Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Bandmaster in mint condition and in good working order. A “best of both worlds” amp for a player that seeks a like-new appearance, optimal reliability, and a lush, all-tube sound with vintage circuitry, this Bandmaster is a stunning example. Professionally retolexed and regrilled with vintage-correct materials and patterns, this Bandmaster is loaded with a modern pair of Jensen C12N speakers, while the circuit is 100% original. This 40 watt Black Panel Fender powerhouse has the powerful, balanced cleans and smooth tube overdrive at high volumes that you expect from a vintage Fender from this era. The cleans are warm and articulate, with Fender’s sparkly top end and the ability to dial in just the right amount of grit and light tube compression. The preamp retains all of the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps, essential to the sweet, musical sound of the Black Panel circuits, and the original Schumacher-made transformers all date to 1965. The Stackpole pots have late’65 date codes, and the tube chart rounds out the applicable dates with a “PB” stamp that translates to February of 1966. Even the original power supply caps are intact and still viable. The tube complement includes a brand new pair of properly biased 6L6 power tube pair, with a host of mostly vintage valves in the preamp from the likes of RCA and Sylvania. The cabinet is stocked with a modern pair of Jensen C12N 12 speakers with immaculate deep green frames and original cones. The cabinet has also been fitted with new sound dampening foam sheets. The head and speaker cabinet have been professionally retolexed with correct smooth black tolex, cut in vintage-correct patterns, along with new silver sparkle grillcloth on both enclosures. Both the head and cabinet retain their original raised “Fender” logos, and the gleaming hardware includes new nickel corners, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, and chrome tilt-back legs. You simply won’t find a better vintage Blackface Fender at this price point, and the Bandmaster truly delivers on the promise of the AB763 circuit, with incredible cleans, smooth overdrive and strong tremolo! 1963 Fender Bassman 6G6B Blonde Brown Panel Vintage Piggyback Tube Amp, Oxfords

Up for sale, a 1963 Fender Bassman in excellent condition and in perfect working order, featuring the original matched pair of Oxford 12M6 speakers. An early iteration of the “Piggyback” Bassman with rough blonde tolex and wheat grillcloth, this Brown Panel-era Fender drives two Sovtek 5881 (6L6GC) power tubes for 40 powerful watts of pure tube goodness. Like the Tweed amps that preceded it, the Brown Panel circuits respond well to picking dynamics with Fender’s hi-fi, glassy clean tones. The EQ controls have a huge sweep, and after around 5 on the Volume dial the amp cascades into rich tube overdrive that compresses noticeably and is particularly roaring and thick. It’s the kind of natural tube saturation that only comes from pushing a well-designed Fender circuit to its limit. A Pre-CBS Fender Blonde Bassman was used on more Beatles recording sessions than the Vox AC30, was a particular favorite of Pete Townshend, and has become the amp forever linked with Brian Setzer’s classic Rockabilly tones. It’s hard to beat this particular Bassman circuit for a tone that bridges the gap between the dynamic grit of the Tweed circuits and the shimmery cleans of the Black Panel line. The circuit is very original and has been well-maintained and recently serviced with fresh F&T filter caps. A few new smaller electrolytics in the preamp, and a modern three-prong power cable. All of the famed blue molded Ajax capacitors are intact in the preamp, an essential part of the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Brown Panel circuits. With stock Stackpole pots, carbon comp resistors, and cloth-covered leads. All of the Schumacher-made transformers are intact, with date codes that span late 1962 and early’63. The tube chart is intact inside the head cabinet. The tube complement includes a pair of Sovtek power tubes that have been properly biased, and the preamp tubes consist of a combination of vintage and modern valves. The cabinet retains the original matched pair of Oxford 12M6 speakers, with date stamps on the edges of the frames from the 43rd week of’63. Both speakers also boast professional recones, ensuring a particularly clear sound with refined, tight bass response. The cabinet is missing its internal central divider, of virtually no sonic consequence. Both the head and cabinet retain their original rough blonde tolex and wheat grillcloth. The tolex exhibits some various marks commensurate with age, with a couple spots of light staining where sap in the knots of the pine cabinet has made its way through the tolex. Both flat Fender logos on the head and cab are original, and the clean faceplate retains its full set of cream barrel knobs. The hardware includes the original piggyback clip bars, nickel corners, sphinx glides, and tilt-back legs, with a new pair of leg stops. The dogbone handle on the head is original, and the one on the cab is a modern Fender replacement. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1954 Fender Deluxe in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. The precursor to the narrow panel 5E3 circuit, this 5D3 “wide panel” Deluxe is an exceedingly well-kept and very original example, complete with the original Triad transformers, Jensen P12R speaker, and a vintage tube complement. