1974 Fender Super Six Reverb Vintage Silverface Tube Amp 6x10 with Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1974 Fender Super Six Reverb in excellent condition and in good working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch. One of the most imposing and powerful vintage tube amps ever concocted by Fender, this Super Six Reverb essentially combines the circuit and chassis of a Twin Reverb with six 10 CTS speakers, identical to what you’d find in a Super Reverb. Well-kept and professionally maintained, this Super Six delivers detailed and powerful clean tones that easily fill a room and keep up with any band. The amp has sweet, musical overdrive qualities as well when you really push the circuit, and with the Master Volume the Super Six can be pushed hard for breakup or dialed back for use in more modest situations. Add Fender’s tube driven reverb and optical tremolo circuit and you have the perfect platform for a wide range of genres. The circuit features all original transformers which date to 1974, and the preamp is virtually untouched save for a couple modern Sprague electrolytics. Visible codes on the CTS pots date to the 2nd week of’74. The amp has been recently retubed as well with a matched quad of Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tubes, along with all of the original matched RCA preamp tubes. The sextet of original CTS 10 speakers are present with remarkably clean frames and blue foil Fender labels on the alnico magnets, all featuring viable cones. These speakers have clean date codes from the 18th week of 1974 on the edges of the frames. The amp retains its original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with orange stripe, quite well-kept and an ideal candidate for the studio. Given the sheer size of the Super Six and its stage-centric design, it’s very rare to see one as preserved as this example. There’s a bit of wear on the enclosure edges, and plenty of sparkle left in the grillcloth. All of the original hardware is present including the corners, handle caps, and chassis straps, all of which show uniform surface patina. The Silverface faceplate retains all of the original witch hat knobs, and even the original set of casters is present, mounting on the side as per factory spec. The original two-button footswitch is included. The item “1974 Fender Super Six Reverb Vintage Silverface Tube Amp 6×10 with Ftsw” is in sale since Monday, October 18, 2021. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a two-button footswitch. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has been thoroughly serviced with an eye towards reliable gig and studio-worthy performance, updated to run on 6L6 power tubes for additional clean headroom and power. Boasting a new MojoTone speaker cabinet, a full complement of Mercury Magnetics Tone Clone transformers, a Sprague Atom recapped power supply, TRS effects loop, and reconed vintage Fender/Oxford speaker, this particular Deluxe bridges the gap in tonal richness and modern functionality between a genuine vintage example and Fender’s recent Custom Shop’64 model. Stocked with a matched pair of Groove Tubes 6L6 power tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp delivers the top end sparkle and clarity characteristic of the best amps from Fender’s Black Panel era, a perfect platform for a host of effects pedals. Turning up past 5 on the Volume dial, the amp begins to push into overdrive territory with light compression and plenty of bark and body. The Reverb is lush with long decay, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit boasts Mercury Magnetics Tone Clone transformers, the same high-quality USA-made iron that Fender uses for their highest tier Custom Shop amps. These transformers are extremely reliable and tonally rich, utilizing the same premium materials and techniques that make the originals so revered. The preamp is extremely original with cloth covered leads on the eyelet board, the original set of CTS pots which have visible date codes from the 13th week of’66, and the majority of the blue molded Ajax capacitors, central to the sweet, musical character of the Black Panel amps. The power supply has been professionally recapped with high quality Sprague Atoms, and a three-prong cable has been installed too. The speaker is a vintage Oxford 12L6 ceramic driver which dates to the 18th week of 1965. The speaker has a clean frame and Fender foil label on the magnet, recently reconed for optimal reliability and life, and broken in enough to not sound stiff. The cabinet is a brand new vintage reissue courtesy of MojoTone, crafted of solid finger-jointed pine with a 100% void-free baltic birch baffle. This cabinet sounds lively and is a perfect match for the Deluxe Reverb’s vintage aesthetics, with smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, aged in-house here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. The amp retains much of its original hardware including handle caps, chassis straps, and the raised Fender logo on the grill. The original faceplate retains its full set of witch hat knobs, and this amp is the perfect marriage of modern performance and genuine 1960s vintage Fender tonal purity. A modern two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Pro Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, freshly serviced and complete with the original two-button footswitch. Providing the general tonal character of a Twin Reverb, but boasting a tube rectifier and more manageable 40 watts of power, the Pro