Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Bandmaster in mint condition and in good working order. A “best of both worlds” amp for a player that seeks a like-new appearance, optimal reliability, and a lush, all-tube sound with vintage circuitry, this Bandmaster is a stunning example. Professionally retolexed and regrilled with vintage-correct materials and patterns, this Bandmaster is loaded with a modern pair of Jensen C12N speakers, while the circuit is 100% original. This 40 watt Black Panel Fender powerhouse has the powerful, balanced cleans and smooth tube overdrive at high volumes that you expect from a vintage Fender from this era. The cleans are warm and articulate, with Fender’s sparkly top end and the ability to dial in just the right amount of grit and light tube compression. The preamp retains all of the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps, essential to the sweet, musical sound of the Black Panel circuits, and the original Schumacher-made transformers all date to 1965. The Stackpole pots have late’65 date codes, and the tube chart rounds out the applicable dates with a “PB” stamp that translates to February of 1966. Even the original power supply caps are intact and still viable. The tube complement includes a brand new pair of properly biased 6L6 power tube pair, with a host of mostly vintage valves in the preamp from the likes of RCA and Sylvania. The cabinet is stocked with a modern pair of Jensen C12N 12 speakers with immaculate deep green frames and original cones. The cabinet has also been fitted with new sound dampening foam sheets. The head and speaker cabinet have been professionally retolexed with correct smooth black tolex, cut in vintage-correct patterns, along with new silver sparkle grillcloth on both enclosures. Both the head and cabinet retain their original raised “Fender” logos, and the gleaming hardware includes new nickel corners, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, and chrome tilt-back legs. You simply won’t find a better vintage Blackface Fender at this price point, and the Bandmaster truly delivers on the promise of the AB763 circuit, with incredible cleans, smooth overdrive and strong tremolo! When it comes to pure, simple, straight forward style and tone… THIS IS THE DEAL! Designed to work for bass or guitar it is BEAUTIFUL, STUNNING, AWESOME. This is a VINTAGE 1967 NATIONAL BASS AMP. MODEL 70 TUBE AMPLIFIER with TWO C12NA JENSEN SPEAKERS, THINK SUPRO, VALCO, AIRLINE. It is a combo amp with two independent 35 watt. Power amplifiers, one for each speaker. It is complete and functions properly. The controls are clean, no scratchy pots. The tube line up… Two matched pairs of Russian Sovtek 6L6′s (one pair branded Fender, the other branded Electro Harmonix), a USA RCA 12AX7 and a Russian Winged C 12AX7. It has a few dings and scuffs and some light staining of the grill cloth, but overall in exceptional condition, especially considering it is over 50 years old. There are three different tone setting that give you control of the bottom end of the tone spectrum… Guitar=light bass, Hi Bass=more bass, Low Bass=rich, thick, meaty, all-you-could-possibly-want, most bass. This amp sounds awesome. Articulate, clean power even at higher levels. BIG KNOBS, CHROME CHASSIS, GOLD’NATIONAL’ LOGO, SILVER SPARKLE GRILL CLOTH, TWO TEXTURES OF TOLEX with PIPING, REFRIGERATOR HANDLE… A 1960′s WORK OF ART! I never use UPS. As a basic test I have operated this amp for at least 4 hour recently and it did not fail, smoke, blow fuses, etc. Old electronic can fail at any time. Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet and knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls. You should not have to live with something you are unhappy with for any reason. If you alter, modify, change or “repair” the item in anyway without my consent, you are accepting the item “as is”, at the price paid. All items are packed for safety. Often requiring reassembly, tuning and/or adjusting. We will work through the claim together until things are right. 1966 Fender Twin Reverb Blackface Vintage Tube Amp 2x12 Jensen C12N, Footswitch

Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Twin Reverb in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch and Fender-branded Jensen C12N speaker pair. Stunningly clean, this Twin’s condition is all the more uncommon given its size. While Fender’s smaller combos of the era can occasionally be found in pristine shape, it’s significantly rarer to find Fender’s gig-worthy large combos (which generally saw much rougher usage) as well-kept as this example. This Twin delivers warm, articulate cleans with ample bass response, a wide-ranging and responsive EQ, and present, sparkling Fender top end. When it comes to the quintessential Blackface Fender amp for clarity, headroom, and the balanced, authoritative response of a four 6L6 driven tube amp, it’s hard to beat the Twin. The tube-driven Reverb effect has incredibly depth and splash, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with a wide range of speeds. It’s as iconic a design as Leo Fender ever created, also very well-suited to amplifying pedal steel or electric piano in the vein of a Wurlitzer or Fender Rhodes. The circuit is extremely clean and straight, with all of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors in the preamp, a key part of the sweet, musical character of the Blackface-era preamps. The preamp features just a few new electrolytic caps, and the main filter caps have also been replaced with high quality F&Ts to guarantee decades of future trouble-free use. The power tubes are a quad of properly biased TAD 6L6GCs, and the preamp tubes are mostly modern valves as well from the likes of Tung Sol and JJ, while also including