Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Bandmaster in mint condition and in good working order. A “best of both worlds” amp for a player that seeks a like-new appearance, optimal reliability, and a lush, all-tube sound with vintage circuitry, this Bandmaster is a stunning example. Professionally retolexed and regrilled with vintage-correct materials and patterns, this Bandmaster is loaded with a modern pair of Jensen C12N speakers, while the circuit is 100% original. This 40 watt Black Panel Fender powerhouse has the powerful, balanced cleans and smooth tube overdrive at high volumes that you expect from a vintage Fender from this era. The cleans are warm and articulate, with Fender’s sparkly top end and the ability to dial in just the right amount of grit and light tube compression. The preamp retains all of the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps, essential to the sweet, musical sound of the Black Panel circuits, and the original Schumacher-made transformers all date to 1965. The Stackpole pots have late’65 date codes, and the tube chart rounds out the applicable dates with a “PB” stamp that translates to February of 1966. Even the original power supply caps are intact and still viable. The tube complement includes a brand new pair of properly biased 6L6 power tube pair, with a host of mostly vintage valves in the preamp from the likes of RCA and Sylvania. The cabinet is stocked with a modern pair of Jensen C12N 12 speakers with immaculate deep green frames and original cones. The cabinet has also been fitted with new sound dampening foam sheets. The head and speaker cabinet have been professionally retolexed with correct smooth black tolex, cut in vintage-correct patterns, along with new silver sparkle grillcloth on both enclosures. Both the head and cabinet retain their original raised “Fender” logos, and the gleaming hardware includes new nickel corners, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, and chrome tilt-back legs. You simply won’t find a better vintage Blackface Fender at this price point, and the Bandmaster truly delivers on the promise of the AB763 circuit, with incredible cleans, smooth overdrive and strong tremolo! 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb Vintage Tube Amp Black Panel AB763 Circuit with Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a two-button footswitch. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has been thoroughly serviced with an eye towards reliable gig and studio-worthy performance, updated to run on 6L6 power tubes for additional clean headroom and power. Boasting a new MojoTone speaker cabinet, a full complement of Mercury Magnetics Tone Clone transformers, a Sprague Atom recapped power supply, TRS effects loop, and reconed vintage Fender/Oxford speaker, this particular Deluxe bridges the gap in tonal richness and modern functionality between a genuine vintage example and Fender’s recent Custom Shop’64 model. Stocked with a matched pair of Groove Tubes 6L6 power tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp delivers the top end sparkle and clarity characteristic of the best amps from Fender’s Black Panel era, a perfect platform for a host of effects pedals. Turning up past 5 on the Volume dial, the amp begins to push into overdrive territory with light compression and plenty of bark and body. The Reverb is lush with long decay, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit boasts Mercury Magnetics Tone Clone transformers, the same high-quality USA-made iron that Fender uses for their highest tier Custom Shop amps. These transformers are extremely reliable and tonally rich, utilizing the same premium materials and techniques that make the originals so revered. The preamp is extremely original with cloth covered leads on the eyelet board, the original set of CTS pots which have visible date codes from the 13th week of’66, and the majority of the blue molded Ajax capacitors, central to the sweet, musical character of the Black Panel amps. The power supply has been professionally recapped with high quality Sprague Atoms, and a three-prong cable has been installed too. The speaker is a vintage Oxford 12L6 ceramic driver which dates to the 18th week of 1965. The speaker has a clean frame and Fender foil label on the magnet, recently reconed for optimal reliability and life, and broken in enough to not sound stiff. The cabinet is a brand new vintage reissue courtesy of MojoTone, crafted of solid finger-jointed pine with a 100% void-free baltic birch baffle. This cabinet sounds lively and is a perfect match for the Deluxe Reverb’s vintage aesthetics, with smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, aged in-house here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. The amp retains much of its original hardware including handle caps, chassis straps, and the raised Fender logo on the grill. The original faceplate retains its full set of witch hat knobs, and this amp is the perfect marriage of modern performance and genuine 1960s vintage Fender tonal purity. A modern two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1965 Fender Bassman Black Panel Piggyback Vintage Tube Amp Head & 2x12 Cab AA165

Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Bassman head and matching 2×12 cab in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This vintage Black Panel Fender amp is very original, and the grillcloth on the head and cabinet is among the nicest we’ve seen. For clarity, warmth, and headroom, this Bassman excels at delivering sweet and articulate Fender clean tones. Once you reach about 5 on the volume dial, the circuit starts to overdrive smoothly and compress a bit, for a raw, thick sound that’s perfect for guitar or bass. It’s a simple and pure vintage Fender “piggyback” head and cab setup that provides a perfect platform for effect pedals and is ready for stage and studio use. Arguably the circuit available for the briefest period of time in the Black Panel era, the AA165 circuit designation is seen on many tube charts (Leo Fender was never one to waste anything), but under the hood, the actual AA165 circuit was only seen for a number of months in’65 before transitioning to the AB165 that would be seen through 1968. This amp is one of few to retain the original AA165 guts. The circuit retains all of the original transformers which date to early 1965 along with the CTS pots and chassis stamp. Both the preamp and power amp have been thoroughly maintained, with new Sprague Atom main filter caps and smaller Mallory caps in the preamp to ensure that the amp is operating within original factory spec. The amp features a modern three-prong power cable as well. On the inside of the head cabinet, the original tube chart is present with an “OG” date stamp which translates to July of 1965. The speaker cab is loaded with a pair of vintage Utah 12 speakers. These speakers are detailed, clear, and quite punchy, overdriving with very rich and balanced overtones. Tested against vintage pairs of Oxfords and Jensens, these Utahs were a surprise favorite, and the original black frames are quite clean, retaining the blue foil Fender labels on the magnets. Cosmetically, this is a clean and well cared for Bassman with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. All of the original hardware is present, including the tilt-back chrome legs, nickel corners, handles, sphinx glides (feet), and raised Fender logos. The original faceplate is also quite clean and complete with original witch hat knobs. There’s a bit of patina on the hardware, and some expected scuffs and minor wear around the edges of the enclosures, but as the photos show, this Bassman presents very well and would look great in a studio collection. This Bassman is clean, complete, and works exactly as intended for delivering powerful Fender cleans and thick overdriven textures. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1964 Fender Bassman Black Panel Piggyback Vintage Tube Amp Pre-CBS AA864 Circuit

Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Bassman head and matching 2×12 speaker cab, recently serviced and very original. This vintage Pre-CBS “Black Panel” Fender amp features the AA864 circuit, the earliest and most coveted circuit used throughout this era of production. It’s a simple and pure vintage Fender “piggyback” head and cab setup that provides a perfect platform for effects pedals, and is ready for stage and studio use. It’s worth noting that with Black Panel Bassmans, three distinct circuits were used, and more often than not the circuit noted on the tube chart isn’t the same as what’s “under the hood, ” yet with this particular Bassman it does indeed come as advertised and is a true AA864 model. All of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors in the preamp are intact, and these caps are an essential part of the sweet and musical sound of the Black Panel amps. Both the main filter caps and smaller bypass caps have been replaced with high quality Spragues to keep the amp operating within original factory spec. The stock CTS pots date to between late 1963 and early’64, and the stock Schumacher transformers at the heart of the amp also date to 1964. On the inside of the head cabinet, the original tube chart is present. The tubes consist of a pair of properly biased Sovtek 5881 (6L6) power tubes, along with a host of modern preamp tubes from Electro Harmonix. The speaker cab is loaded with a pair of era-correct ceramic magnet Oxford 12T6 12 