Reverb is a 2×12 amplifier with enough volume for large ensemble situations and the perfect balance between shimmering Blackface cleans and smooth, touch-sensitive overdrive. A great platform for effects pedals too, the cleans on this Pro are balanced, clear, and warm. Of course once you reach around 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly, and you get that dynamic, glassy sound that adds just the right amount of grit to your tone. The tube-driven Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension, and the Tremolo has a strong, smooth pulse and wide range of speeds. The circuit has just been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, and the preamp is extremely original, retaining nearly all of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors which are a hallmark of the sweet, musical character of the Blackface-era amps. The preamp features new small bias and bypass capacitors, and the stock CTS pots are all intact as well, dating to late’65. All of the original transformers are intact, manufactured by Schumacher, dating to the last weeks of 1965. The power supply has been freshly recapped with Sprague Atoms, and a modern three-prong power cable has been installed. The tube compliment includes a pair of JJ 6L6 power tubes, along with a Sovtek 5AR4 rectifier, and an assortment of modern valves in the preamp from the likes of Sovtek and JJ. The speakers are the original pair of Utah-made and Fender-branded 12 ceramic drivers with matching date codes from the 18th week of’66. The original speaker harness is intact too. The tube chart is fully intact with crisp corners. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth is intact, with some modest edge wear and a couple bald corners on the enclosure, as well as aging of the grill. The stock hardware includes the original tilt back legs, chassis straps, corners, handle, and sphinx glides (feet). This Pro Reverb has freshly biased tubes and sounds every bit as good as a Blackface Fender should. The original two-button footswitch for engaging the Reverb and Tremolo is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1963 Ampeg Reverberocket R-12R Vintage Tube Amp Blue Diamond, Jensen C12R, Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1963 Ampeg R-12R Reverberocket in exceptional condition and perfect working order. The amp is complete with the original blue diamond tolex, Jensen C12R speaker, and footswitch, loaded with a bevy of vintage tubes including a matched pair of Hammond 6V6s. Under the oversight of Ampeg founder Everett Hull, Ampeg guitar amps were geared towards Jazz guitarists who wanted clean headroom and zero breakup, but according to former Ampeg employee Ken Fischer (long before starting his own company Trainwreck Amplifiers), there was one model that “slipped through the cracks”, and that was the R-12R Reverberocket. This amp has a fantastically spongy feel with plenty of chewy compression, thanks is large part to the octal preamp tubes (6SN7s and 6SL7s in this case), and picking dynamics are glorious, particularly when the amp is cranked to “edge of breakup” tones. The Reverberocket boasts footswitchable bias-based tremolo, along with onboard reverb (the first amp to do so, predating Fender’s Vibroverb by a year or two), which is thick and lush without sacrificing clarity. The circuit is extremely original, with only a few new Sprague Orange Drop capacitors and a couple 5W resistors in the preamp to keep everything working within original factory spec. The original CTS pots date to the 22nd week of’63, with one modern Alpha pot in the mix as well. Both transformers are original, manufactured for Ampeg by Electrical Windings and both dating to mid-1963. The date stamp on the edge of the original Jensen C12R speaker frame is from the 33rd week of’63, and the speaker has a particularly clean frame and original bell cover with minty Jensen foil sticker. The tube chart is intact inside the cabinet with hand-written tube designations and the original stamped serial number from’63. The tube compliment includes mostly vintage valves, with a matched pair of properly biased Hammond 6V6 power tubes. The chrome faceplate is quite clean, with the majority of the original white silkscreened text intact and just a speckling of light surface patina. All of the original knobs are present too. The original Blue Diamond tolex is extremely well-kept, showing only very minor edge wear and one small tear through the material on the lower right corner with a spot of blue marker touchup. The stock metal corners, feet, and raised Ampeg logo are intact, and the handle is original. The original two-button Reverb/Tremolo footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1963 Fender Vibroverb Vintage Blackface Pre-CBS Tube Amp 1x15 with JBL D130F, Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1963 Fender Vibroverb in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order. An extremely original and stunningly clean example of Fender’s rarest and most desirable Blackface amp, the Vibroverb was only made in the Pre-CBS Fender era, lasting from late-1963 through’64. This is one of the very first Vibroverbs made, with an extremely low A003XX serial number, Production Run #1 stamp on the tube chart, transformers dating between Fall 1962 and Summer’63, and even a brown two-button footswitch, an exceedingly rare accessory only officially offered with the Brownface 2×10 Vibroverbs produced a few months before this Blackface model began production. Perhaps best