Vintage Tube Amplier Repurposed CBS 12AX7 + 2x 50C5′s Push Pull Handmade Chassis. I’ve repurposed an old CBS record player amp. It has original vintage concave style knobs, vintage power switch, and original speaker, but has an orange led for “on” indicator. You can use either stereo or mono. You only need to hook up either one of the RCA jacks in the rear for it to work. A low powered input is strong enough to power this beautiful 1950′s looking “radio” for original tube sound! The case is handmade from plywood and mdf with a plexiglass window. It has a 6 original speaker which had three very small holes in it which I repaired. I’ve run this for many hours without a problem and it sounds great! I’ve not tried it with a guitar, but it might work as a guitar amp. It has volume and tone controls. Original can capacitor and selenium rectifier were left on the chassis for show only and are not in ANY way electrically hooked up. The filter capacitors test fine with a high voltage tester to the microamp range. I only have a very basic schematic drawn on graph paper as I couldn’t find an exact schematic so I had to reverse engineer it. It is a very simple push pull design, so not too difficult to follow. Has a two prong polarized five foot power cord with a 1 amp internal fuse. This is originally a transformerless set, but now has an isolation transformer. There is NO electric connection between the chassis and the wall plug whatsoever! Note: This sale is just for the Amplifier. Other items in the photos are for photographing purposes only. This is a beautiful handmade/hand wired boutique vintage style amp made locally by a maker with 20+ years of building experience. It has a gain structure similar to a vintage Fender, Marshall, and Mesa Boogie. It’s really a nice amp that is made to be cranked up. It’s perfect for a band setting. I have too much music gear and need to start downsizing. This is a one of a kind that has a darker classic rock gain sound as well as fat clean tones. It works perfectly fine but every 6 moths to 1 year you need to spray the reverb inputs with contact cleaner because the reverb sound will start to crackle just a little bit. That takes care of it immediately though. Overall it’s a pretty awesome and unique amp. Fender style reverb. 1×12 35 watt all tube combo with Jensen Speaker. 5 -12ax7 pre amp tubes. 2 – EL 34′s. 1 – 5AR4 Rectifier tube. This Guitar Amplifier is Tweed de-luxe style amplifier (clone) with the famous 5e3 hand wired circuit. Handbuilt by myself, I have been building Amplifiers of all types since about 1968. Please note that the name Tweed Deluxe 5E3 is a Fender product, this is similar, designed to recreate the classic sound and feedback potential of the late’50s. Great pride is taken in the design of each amplifier and I take pride in using USA parts wherever possible. All wiring is hand done of course and the end result has been tested and tuned over a period of months to ensure reliability. All feeds to the tube heating elements are twisted and tucked into the corners of the chassis. All other wiring is carefully placed and shielded as well to avoid noises. End result is a beautiful tone, whether you want mellow or crank it up and play some Jimi Hendrix, have at it. It breaks up nicely when driven, great distortion and feedback if desired.