a pair of vintage Phillips 12AT7s for the reverb driver and phase inverter. All of the original Schumacher-made transformers are intact with dates spanning late 1965 to the first weeks of’66, and the original CTS pots have visible date codes from the 49th week of’65. The speakers are the original pair of Jensen C12Ns with Fender brown and gold foil labels on the ceramic magnets. The most favored speaker compliment for the Twin and also among the rarest, these speakers have clean black frames and date stamps from the 4th week of’66. These speakers easily handle the power of the Twin, and the speaker harness is original too. The tube chart is fully intact, with crisp corners and virtually unfaded paper, stamped with a bold “PC” date code which translates to March of 1966. The original black tolex is exceptionally clean, with only a few minor marks, primarily on the edges framing the grillcloth. The silver sparkle grillcloth shows only very faint darkening over the decades, and the faceplate is near mint, retaining its full compliment of original witch hat knobs. All of the original hardware is present and positively gleaming (save for some minor scuffs on the corners), including the chrome tilt back legs, nickel corners, sphinx glides, handle, and raised Fender logo on the amp’s face. The original two-button footswitch is included, along with an aftermarket cover. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1966 Fender Pro Reverb Blackface Vintage Tube Amp 2x12 Jensen C12N AA165 with Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Pro Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Jensen C12N speaker pair and two-button footswitch. Providing the general tonal character of a Twin Reverb, but boasting a tube rectifier and more manageable 40 watts of power, the Pro Reverb is a 2×12 amplifier with enough volume for large ensemble situations and the perfect balance between shimmering Blackface cleans and smooth, touch sensitive overdrive. A great platform for effects pedals too, the cleans on this Pro are balanced, clear, and warm. Of course once you reach around 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly, and you get that dynamic, glassy sound that adds just the right amount of grit to your tone. The Reverb has plenty of depth and splash, and the Tremolo has a nice deep chop. Very original and well maintained, this Pro Reverb is ready for stage and studio use. The circuit is extremely original, with the original compliment of Schumacher transformers (Fender’s largest supplier of Blackface-era transformers), dating between late 1965 and the first weeks of’66. The stock CTS pots are all intact as well, dating to late’65, and the chassis stamp notes a 1966 build date. The preamp is untouched save for a few small electrolytic capacitors, and the amp retains all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps which are a hallmark of the Blackface sound. The power supply has also been professionally recapped. A modern three-prong power cable has been installed, and the amp is loaded with mostly vintage valves including a pair of likely original RCA 6L6GC power tubes. The speakers are the original pair of Jensen C12NA 12 ceramic drivers, and the speakers date to the 30th week of’65 with original foil stickers on the magnets and clan black frames. The tube chart is also fully intact inside the cabinet with crisp corners and a PB stamp which translates to February of 1966. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth is intact and in great shape, showing only light wear and still looking surprisingly clean after half a century. The cloth has only faint aging, and the tolex shows only some minor scuffs and nicks on the edges of the enclosure. The stock hardware is in great shape including original tilt back legs, chassis straps, corners, sphinx glides (feet), and handle. The faceplate is extremely clean, with a full compliment of witch hat knobs. This Pro Reverb has vintage tubes, a very original circuit, and a desirable Jensen C12NA speaker pair, sounding every bit as good as a Blackface Fender should! The original two-button footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1965 Fender Bassman Blackface Piggyback Vintage Tube Amp AA165, Jensen C12N

Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Bassman head and matching 2×12 cab loaded with vintage Jensen C12N speakers in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This vintage Blackface Fender amp is very original and complete with fresh JJ 6L6 power tubes. For clarity, warmth, and headroom, this Bassman excels at delivering sweet and articulate Fender clean tones. Once you reach about 5 on the volume dial, the circuit starts to overdrive smoothly and compress a bit, for a raw, thick sound that’s perfect for guitar or bass. It’s a simple and pure vintage Fender “piggyback” head and cab setup that provides a perfect platform for effect pedals, and is ready for stage and studio use. Arguably the circuit available for the briefest period of time in the Blackface era, the AA165 circuit designation is seen on many tube charts (Leo Fender was never one to waste anything), but under the hood, the actual AA165 circuit was only seen for a few months in early’65 before transitioning to the AB165 that would be seen through 1968. This amp is one of few to retain the original AA165 guts! The circuit retains all of the original transformers which date to early 1965 along with the CTS pots and chassis stamp. The majority of the original blue molded Ajax caps are present in the preamp and the circuit has been thoroughly maintained with new main filter caps and a few smaller Mallory caps in the preamp to ensure that the amp is operating within original factory spec. On the inside of the head cabinet, the