known for its association with Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Vibroverb delivers 40 tube watts via a pair of 6L6 power tubes and a JBL D130F speaker. The tone is clear and powerful, with dynamic Fender cleans that sparkle and twang. The highly efficient JBL speaker keeps things clean and tight, with very little speaker cone distortion even at high volumes, letting the light compression and velvety tube overdrive of the circuit be heard with stunning clarity when you push the amp near 10 on the volume dial. The Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension with a long decay, and the Vibrato (technically tremolo) has a strong, smooth pulse. The circuit is extremely clean and stock, with all of the original Schumacher-made transformers intact. The rare open bell output transformer dates to the 42nd week of’62, while the choke and power transformer date to the 7th and 27th weeks of’63 respectively. Visible date codes on the Stackpole pots date to the 18th week of’63. The preamp retains its full compliment of original blue molded Ajax caps, a key ingredient of the sweet, musical sound of Fender’s Blackface circuits. The power supply features a professional recap of the main filters with F&T caps, and the smaller bypass caps in the preamp have been upgraded as well, along with the bias cap and pot. The original two-prong gray power cable is still intact. The tubes consist of a modern pair of Sovtek 5881 (6L6) power tubes, with a genuine vintage Mullard GZ34 rectifier and a host of modern and vintage valves in the preamp including a few RCAs. The tube chart is intact and very clean, with crisp corners and an “MK” date stamp for November of 1963. The original JBL D130F speaker has a recone with a WHF cone and proper aluminum dust cap, and the speaker has a full, robust sound with no voice coil rub and incredible articulation. Cosmetically, this amp is an absolute stunner which has likely lived its life in the studio, due to the absence of any notable cosmetic wear. The stock smooth black tolex is exceedingly clean, and the original silver sparkle grillcloth has only aged sparingly, with lots of sparkle left in the thread. The original hardware is all intact and clean, with only the faintest patina on a couple of the corners and on the original Pat. This is a collector-grade and well maintained vintage Fender Vibroverb, ideal for the stage, studio and discerning player! The original brown two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Vibro Champ, freshly serviced and very original. This little Blackface-era Fender wonder delivers five watts of pure Class A tube tone. A surprisingly loud amp with an alnico 8 speaker, this Vibro Champ has just the right amount of glassy, sparkling clean tone before pushing into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive at about 4 on the volume knob. Dynamic, responsive, and absolutely huge sounding when you put a microphone in front of it, it’s hard to beat the Vibro Champ for pure simplicity and great tone. And of course, Fender’s lush sounding tremolo circuit has a strong pulse and wide range of speeds, perfect for subtle shifts in volume or machine gun chop. The preamp is largely original, with new caps and low-noise metal film resistors substituted as needed to keep the amp operating optimally and running quietly. The stock Schumacher-made transformer pair is intact, dating between late 1964 and early’65. Visible date codes on the CTS pots date to the 8th week of’65, and the chassis stamp is from 1965. The tube chart is intact, with an “OG” code which translates to July of 1965. The tube compliment includes a JJ 6V6 power tube, a pair of Mullard-branded preamp tubes, and a vintage JAN/Phillips 5Y3 rectifier. The speaker is a vintage’70s era Fender-branded Oxford 8 with a clean Fender stamp on the alnico magnet. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, with some aging of the gloss and one snag below the Fender logo. The faceplate is well-kept, complete with its full compliment of witch hat knobs. The stock handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), and chassis straps are all intact, and the hardware shows sparingly little surface patina. This Vibro Champ is an ideal example of Blackface tone that sure to delight both collectors and serious players. A modern Fender footswitch to engage the vibrato is included, along with a padded cover. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! The tube chart is intact, noting Production Run #2, complete with an “NL” date stamp which translates to December of’64. Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Princeton in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch. This Brownface era Princeton features the 6G2 circuit, and comes housed in a modern finger-jointed pine cabinet. The Princeton has a tone that is very dynamic and warm, with crystalline clean tones giving way to rich, saturated overdrive as you turn up the Volume knob. The circuit is as pure and straightforward as they come, and the single Tone knob has a surprisingly wide range. The bias based tremolo circuit has a strong, dimensional pulse and particularly broad range of speeds too. The circuit retains the original pair of Schumacher transformers which date to mid’62, and the preamp retains all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps, which have a particularly sweet, musical tonal character. All of the original Stackpole pots are intact, with visible date codes form the 26th week of’62. The tube compliment