous owners. Having it inspected by a amp tech is always a wise idea to insure several more years of awesome use. Both channels work and so does the reverb and tremolo. There is a hum when the amp is on and resting, w. Hich is very common for older amps. It does sound very good though when it is played and all the knobs and switches seam to work. The hum doesnt increase when adding volume or adding reverb or tremolo. All 3 lights work but the 1st one looks to be out of position and not as bright. Cabinet does have a few dings with rips in the vinyl, but solid and clean for the most part. One rubber foot is broken also. Faceplate does have some pitting from its age. Solid amp with great bones, but not in perfect condition. Please ask any and all questions and I will do my best to answer. Ridiculous but it will be packed correctly. This is a very rare Airline 2535-V commercial grade tube amplifier unit. It is missing the record player which would mount on top but an orange metal plate was added on top. This unusual amp unit features battery operation with AC and DC power cords on the back. It appears that the large mechanism toward the rear of the chassis inside is a generator (Genemotor switch on the faceplate), perhaps the generator is to recharge an external battery (not included). The tube compliment going from back to front counter-clockwise are 83, 6F5G, 6F5, 79, 76 6L6, 6L6 all vintage including RCA and Sylvania (untested tubes).