original tube chart is present with a “OG” date stamp which translates to July of 1965. The amp features a modern three-prong power cable as well. The speaker cab is loaded with a pair of vintage Jensen C12N speakers, and these 12 drivers are arguably the most desirable speakers for the Blackface Bassman. These speakers are detailed, clear, and well balanced, overdriving with very rich and balanced overtones. The dark greenish blue frames are quite clean, and the speakers date to early 1964. Cosmetically, this is a clean and well cared for Bassman with original smooth black tolex. A new solid pine baffle has been installed (superior in both tone and reliability over the stock MDF baffle) and new silver sparkle grillcloth has been installed on both the head and cab and appropriately aged. Most of the original hardware is present, including the tilt-back chrome legs, nickel corners, handles, and sphinx glides (feet). Both Fender logos are modern replacements. The original faceplate is also quite clean and complete with original witch hat knobs. There’s a bit of patina on the hardware, and some expected scuffs and minor wear around the edges of the enclosures, but as the photos show, this Bassman presents very well and wound look great in a studio collection. This Bassman is clean, complete, and works exactly as intended for delivering powerful Fender cleans and thick overdriven textures. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Bassman head and matching 2×12 cab loaded with stock Jensen C12N speakers and complete with fresh Tung Sol power tubes and original RCA preamp tubes. 100% original aside from a new bias cap and three-prong power cable, this vintage Blackface Fender amp is a true AA165 circuit Bassman with a Pre-CBS “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate and date codes between late 1964 and early’65. On this particular amp the tube chart still refers to the earlier AA864 circuit, but the chassis layout conforms to AA165 specs. The circuit retains all of the original transformers with a power transformer dating to the 46th week of 1964 and a power transformer that dates to the second week of’65. All of the original blue molded Ajax caps are present in the preamp and the amp even retains all of the stock filter caps which are working as intended with no leakage. On the inside of the head cabinet, the original tube chart is present with a “OB” date stamp which translates to February of 1965. The amp is fitted with a modern three-prong cable. The tubes consist of a pair of brand new and properly biased Tung Sol 5881 (6L6GC) power tubes, along with a trio of RCA 12AX7s and a General Electric 12AT7 phase inverter tube. The speaker cab is loaded with a pair of original Jensen C12N speakers, and these 12 drivers are arguably the most desirable speakers for the Blackface Bassman. These speakers are detailed, clear, and well balanced, overdriving with very rich and balanced overtones. The frames are very clean, the original gold Jensen/Fender labels are present, and both speakers have their original cones. Cosmetically, this is a clean and well cared for Bassman with original smooth black tolex on the head and speaker cabinet. The grillcloth on the cabinet is original as well, while the head has genuine vintage cloth with aging consistent to the cab. There are only a few requisite scuffs and nicks on the edges of the enclosures, as well as one small bald spot on the cab just north of the front left corner. All of the original hardware is present, including the tilt-back chrome legs, nickel corners, handles, sphinx glides (feet), and Fender logos. The faceplate is also quite clean and complete with original witch hat knobs. There’s a bit of light patina on the hardware as well as faint aging of the grillcloth on the cab in particular, but that’s about the extent of any wear! This Bassman is clean, complete, and works exactly as intended for delivering powerful Fender cleans and thick overdriven textures. 1962 Fender Bassman 6G6B Blonde Brownface Vintage Piggyback Tube Amp Jensen C12N

Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Bassman in excellent condition and in perfect working order. An early iteration of the “Piggyback” version of this amplifier with rough blonde tolex and oxblood grillcloth, this Brownface Bassman drives two vintage General Electric 6L6GC power tubes for 40 powerful watts of pure tube goodness. Like the Tweed amps that preceded it, the Brownface circuits respond well to picking dynamics with Fender’s hi-fi, glassy clean tones. The EQ controls have a huge range and after around 5 on the volume dial the amp cascades into very rich tube overdrive that compresses noticeably and sounds great. It’s the kind of natural tube saturation that only comes from pushing a well designed Fender circuit to its limit. A Pre-CBS Fender Blonde Bassman was used on more Beatles recording sessions than the Vox AC30, was a particular favorite of Pete Townshend, and has become the amp forever linked with Brian Setzer’s classic Rockabilly tones. It’s hard to beat the Bassman for a tone that bridges the gap between the warmth and nuance of the Brownface circuits and the shimmery cleans of the Blackface line! The circuit is very original and has been well maintained and recently serviced with fresh filter caps and a modern three-prong power cable. All of the famed blue Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp, with stock Stackpole pots, carbon comp resistors, and cloth wire. All of the Schumacher transformers are original with mid 1962 date codes. The output transformer dates to the 17th week of’62, while the power transformer dates to the 20th week of that year. The tube chart is mostly intact too. The tube compliment includes a pair of vintage General Electric 