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. Especially when connecting the two channels on the three input circuit with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated roar and snarl, to the particular sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit retains the original Triad transformer pair, and the chassis is remarkably clean. The preamp features original red Astron “dynamite” capacitors, Stackpole pots (with visible date codes from the 43rd week of’54), and carbon comp resistors, with modern premium USA-made filter caps and smaller electrolytics to ensure optimal performance and reliability, sleeved in the original Astron Minimite wrappers for a seamless vintage look. The amp is loaded with a complete set of vintage tubes including a matched pair of Sylvania 6V6s, a GE 5Y3 rectifier, and Tung Sol and Sylvania valves in the preamp The speaker is the original Jensen P12R alnico 12 driver with an extremely clean dark green frame. This speaker dates to the 46th week of’54, and retains the original speaker harness with cloth covered wire and stock 1/4 input as well. The other most pertinent date code is the “DL” stamp on the very clean tube chart, which translates to December of’54. The chrome on the chassis is positively gleaming, shining like few Tweeds still do with all of the original white silkscreened text present along with stock chicken head knobs. In similar condition, the original tweed shows limited ambering, with some minor requisite scuffing on the edges of the cabinet and on the corners. Both back panels are original as well, as is the oxblood grillcloth and even the original leather handle. This Deluxe is an example that will satisfy collectors and serious players alike, and the amp has recently been given a clean bill of health, ready for your next gig or studio session. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! This rare, transitional “tuxedo” Princeton features the Brown Panel 6G2 circuit with Black Panel cosmetics, a pairing that only lasted a few short months. The Princeton has a tone that is very dynamic and warm, with crystalline clean tones giving way to rich, saturated overdrive as you turn up the Volume knob. The circuit is as pure and straightforward as they come, and the single Tone knob has a surprisingly wide range. The bias based tremolo circuit has a strong, dimensional pulse and particularly broad range of speeds too. The circuit is 100% original, with the stock pair of Schumacher transformers which date to the very first weeks of’64, and a chassis stamp that dates to 1964 as well. The preamp retains all of the stock yellow Astron and blue molded Ajax caps, central to the sweet, musical quality of Fender’s golden age circuits. All of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 8th week of’64. The tube complement includes a pair of Electro Harmonix 6V6 power tubes, with a pair of vintage preamp tubes from the likes of RCA, and a vintage 5Y3 rectifier. The tube chart is fully intact inside the cabinet, and the “NE” date code which translates to May of’64. The speaker is an era-correct square magnet CTS 10 driver, matching the cosmetics and tonal characteristics of the original driver. The original smooth black tolex is extremely clean with only a few minor scuffs and light edge wear, while the baffle retains its silver sparkle grillcloth which shows very minimal aging. All the stock hardware is present including chassis straps, sphinx glides, handle caps, and a set of original white barrel knobs. 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb Vintage Tube Amp Black Panel AB763 Circuit with Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a two-button footswitch. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has been thoroughly serviced with an eye towards reliable gig and studio-worthy performance, updated to run on 6L6 power tubes for additional clean headroom and power. Boasting a new MojoTone speaker cabinet, a full complement of Mercury Magnetics Tone Clone transformers, a Sprague Atom recapped power supply, TRS effects loop, and reconed vintage Fender/Oxford speaker, this particular Deluxe bridges the gap in tonal richness and modern functionality between a genuine vintage example and Fender’s recent Custom Shop’64 model. Stocked with a matched pair of Groove Tubes 6L6 power tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp delivers the top end sparkle and clarity characteristic of the best amps from Fender’s Black Panel era, a perfect platform for a host of effects pedals. Turning up past 5 on the Volume dial, the amp begins to push into overdrive territory with light compression and plenty of bark and body. The Reverb is lush with long decay, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit boasts Mercury Magnetics Tone Clone transformers, the same high-quality USA-made iron that Fender uses for their highest tier Custom Shop amps. These transformers are extremely reliable and tonally rich, utilizing the same premium materials and techniques that make the originals so revered. The preamp is extremely original with cloth covered leads on the eyelet board, the original set of CTS pots which have visible date codes from the 13th week of’66, and the majority of the blue molded Ajax capacitors, central to the sweet, musical character of the Black Panel amps. The power supply has been professionally recapped with high quality Sprague Atoms, and a three-prong cable has been installed too. The speaker is a vintage Oxford 12L6 ceramic driver which dates to the 18th week of 1965. The speaker has a clean frame and Fender foil label on the magnet, recently reconed for optimal reliability and life, and broken in enough to not sound stiff. The cabinet is a brand new vintage reissue courtesy of MojoTone, crafted of solid finger-jointed pine with a 100% void-free baltic birch baffle. This cabinet sounds lively and is a perfect match for the Deluxe Reverb’s vintage aesthetics, with smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, aged in-house here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. The amp retains much of its original hardware including handle caps, chassis straps, and the raised Fender logo on the grill. The original faceplate retains its full set of witch hat knobs, and this amp is the perfect marriage of modern performance and genuine 1960s vintage Fender tonal purity. A modern two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1958 Fender Deluxe Tweed Narrow Panel Vintage Tube Amp 5E3 Circuit, Jensen P12R

