VINTAGE 1966 GIBSON GA-5 VACUUM TUBE GUITAR AMP AMPLIFIER A005734 See Details. This is a very nice amp that needs restoration , the amp and all the control bottom speaker works but the issue is that once turns on, the speaker sound starts to slowly crackles low then to hight pitch, once left on, the speaker also have two small hole and one knob and the leather handle is missing, there is not a lot of this amp out there so definitely a great restoration project that is already turning on and plays. I plugged a guitar in it and it does plays but it just crackles. Please se detailed photos. 1966 Kalamazoo Model 2 – Tube type guitar amplifier. This amp was made by Chicago Music Instruments (parent company of Gibson). Based on the serial number this was manufactured in early 1966. Please look closely at the photos – as I’ve tried to disclose the condition as best as possible through the pictures. A few scuffs on the corners and edges, but in good condition for music gear that was on the market 55 years ago. This has the unique 12AX7 steely tube sound that was unique to the Fender and Marshall type amps of the 60′s and 70′s. Tremolo Frequency (with on/off switch). Tone (with on/off switch). Two inputs, one channel. 6X4 full wave rectifier. 12AX7/ECC83/7025 (dual triode) preamp. 12AX7/ECC83/7025 (dual triode) tremolo oscillator. Woodward-Schumacher TF500-0-606-528, 4K input, 8 ohm output. One CTS 10, 8 ohms (amp’s serial number sticker is on magnet assembly). If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask! Vintage 1970s CMI SG System SG-410 tube amp Gibson USA. Reverb and phase shift work! A bit dusty but otherwise in really decent condition! VINTAGE GIBSON GA-5 VACUUM TUBE GUITAR AMP REBUILT RECAPPED 10 WATT AMPLIFIER. This is a nice, vacuum tube, Gibson GA-5 Skylark guitar amplifier. It makes about 10 watts of sound. The amp tone controls give it a wide range of tone from ice pick to train. The amp is pedal friendly and makes it a rock machine. This Skylark was probably made around the mid 1960′s so it is approaching 60 years old. That why these amps are refurbished. The new filter capacitors and signal caps bring the tone back to life. Resistors where replaced when more than ten percent out of balance. Taking these steps make these tube amps durable and reliable. The amp sounds new but still looks vintage. The tolex on this amp is tough and lightly cleaned. There are a few worn spots, loose edges and some paint spots but not too bad. The speaker on the amp was replaced with a vintage CTS alnico speaker. The “death cap” was removed. A grounded power cord was added. A new handle that closely resemble the old was added. New feet were added. The back panel is gone. I tried to keep it looking original. This is a Skylark model that uses a solid state rectifier, one 12AU7 preamp tube and a pair of EL84/6BQ5 power tubes. All three tubes are vintage, US-made tubes. I was not able to find a schematic of this Skylark model but was not required for rebuild.