6L6GC power tubes that have been properly biased, and the preamp tubes are mostly vintage valves as well from the likes of RCA and General Electric. The speaker cabinet is a rare transitional small box design that has the same dimensions as the 1×12 Tone Ring cab that preceded it, along with the internal “fins” on the back panel and a partial central divider on the original baffle. Fitted with a pair of vintage Jensen C12N speakers, these drivers are an optimal pairing for the 6G6B Bassman circuit, and while these speakers aren’t original, they do date to early 1964 and are the same make and model used in many’60s Bassmans. Cosmetically, this is an excellent and well kept example of one of Fender’s most desirable Pre-CBS circuits. Both the head and cabinet retain their original rough blonde tolex and oxblood grillcloth. In terms of hardware, the plastic “dogbone” handle on the head is original, while the handle on the cab is a modern replacement. The original faceplate is intact and quite clean, complete with original white barrel knobs. All other hardware is 100% stock, with original tilt-back chrome legs and stops, sphinx glides (feet), flat metal Fender logos, nickel corners and piggyback clip bars. 1967 Fender Twin Reverb Vintage Blackface Tube Amp Blonde Tolex, Jensen C12N

Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Twin Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. One of the last amps from’67 to retain the Blackface AB763 circuit, this amp has been thoroughly serviced in-house here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar and is studio ready. The very original’67 chassis has been matched with a vintage pair of Jensen C12N speakers and a new Mojotone solid pine speaker cabinet with new smooth blonde tolex and gold sparkle grillcloth, reminiscent of Fender’s transitional’64 specs. The tone is full on Blackface power and sparkle with rich cleans that exemplify the kind of clarity and sweetness for which the AB763 circuit is known. The reverb has a particularly lush sound and strong decay, while the tremolo throbs with the best. A perfect platform for pedals and ideal for amplifying everything from a guitar or pedal steel to your favorite Fender Rhodes or vintage combo organ, this Twin Reverb is dialed in to sound its best. The circuit is very original, retaining all of the stock transformers with 1967 date codes, and the CTS pots date to late’67 as well. The preamp has been thoroughly serviced with new Sprague Orange Drop tone caps and smaller bypass caps, and the power amp has been freshly recapped as well to ensure stable, reliable use. The speakers are a matched pair of Jensen C12Ns from early’68. Both of these speakers have been freshly reconed and sound great with tight, focused tone and plenty of power. Cosmetically, this amp is near mint as one would expect, given the brand new tolex and grillcloth on the new Mojotone speaker cab. The faceplate is a new reissue Blackface-style plate paired with all of the original witch hat knobs. The chassis straps are original, while the corners and sphinx glides (feet) are modern. Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Bassman head and matching 2×12 cab loaded with stock Jensen C12N speakers and complete with a host of vintage RCA and Telefunken tubes. This fully serviced vintage Blackface Fender amp is a true AA165 circuit Bassman with a Pre-CBS “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate and early’65 date codes. Arguably the circuit available for the briefest period of time in the Blackface era, the AA165 circuit designation is seen on many tube charts (Leo Fender was never one to waste anything), but under the hood, the actual AA165 circuit was only seen for a few months in early’65 before transitioning to the AB15 that would be seen through 1968. The circuit retains all of the original transformers which all date to the first weeks of 1965 along with the CTS pots and chassis stamp. All of the original blue molded Ajax caps are present in the preamp and the amp has just been professionally recapped with new filter and bypass caps as necessary to keep the amp operating in tip-top shape. On the inside of the head cabinet, the original tube chart is present with a “OD” date stamp which translates to April of 1965. The amp is fitted with a modern three-prong cable. The tubes consist of a pair of vintage RCA 6L6GC power tubes, along with a trio of RCA 12AX7s and a Telefunken 12AT7 phase inverter tube. The power tubes are properly biased and sound particularly lush and hi-fi, and the Telefunken has a distinct tightness and headroom. The speaker cab is loaded with a pair of original Jensen C12N speakers, and these 12 drivers are arguably the most desirable speakers for the Blackface Bassman. These speakers are detailed, clear, and well balanced, overdriving with very rich and balanced overtones. The frames are very clean, the original gold Jensen labels are present, and both speakers have their original cones. Cosmetically, this is a clean and well cared for Bassman with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth on both the head and speaker cabinet. There are only a few requisite scuffs and nicks on the edges of the enclosures, and this amp would look great in a studio collection. All of the original hardware is present, including the tilt-back chrome legs, nickel corners, handles, sphinx glides (feet), and Fender logos. The faceplate is also quite clean and complete with original witch hat knobs. There’s a bit of light patina on the hardware as well as faint aging of the grillcloth on the head in particular, but that’s about the extent of any wear! This Bassman is clean, complete, and works exactly as intended for delivering powerful Fender cleans and thick overdriven textures.
