Up for sale, a 2008 Marshall JTM45 2245 vintage reissue tube amp head in near mint condition and in perfect working order. Marshall’s meticulous recreation of their original and highly coveted 30 watt circuit, the JTM45 is a two-channel four-input affair, driving a pair of 5881 (6L6) power tubes and boasting a GZ34 rectifier. Yielding plenty of volume and punch, this pure and dynamic Marshall circuit really shines when jumpering the two channels for cascading gain and fine-tuned overdrive textures. It’s a straightforward, top-tier Marshall circuit, virtually untouched since it left the factory save for a pair of more recent, properly biased power tubes. The smooth black tolex is practically perfect save for one small scuff on the back panel and a tiny bit of wear on one back bottom corner. The plexi control plate is clean as can be with its full compliment of knobs, and the small Marshall logo and gold piping top off this spectacular JTM45 reissue. The original Marshall-branded slip cover is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! In excellent working condition. USA made Accutronics Type 8 spring reverb tank. THD PLEXI REVERB 410. Resplendent in its tweed covering and brown grill. Cloth, the Plexi Reverb is the latest in THDs line of variations on the 4×10 Fender. The handbuilt combo features Normal and Bright channels, each with its. Own volume control and dual inputs. Both channels share a common set of treble, bass. Middle, and presence controls. The Plexi extracts 65 watts from a pair of Groove Tubes. EL34s to drive four 10 THD Longhorn speakers. The rear panel, or more correctly the. Underside of the chassis, contains the speaker and external speaker jacks, reverb knob. Effects send and return jacks, and footswitch jack. Theres also a mystery mode switch. Changes output impedance, thats intended as an additional tone control. We tried it-it works. Encased in a fi. Nger-jointed birch-ply cabinet, the THDs circuitry is exposed by. Removing a tweed-covered rear panel and a steel cover plate thats secured by 14 screws. This amp uses seven PC boards and one small bread-board containing the reverb send. The only IC we could fi. Nd is on this circuit, which serves as an impedance buffer. And takes the place of a reverb transformer. The interior is laid out neatly and the parts. Quality is very high. The two EL34s and four preamp tubes are affi. Xed to separate shock. Mounted assemblies; this helps protect the tubes from the kind of banging around theyre. Bound to receive in transit. This is a great idea; anything that prolongs tube life is a real. The reverb tank sits on rubber grommets, instead of being screwed directly to the. This helps to isolate the tank from the cabinets vibrations. The Plexi Reverb is protected by four internal fuses plus an external. A voltage selector is accessible through the steel cover plate; THD says. This selector acts like a Variac. You can set the selector to 140V and the amp. Will respond as if it were getting less than 100V. We tried this trick an found it lowers the. Volume and tightens up the bottom end. Handy meter points and detailed instructions make. This amp particularly easy to bias. The Plexi Reverb is a crunchy, distorted-sounding amp that exudes a strong rock. And roll persona with a bright, snarly, vintage Fender timbre. Plugged into the Bright. Channel, we could set the presence and treble knobs at zero and the tone would still be quite. In this channel, the controls are very interactive; we found that the unused Normal. Volume knob affected the bas frequencies even more than the bass control. Plugged into the Normal channel, the Bright volume knob acted like a notch fi. From 5-8 yielded a cool, skanky midrange dip. At settings above 8, the bass boosted to the. This interaction between channels does not occur to nearly the same. Degree on either the Kendrick 4212 or Fender Reissue Bassman; its the secret to getting a. Great sound from the THD. We A/Bd the Plexi with a particularly juicy 73 Marshall JMP 50-watt head, both. Amps driving similar 4×12 cabs, and found the THD sounded very close to it. Comes with a 12AY7 preamp tube in a special holder. You can swap this for the. 12AX7/7025 in the fi. Rst position for a cleaner sound. Custom mods are also available from. The Plexi, in fact, originated from a customers request. Its now THDs best. Comments: Nice sweet lead tone. Though it looks like a tweed, it sounds. Lots of sounds, thanks to the interactive volume controls. Reminiscent of Eric Johnson. 1998 Marshall 1987X MKII 50-Watt Plexi Guitar Amplifier in excellent overall condition. This Made in England plexi is built to last forever and it works perfectly with zero issues. It was recently serviced and sounds outstanding! It has a few very tasteful mods that were professionally done, including a PPMIV Master Volume, an optional push/pull Bright Cap mod on the Lead Volume, a common ground bus, and new main power tubes. Everything else is all original. The PPMIV Master Volume is located where the Presence knob normally is and allows for ultra high gain at bedroom levels. Since this 50-watt amp is so loud, the master volume is a welcome addition. The Presence knob has been moved to the rear. The push/pull Bright Cap is located at High Treble Loudness 1 and is completely disengaged when pushed in. When pushed out it adds extra brightness to the high frequencies resulting in extra gain and it sounds glorious. The common ground bus makes the amp completely silent and all volume levels and lowers for much more clarity in your sound. The original tolex is in good condition overall with a couple small tears and scuffs here and there but nothing major. The handle works perfectly. Marshall Vintage Reissues Sound Exactly Like the Original! It just doesnt get any better than this. A 1970 Marshall Super Bass 100 watt JMP head in full working order. This JMP is one of the first of the’post-plexi’ era amps. The’A’ serial on this is the first serial following the plexi era. These amps retain most of the plexi circuitry – hence the fantastic plexi tone! Even better, most amps of this age have been messed around with, but this one is as original as it gets. Yes an unmolested, unmessed around with amp from the golden age of rock. If amps could talk, then this one would have a few stories to tell. It has rocked clubs and arenas for over 47 years, and as you can see from the pictures, it has all the scars to show, but it has survived to tell its tale. The only change that I can see is the power cord connection is a modern type. Please have a good look at the photos as they form part of the description and show you the general condition of the amp and give you a good visual indication of what is for sale. Its a heavy piece of kit so it can be collected for cash on collection which I would prefer. Highlands and islands may cost more. I will send this amp overseas and I have quoted an’estimated’ cost to do this. However if your location is remote and costs more, then you will be required to pay the extra cost. Equally if it costs less than I have quoted, you will pay less. The item “1970 Marshall JMP Valve Tube Amplifier Post Plexi Vintage & Rare Rock Classic” is in sale since Monday, January 21, 2019. 1968 Vintage Carlsbro PA60r that is ready to rock for another 50 years!! This guy came straight to us from the UK. Amp has gotten the full service of all new cap job, iec plug conversion, with new JJ, Ness preamp tubes and JJ EL34 power tubes. All biased and with maybe 24hrs of run time. This amp is pretty much a JTM45 meets Hiwatt. Just look at that wax paper lay down power transformer!! The tone is very full. Not to bright or sharp sounding. Amp is very clean sounding and breaks up at about 3/4 volume. Which is window shatter volume. I was messing around and A/B switched from 1 channel all natural amp gain then switched and ran through a ADA MP1 into one of the other amp input channels, sounded awesome. This thing has 4 channel that you can play with! The reverb tank was removed at some time but one can be added very easily with the rca cables up through the chassis. Ill answer any question to the best of my knowledge. These amps are rare to find stateside so dont miss your chance to own some British valve history.
