Vintage Silvertone 1333 Tube Type Guitar Amp 1956. I received this amp several years ago and it has set in my office since then. This must have been a barn find for someone, because it was exposed to moisture. The cabinet is very solid tho discolored. The speaker has some rust on the frame and parts of the chassis has some corrosion on it. I took the chassis out and it looked like previous work had been done with wrong value parts put in it. I’m sending the schematic with the amp. It shows all values and voltage test points. I recapped it using new tested caps. Three for the filter section, a couple of 25uf at 35 volts, a. 5 cap, and several resistors. No other cap were replaced. I sprayed the pots with DeOxit. I fixed the 6X5GT socket as one of the rivets broke so it is now screwed in. I replaced the power cord with a 3 prong grounded cord. I put a new leather (time period correct) handle on it. The feet were missing so I put on 4 new feet. I then gave it a gentle wipe down, nothing serous. The knobs for tremelo control were missing so I will put something similar on it. The cabinet is a little scuffed up. There is a Silvertone badge on the grill and the grill cover is not torn. None of the tubes were any good and so I put in a really nice set of tubes. The 6SC7GT is a bit rare as the base says it is a 6SU7WGT and the glass says it’s a 6SC7GT. It tests as a new 6SC7GT so it is going with the amp just because it sounds so good. Next I put it back together and turned it on with the volume turned down and went and got a guitar while it was warming up. When I got back, I put my ear by the speaker and heard nothing. I turned the volume up and heard what I hoped to hear, barley nothing. I plugged the guitar in, turned the volume up a little and this amp sounds great with lot of volume, tone and very quiet. The controls are very quiet as they are turned. The tremolo however is not working. The pictures tell the rest of the story and are part of the cosmetic description so please take a close LOOK at them. You will receive the item(s) pictured. This will be expertly packed with foam in place packs to help insure a safe arrival. The tubes will be placed in tube boxes and stored in the cabinet to protect them. We don’t mess around. We use new boxes and bubble wrap for packing. This leaves no mess in your office and you can just toss them when cleaning up. Up for sale, a 1964 Silvertone model 1457 “Amp-in-Case” electric guitar in excellent, 100% original condition, with original tube amplifier built into the case. Manufactured in the USA by Danelectro for the Sears exclusive “Silvertone” line of instruments, this guitar sports a Red Sunburst sparkle finish over the classic hollow Masonite and poplar body with a pair of “lipstick” single coil pickups. This guitar has a particularly cool hollow twang, with chiming top end and focused bass response, and the pickups have all the jangle, sparkle, and twang you’d expect from this little vintage wonder. Weighing only 6lbs 3oz (without the amp), the guitar has been professionally setup here at Mike and Mikes Guitar Bar with low, comfortable action. The Danelectro-made Silvertone guitars have been seen in the hands of artists such as Beck and the Rolling Stones, and in addition to being fun to play, they’re a great secret weapon for studio use. Outfitted with the original tube set, the amp fires up just as well as the day it left the factory, with a low noise floor and great class A tube tone. The neck has a fast and slender C profile with modest shoulder, measuring. 728 deep at the 1st fret and. 848 at the 12th. The frets are in great shape, with well-rounded crowns and their full factory height. The aluminum nut measures 1 5/8 in width, and aluminum further accentuates the top end sparkle and snap of the pickups. The stock Skate Key tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well and the face of the headstock retains a near mint “Silvertone” script silkscreen. On the body, the original lipstick pickups and chrome bridge with Brazilian rosewood saddle are intact. The electronics are untouched, with the pots still surrounded by the original copper shielding tape and date codes from the 36th week of’64. The stock pickguard and stacked volume/tone knobs are present as well and bright white, and even the original ambered cable retainer is still screwed to the guard. The Red Sunburst sparkle finish is remarkably clean, original, and well cared for, with a vibrant fade from cherry to deep maroon on the edges of the body. There’s plenty of silver sparkles left on the finish too, and this is significant since the sparkles are on top of the finish and first to go. There is light, natural palm wear through the finish at the treble side edge of the profile behind the 1st fret, and only a few light scuffs and nicks on the guitar as a whole. The amplifier case is in good overall shape, with original wicker grillcloth, stock Jensen C8R speaker which dates to’64, and a control panel that retains the original knobs and vibrant silkscreen graphics. The Silvertone-branded tube compliment is entirely original, with an RCA-made 6V6 power tube and 6X4 rectifier, as well as two ECC83 Amperex valves, made in Holland. The dark gray sparkle case retains the original hinges and handle, and is structurally sound. There is some edge wear on the case corners, but nothing structural. The amp has a nice barking tone with a tremolo that delivers a strong chop, pairing ideally with the tonal range of the lipstick pickups. Up for sale, a 1963 Airline Montgomery Ward model. 