This sale is a vintage. Scott 299 Tube Stereo Integrated Amplifier. It is an integrated amp that features phono stage. This amp is all original, no mods. Tubes shown in pictures are borrowed for testing, not included in the sale. I powered it up with variac to 80v AC. One channel always produced good sound from the connected speaker; the other kind of hit and miss; not always got sound. When this second channel worked, the sound was OK. So, I can tell that the output and power transformers should be all good, but the circuitry or some controls/switches needs attention due to the intermittent behavior. Cosmetics are fair, particularly the front has couple of bent areas. Good thing is all knobs are original. Chassis is good structurally. It is just covered by a layer of dust/dirt; not really rust. I rubbed/cleaned a small area (see pictures) and it shows good metal underneath. So, a good cleaning/detailing can get the chassis back in good shape. Bottom plate is there. Pl ease examine the photos carefully, for they are part of item description. Again, no tubes are included. Tube shields are included though. Please wait for my invoice before pay. Here is a nice looking a 7.5 or so out of 10 cosmetically McIntosh MC240 stereo power amp. The chrome is mostly shiny with some minor pitting (see photos) also there is one area on the top where there is some more pitting – see the third photo. Inside (please view photos) looks 100% original – you will need to replace some parts to make this reliable the transformers all work and the amp passes signal, (with a slight hum) however one of the power tubes red plates when I fired it up to test (it was on a variac to attempt to reform the caps) I would recommend that this amp be thoroughly gone through by a qualified tech prior to use. Up for sale here is this vintage Bell 2325 mono tube integrated amplifier, probably from the late 1950s and made in USA. This is a fairly rare and very sought-after amplifier. This is tested and is in working condition. It does play music clearly. However, it has some issues and I strongly recommend that you fully rebuild this before use. A previous owner replaced a few of the under-chassis capacitors, but there are many other original capacitors in there that should probably be replaced. There are two loose wires up by the controls, one of which looks like it was supposed to be unused, but the other one may have come loose from something. This is very dusty or sooty or something on lots of areas–I don’t know what that’s about. The top cover has some sort of damage in the middle–if you want to clean it up, you may have to sandblast it and repaint it. The bottom of the power transformer has a dent but I doubt that affects anything. The faceplate and knobs are in nice condition and look good. Please take a close look at my pictures to understand the condition. This is complete with all covers, hardware, tubes, tube covers, and knobs. It uses a 5U4GB rectifier (GE), 2 6L6 output tubes (unmarked, but I think they’re new Russian tubes), a 12AV6 (probably US-made, but I didn’t look), and 3 12AX7 tubes (I think two are Realistic Made in Taiwan and one is USA-made, but I’m not 100% sure). All tubes are included and seem to work fine, but are not guaranteed. This is tested and does play music. When you initially turn it on (which you do by pulling out the Loudness control), there is a hum that I think comes from the transformer. It does not come from the speakers, but I think from the transformer itself, and it doesn’t entirely go away after startup. I do not know if this is normal. This seemed to play fine, but I would STRONGLY recommend you fully rebuild this before use, especially with that big paper can cap in the bottom. Please see my pictures for details. If you have any questions, please ask. I have a number of other vintage tube stereo components, Magic cards, and other vintage electronics listed–feel free to take a look! Here are some specs…. This Gibson Hawk is in very good shape, Needs TLC. Included is the original foot-switch to control the effects. In addition there is also a Monitor output jack, and the power switch has 2 positions for polarity change. This amp features the later 2×10 speaker configuration and the later 7591 output tubes. Everything else appears original. These 25 watt “Hawks” have a nice clean tone until you push the front end, then it gets “grittier”. The preamp section is very mild mannered. So the amp doesn’t start to open up until about 7-8. But it will happily take anything that your favorite boost or overdrive or compression pedal will give it. This will give the front end any additional drive you may want. The accordion input is a bit hotter than guitar input. Channel one is working great. Channel 2 needs trem pot, reverb and tremelo serviced or play as it is.. You don’t see them very frequently, and they have a genuine “cool factor”.
