Vintage PAIR Dynakit Mark Mk IV Mono Tube Amps Amplifiers UNTESTED Minus 2 Tubes Looks complete except for 2. Tubes on one of the amps. Info found on the web. The Mark IV Amplifier uses a circuit arrangement based on that of the Dynakit’s Mark II and Mark III which have become world famous for superior quality while essentially simple and trouble free. The new 7199 tube is used as a pentode high gain voltage amplifier directly coupled to a cathodyne phase inverter. All parameters are adjusted for minimum distortion. This type of phase inverter has the unique advantage that its operation is independent of tube ageing so that no adjustments are required in maintaining optimum performance. An internal capacitive feedback loop balances the phase inverter at the highest frequencies, and the arrangement provides accurately balanced driving signals to the output tubes, which are EL-34′s operated well below their maximum ratings. The output tubes use a fixed bias arrangement which is set through use of Dyna Biaset (patent pending) which provides optimum linearity of the tubes and minimizes the effects of unbalanced components. The connection of the output tubes includes a small percentage of screen loading which improves the regulation of the output stage and makes it comparatively uncritical of load impedance. Power output: 40 watts into 8 (mono) (EACH). Frequency response: 20Hz to 20kHz. Total harmonic distortion: 1%. Input sensitivity: 1.3V. Signal to noise ratio: 90dB. Speaker load impedance: 4 to 16. Valve complement: 2 x EL-34, 1 x 7199, 1 x GZ-34, 1 x selenium rectifier. Dimensions: 5 x 14 x 6.5 inches. I do not have the proper equipment to test a tube pre-amp and do not want to risk applying power to a 60 year old unit. Previous units that I acquired from the same audiophile collection have proven to be in very good condition. He did not own junk. See pics for details. Up for sale, a 1970′s Traynor YBA-1 Bass Master Mark II tube amplifier head in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Fully serviced and very original, this head drives a matched pair of EL34 power tubes, generating an ample 45 watts. Made in Canada and fully hand-wired with giant Hammond transformers, this amp has significant clean headroom and passes a ton of low end. Known as the poor mans Marshall, the circuit can be easily modified to that of a classic 4-input design, yet in its stock configuration the YBA-1 can already harness that rich Tweed-meets-U. Blend which is this Traynor’s sonic signature. With Volume controls for each channel as well as a global EQ, this amp can be used to power a variety of different instruments (such as a bevy of vintage keyboards) or simply a single guitar or bass, providing a bold, clean power amp that works well with effects pedals. This Traynor has abundant low end response, and the large transformers keep the sound tight and full. This YBA-1 has a very original circuit, with all of the original Hammond transformers and a preamp that retains all of the original pots as well as the mustard tone caps which are essential to the tonal color of this head. The power supply includes new F&T capacitors to ensure optimal performance. The amp is currently loaded with a trio of vintage 12AX7 (7025) preamp tubes as well as a matched pair of Sylvania EL34 power tubes. The faceplate retains all of its original knobs, with most of the white screenprinting having been worn away. Smooth black tolex and a silver grill cloth cover the enclosure, with a good deal of scuffing and wear throughout, and there is evidence of black paint on the enclosure, specifically over the chrome bumpers. This Traynor lives up to the company’s reputation of delivering sturdy workhorse amps that perform reliably on stage and in studio situations. This vintage hand-wired Traynor YBA-1 Bass Master Mark II is a true sleeper that has been well played, but remains in top-notch performance condition.