62-9015A in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, this Airline amp was manufactured by Danelectro in the USA and boasts a two 12 Jensen C120Q speakers and a dual 6L6-based output tube compliment. A two channel affair, this amp boasts both Reverb and Tremolo, with warm, detailed cleans at lower settings and smooth tube overdrive with some aggressive snap at high volumes. One of Dano’s larger amps, the. 62-9015A (an amp was never more in need of a more inspiring name) is a dynamic, powerful all-tube machine that works great with a wide range of pickups. The circuit retains the original transformers, and the chassis has clean chrome with original black silkscreen graphics and original large black barrel knobs. The tube compliment includes a brand new properly-biased pair of Tung Sol 6L6 power tubes, with a vintage GE 5Y3 rectifier and an assortment of vintage valves in the preamp as well. The Jensen speakers are a matched pair with date codes from the 47th week of’63. The dark blue frames show sparingly little wear and both have small Jensen foil labels on the magnets. The original stock dark gray tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, with some wear on the front bottom corners of the enclosure and a few requisite scuffs and light marks of wear. There is some staining on the grillcloth and the back panel is missing, yet overall this is a fine example that functions exactly as it should, is freshly retubed, and has been given a clean bill of health. Up for sale, a 1959 Danelectro Twin Twelve Series D Model 98 tube amplifier in exceptional condition and in good working order. An exceedingly clean and well preserved vintage Danelectro tube amp, the Twin Twelve boasts a two-channel circuit driven by a quartet of fresh JJ 6L6 power tubes. Channel One has tons of bass, with a muscly clean tone that quickly gains a bit of hair when you dig in, with a very rich, churning drive when you dime it out. The low end is burly and full while retaining a certain focus and punch, and the gain is positively ripping. Channel Two is more polite, with far less bass and a more glassy quality, still driving hard when you turn it up. Remolo effect works on both channels and is extremely square wave in nature, cutting through with tons of chop and enough variance in the Speed knob to go from swampy and slow to relatively fast. The circuit is clean and stock, with original CTS pots which date to early’57. The original pair of Utah alnico 12 speakers have clean 1957 date stamps on the magnets as well. The original transformers are intact, and the upper and lower chassis both have extremely clean polished aluminum, with deep brown silkscreening on the upper chassis and the full compliment of original brown molded knobs. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is fully intact too. Cosmetically, this Danelectro is a real stunner, with original gold sparkle grillcloth and a textured blonde covering on the cabinet. There is only light wear and staining on the bottom of the enclosure, and the Danelectro lucite badge is intact on the face. Up for sale, a 1964 Silvertone model 1485 piggyback tube amplifier in exceptional, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order. Produced in the first full year the 1485 model was available, this amp is a stunning example both visually and tonally, boasting the complete original Silvertone branded tube set (with a quad of matched RCA-made gray plate 6L6s no less), original dolly, and six minty Jensen C10Q speakers. The 1485 as advertised by Silvertone pushes a whopping 120 watts, but stripping away the marketing, this amp functions closer to 100 watts via the quad of matched original RCA-made 6L6 power tubes. Extremely powerful and articulate, these amps have much more headroom, punch, and top end response than the smaller 1484, and can produce both bold cleans and roaring overdrive. The smooth articulate crunch of this model has found favor with players across the spectrum, and it responds very well to pedals too. Both channels feature a pair of inputs (high and low) and both channels share the built-in Reverb and Tremolo effects. While the Tremolo has a nice strong pulse that gets quite thick and deep, the Reverb is infamous in its own right for its thin, trashy sound that’s perfect for lo-fi and surf tunes, with a unique gain structure and chimey top end character. The circuit is extremely original, with only a couple smaller caps and a modern three-prong power cord installed to ensure optimal functionality The stock transformers are present, and the original CTS pots date back to the 36th week of’64. The speakers are an incredibly clean sextet of original Jensen C10Q 10 drivers, with minty black frames, original cones, 1964 date codes, and an original, untouched wiring harness. All of the original barrel knobs are intact on the polished aluminum faceplate, which also retains all of the original black silkscreen text. Cosmetically, this Danelectro-made amp is stunning. The original charcoal covering shows sparingly little wear on either the head or cabinet, and the original grillcloth has plenty of sparkle in the gold thread. The head secures into the back of the cabinet with the original swiveling nylon tabs, and even the original dolly is included, screwing into the bottom of the cab with stock screws and retaining a small paper label informing the owner to turn the screws “with a screwdriver or large coin” to attach the dolly. Easily one of the nicest 1485s to surface in years, this amp is a lovely vintage example that’s been given a clean bill of heath from our tech shop and comes complete with the full, original Silvertone-branded tube set. This one is in absolutely stunning condition with minimal wear, no fading to tolex, grill cloth flat and no tears. No Silvertone logo and no evidence of one being there in the past. Has been serviced to include a grounded cord for safety. The 1344 amp began its life as the 1304 in 1949. It became the 1344 in the Fall/Winter catalog of 1950, at which time it had the Silvertone logo applied in the decorative silver band around the amp. The’vibrato’ listing in the catalog is labeled’tremolo’ on the amps. Some cabinet roulette occurred during this period; the innards are nearly identical to the1303, even though the 1303 looks just like a 1300. Introduced: Fall/Winter 1949 Retired: Spring/Summer 1954.