Up for sale, a 1958 Fender Deluxe with stunningly clean tweed in perfect working order, boasting the original Jensen P12R speaker and loaded with a vintage tube set. This Tweed has been incredibly well cared for, with a practically perfect chrome faceplate and expertly maintained circuit, retaining an immaculate vintage look down to the smallest details while also concealing new top tier components installed as needed to ensure optimal functionality. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this amp delivers everything you’d expect from a well cared for amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated roar and snarl, to the particular sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit boasts the original Triad power transformer, with a Mercury Magnetics Tone Clone output transformer, made to exacting vintage spec with open end bells. All of the original CTS pots are intact, with matching date codes from the 43rd week of’58, and the preamp features new Mallory and Jupiter tubular caps installed inside the original molded yellow Astron casings. Similarly the smaller electrolytics and main filter caps feature new top tier Sprague components concealed inside the Astron Minimite wrappers, and even the original end caps for the capacitors have been reused. It’s the most exacting restoration work we’ve ever seen on a 5E3 circuit, and a gray three-prong power cable has also been installed. The tubes are all vintage USA-made RCAs with a matched pair of 6V6s. The original Jensen P12R alnico magnet 12 driver has a very clean teal frame and Jensen sticker, professionally reconed with a date on the edge of the frame from the 37th week of’58. The speaker retains the original speaker harness with cloth covered wire and stock 1/4 input as well. The other most pertinent date code is the “HL” stamp on the bright white tube chart, which translates to December of’58. The chrome on the chassis is incredibly clean, shining like few Tweeds still do with all of the original white silkscreened text present along with stock chicken head knobs. Even the original leather handle is still intact. The lacquered tweed is original and notably un-ambered, with the only wear of note being a single cigarette burn on top, while the oxblood grillcloth is modern on the original baffle. Hardware includes the original screw-in feet, Fender Deluxe badge, and handle ends. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Bassman head and matching 2×12 cab in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This vintage Black Panel Fender amp is very original, and the grillcloth on the head and cabinet is among the nicest we’ve seen. For clarity, warmth, and headroom, this Bassman excels at delivering sweet and articulate Fender clean tones. Once you reach about 5 on the volume dial, the circuit starts to overdrive smoothly and compress a bit, for a raw, thick sound that’s perfect for guitar or bass. It’s a simple and pure vintage Fender “piggyback” head and cab setup that provides a perfect platform for effect pedals and is ready for stage and studio use. Arguably the circuit available for the briefest period of time in the Black Panel era, the AA165 circuit designation is seen on many tube charts (Leo Fender was never one to waste anything), but under the hood, the actual AA165 circuit was only seen for a number of months in’65 before transitioning to the AB165 that would be seen through 1968. This amp is one of few to retain the original AA165 guts. The circuit retains all of the original transformers which date to early 1965 along with the CTS pots and chassis stamp. Both the preamp and power amp have been thoroughly maintained, with new Sprague Atom main filter caps and smaller Mallory caps in the preamp to ensure that the amp is operating within original factory spec. The amp features a modern three-prong power cable as well. On the inside of the head cabinet, the original tube chart is present with an “OG” date stamp which translates to July of 1965. The speaker cab is loaded with a pair of vintage Utah 12 speakers. These speakers are detailed, clear, and quite punchy, overdriving with very rich and balanced overtones. Tested against vintage pairs of Oxfords and Jensens, these Utahs were a surprise favorite, and the original black frames are quite clean, retaining the blue foil Fender labels on the magnets. Cosmetically, this is a clean and well cared for Bassman with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. All of the original hardware is present, including the tilt-back chrome legs, nickel corners, handles, sphinx glides (feet), and raised Fender logos. The original faceplate is also quite clean and complete with original witch hat knobs. There’s a bit of patina on the hardware, and some expected scuffs and minor wear around the edges of the enclosures, but as the photos show, this Bassman presents very well and would look great in a studio collection. This Bassman is clean, complete, and works exactly as intended for delivering powerful Fender cleans and thick overdriven textures.