includes a matched pair of JJ 6V6s, with a pair of Tung Sols in the preamp, along with a vintage RCA rectifier. A replica tube chart has been placed inside the cabinet, and the speaker is a vintage Oxford 10J4, freshly reconed and very sweet sounding. The cabinet is faithfully made to vintage spec with rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth, complete with nickel corners and a leather handle. The original footswitch is included. Up for sale, a 1979 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch and a 100% original, untouched circuit. One of the last amps produced in the original Silverface run, this vintage Fender does everything you’d expect of your favorite mid-size vintage Fender combo, with a balanced, sparkly clean tone and just the right amount of headroom before giving in to smooth tube saturation and overdrive. There’s a reason why the Vibrolux is currently one of the most collectable and sought after vintage Fender amps, as it’s ideal for recording and also the perfect size for club gigs without overwhelming your bandmates. The balanced tone of the two original 10 CTS ceramic speakers matched with a tube rectified 6L6-based circuit simply can’t be beat! Add Fender’s famed tube driven reverb and tremolo on top and you have one of the best tube amp designs ever conceived. The circuit is untouched, with original Schumacher transformers that date to 1979. The CTS pots in the preamp are all intact, also dating to 1979, and the amp has just been given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. The original Mallory filter caps are intact and still viable, and while one cap shows minor leakage, all still function well and are left intact, given the pristine, original nature of the circuit. The speakers are the original pair of CTS 10 ceramic drivers with clean frames, original blue foil stickers on the magnets, and stamps on the frames from the 30th week of’79. The tube chart is fully intact inside the cabinet as well with crisp corners. The tubes consist of a brand new pair of Tung Sol 6L6 power tubes, the original Fender-branded 5U4 rectifier, and a near complete set of original Fender-branded, USA-made valves in the preamp as well. Cosmetically, the amp is very clean with original smooth black tolex silver sparkle cloth with a subtle blue stripe. The black tolex shows very little wear, and all of the stock hardware is intact aside from a brand new pair of sphinx glides (feet). The amp was at one time fitted with casters which have subsequently been removed. All of the turquoise text is bold and present on the Silverface faceplate, and all of the stock witch hat knobs are present too. The original two-button footswitch is included, along with a modern slip cover. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1966 Fender Pro Reverb Blackface Vintage Tube Amp 2x12 Jensen C12N AA165 with Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Pro Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Jensen C12N speaker pair and two-button footswitch. Providing the general tonal character of a Twin Reverb, but boasting a tube rectifier and more manageable 40 watts of power, the Pro Reverb is a 2×12 amplifier with enough volume for large ensemble situations and the perfect balance between shimmering Blackface cleans and smooth, touch sensitive overdrive. A great platform for effects pedals too, the cleans on this Pro are balanced, clear, and warm. Of course once you reach around 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly, and you get that dynamic, glassy sound that adds just the right amount of grit to your tone. The Reverb has plenty of depth and splash, and the Tremolo has a nice deep chop. Very original and well maintained, this Pro Reverb is ready for stage and studio use. The circuit is extremely original, with the original compliment of Schumacher transformers (Fender’s largest supplier of Blackface-era transformers), dating between late 1965 and the first weeks of’66. The stock CTS pots are all intact as well, dating to late’65, and the chassis stamp notes a 1966 build date. The preamp is untouched save for a few small electrolytic capacitors, and the amp retains all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps which are a hallmark of the Blackface sound. The power supply has also been professionally recapped. A modern three-prong power cable has been installed, and the amp is loaded with mostly vintage valves including a pair of likely original RCA 6L6GC power tubes. The speakers are the original pair of Jensen C12NA 12 ceramic drivers, and the speakers date to the 30th week of’65 with original foil stickers on the magnets and clan black frames. The tube chart is also fully intact inside the cabinet with crisp corners and a PB stamp which translates to February of 1966. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth is intact and in great shape, showing only light wear and still looking surprisingly clean after half a century. The cloth has only faint aging, and the tolex shows only some minor scuffs and nicks on the edges of the enclosure. The stock hardware is in great shape including original tilt back legs, chassis straps, corners, sphinx glides (feet), and handle. The faceplate is extremely clean, with a full compliment of witch hat knobs. This Pro Reverb has vintage tubes, a very original circuit, and a desirable Jensen C12NA speaker pair, sounding every bit as good as a Blackface Fender should! The original two-button footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely.
