Gibson EH-100 19401941 Vintage Tube Pre-War Amplifier Amp Combo 80y. Not perfect, check out the pics. They show it all. From the birth of amplified guitar. I think the condition is remarkable considering it’s age. This amp is a surviving piece of electric guitar history. Tube layout in pic. Last variation of the EH-100 before the war. This model cabinet has a separate amp and 10 field coil speaker box [latches together on the sides]. Dimension is 15″x12″x8 when stacked. Speaker box can be rotated around and latched to the amp base for controls on the front or even moved a foot or so away. This example has retained it’s original brown fabric covering and original handle. Gibson logo is very nice. Note pictures for condition. A few nicks and such in cabinet covering and amp chassis. This amp has 2 instrument inputs and one mic input. The volume knob controls the mic input only. The mic input has more gain and is preferred for guitar, eh? Gives guitar some attack and growl. This mic input sound is very desirable on the vintage tube amps of this era. Has been tuned up 10 years ago and up-dated with 3-prong plug for safety. Has been in storage more or less since then. Recommend having it checked by amp tech before using. Tubes are finicky compared to solid state. But the tone of vintage pre-war tube amps is unique. It’s 80 years old. Let me say this again, it’s 80 years old. When you judge it’s condition, please remember that. This amp was always cared for and shows no abuse. Never left in a wet garage or basement. It is ready to play or be displayed in a collection or museum. To be honest, I don’t know really what the market value of this amp is. I have looked at other images of this amp on Google, and this one, is by far the best looking. You be the judge. If I’ve put too high a price on it, let me know and give me your best offer. This amp needs a new home. So make your offer. The item “Gibson EH-100 19401941 Vintage Tube Pre-War Amplifier Amp Combo 80y. O Survivor” is in sale since Friday, May 22, 2020. Vintage 1930's Unmarked Gibson EH-100 Style Tube Guitar Amp Amplifier, Very Rare

For sale here is a very rare and unique vintage late 1930′s Gibson EH-100 or 125 style tube amplifier. I don’t know if this is a prototype 6F6 power tubes? First made in 1935, followed shortly thereafter by the 6V6 and finally the 6L6. , or if it was built for a music store in the late 1930′s. But there is no doubt that it has the same basic components and layout of Gibson amps of the late 1930′s. Utah speaker and matching branded 200 ohm power resistor. Geib Chicago (the company that made all of the early Gibson amp, guitar & other musical instrument cases) gold embossed shield on the inside cabinet along with the Western Electric, ERPI, AT&T gold foil label. It even has the original Geib made case cover! I bought this over 30 years ago, but I never got around to restoring it until now. It was packed in a box that I forgot about actually. I repaired and replaced only what was absolutely necessary for it to work. I replaced 3 capacitors (see photos 6 & 7), a few vacuum tubes with NOS tubes, and the electrical cord (left it non-grounded as originally designed). All of the original resistors still held spec when tested. It now plays and sounds quite good, really. But, if I were going to keep it, I would probably replace the remaining 5 original capacitors, which are all 80 years old now. However, I realize that many collectors want everything as original as possible, so I’ll leave it as-is. Note for Geeks: Check out the photo of the original (still working) Stackpole Volume pot; Date of Manufacture… Just an FYI that the one (Stackpole)Volume control knob on these style of vintage amps only controls the volume for the Microphone input. The Instrument input, which makes the guitar sound better when you run through it, has no attenuation, meaning you control the output volume with the volume knob(s) on your guitar. Please examine all of the photos, which are of the actual amp for sale in this listing, carefully and ask questions if you have any. Final word, this amp is a ridiculous bargain only because it doesn’t have a Gibson logo on it, even though it rolled off the same assembly line in the 1930′s.