drivers, and these speakers have both recently been professionally reconed and feature bronze frames. Oxfords provide a very balanced and warm tone for Black Panel Fenders, and this pair keeps the bass response rich and dynamic, offering a sound both tight and warm with sparkling trebles. Cosmetically, this Bassman retains the original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth on both the head and speaker cabinet. The grillcloth has darkened significantly on the head and cab, and all of the original hardware is present including Pat. Pending tilt-back chrome legs, nickel corners, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), and the stock pair of raised Fender logos. The faceplate is complete with original witch hat knobs and retains the Fender Electric Instrument Co. Text indicative of a Pre-CBS Fender amp. This Bassman is complete, recently retubed, and works exactly as intended for delivering powerful Fender cleans and thick overdriven textures. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Leak Stereo 50 vintage tube power amplifier upgraded Black Gate, Mullard & more

Before you call me crazy for the list price, please read below carefully… The upgrade started with a full factory condition 60-year-old Leak Stereo 50 from my personal collection, which I decided to be giving all the best possible components that an amp can ever get. All electrolytic capacitors are changed to Rubycon Black Gate F and Elna Cerafine. 3x 47+47uF 500V Elna Cerafine. 4x 220uF 50V Black Gate F. 2x 47uF 25V Black Gate F. 4x vintage NOS Jensen Aluminium PIO coupling capacitors for the power tubes. Vintage Philips HQ caps for the preamp tubes. NOS Telefunken GZ34 / 5AR4 West Germany rectifier tube. Quartett of Mullard Blackburn Gr. Britain EL34 power tubes (3x XF3, 1x XF2). Vintage 1x Mullard Blackburn ECC83, 2x RFT Germany ECC83. Genuine WBT NextGen 0708cu banana speaker terminals. The amplifier is perfect working and with these components combines the classic British tube warmth with the focus, precision, detail, soundstaging of the best modern amps. The Black Gate, Cerafine caps work wonders in terms of supreme sound quality, controlled bass, dynamics, while the Mullard EL34 tube together with the Jensen caps provide the amplifier an authentic, palpable, lifelike sound that is hard to believe. I was finetuning the sound using a pair of JBL 4343 studio monsters. Now about the German components: The Telefunken GZ34 and the 2x RFT ECC83 are installed with a good intent, to bring some more precision and control to the sound… Not too little, not too much, just the right balance (they are needed there, believe me). With the Mullard ECC83 on the forefront, match made in heaven. Again, the components and the tubeset is not installed on the look what I found in the closet basis! I was spending weeks of listening, then tube rolling and changing components to get to this sound signature. TCC original 16+16 and 32+32 caps back along with NOS Philips 100uF 50V and put Roederstein (ERO) coupling caps, then install a quartet of NOS Siemens EL34 tubes and maybe a new production JJ G34 and off you get an instant EUR1000 off the price… And also majority of the sound magic off as well! You decide, if you like this way or the other, please let me know! Well let me tell you a story: a month ago a nice little amp, called Marantz 8B walked through my door onto the bench and with a full Black Gate upgrade now sounds better to my ears than the Leak of course talking about a couple more thousands of Euros too.. Amp is EU voltage: 210-250Volts! This is a genuine sales and thus I guarantee that what is in the pictures is exactly what you get unless if you want that EUR1000 off and all those expensive parts out… I do guarantee that you will receive a perfectly working amplifier, that is in a decent original factory visual condition (considering 60years of paint on it, obviously not sratch-free, see pictures for reference). The item “Leak Stereo 50 vintage tube power amplifier upgraded Black Gate, Mullard & more” is in sale since Monday, May 17, 2021. 100w, all valve amplifier with a fuzz channel, also valve driven. Basically the Laney Supergroup of Black Sabbath fame, plus that valve fuzz to replace the effects unit they used. This has been fully serviced, sorted with new caps and a bias mod so it can be adjusted to suit the inconsistencies of modern valves, good to go. Partridge transformers for great low end extension and girth. Various mains voltage options also. Can do a deal if you want to take it unloaded. Prob should note I’m in the habit of blocking people who make silly lowball offers, not worth the time. Obviously this is a heavy lump, but I can have it couriered, would massively prefer collection though.
