At top 40 guitars. Our customers satisfaction is our first concern. If after 14 days you are not completely satisfied. Peace be with you.. Were at the time of sale. All original packing must be included. Up for Sale is a. Vintage 1965 Fender Showman All Tube Head Amp! This is really cool. You are looking at a Vintage 1965 85 Watt Fender Showman “Blackface” All Tube Amp Head. The Fender Showman was introduced in 1960 and discontinued in 1993. This is an early model Pre CBS “Blackface” model with the original Blackface AB763 circuit. Fender used the AB763 circuit from 1963 to 1967 and than changed to the Silverface circuit AB568 in 1968. This is the circuit when a “Blackface” Mod is done. This is the “Right” one. This is the Iconic Blackface. Dick Dale the legendary Godfather of “Surf Music” was enlisted by Fender as a Test Pilot to help develop the Showman Amp. Dick Dale has frequently spoken of his role in the development of the Showman, and boasts of having blown up nearly 50 amplifiers before Fender achieved a design that could take his heat. Whether or not the seminal surf guitarist exaggerates, his claims encompass the ambition of the Showman. The keys to creating the bigger, stronger, and louder amp required lay primarily in two major ingredients; a new output transformer (OT) and a new speaker cab design. The result is a nearly indestructible amp. Showman amps are revered for their big, sparkly clean tone. As you turn the amp up the cleans turn smoothly into that classic Blackface grind. With lots of neutral clean headroom, the amp makes a great platform for pedals as well. This amp is a great player, and you will be hard-pressed to find a modern amp of similar quality without spending thousands more. Sparkling, bright, clean sound with lots of headroom. If you are into Surf, Country, Rock or even Jazz, this amp will perform to your expectations. Our amp tech serviced this amp for the sale. He cleaned all pots, jacks, switches and tube sockets. Checked and re-biased tubes. Installed grounded 3-prong ac cord. Everything functions and works correctly. Gig Ready on Arrival. You won’t have to spend any additional monies on this amp. All transformers and pots are original. See Date Codes below. Power Transformer: #606.538. Choke Transformer: #606.538. Output Transformer: #606.517. Keep in mind that this is a 54+ year old vintage amp that has been used. Tolex in good shape but with an amp of this age there are always some scuffs, scratches and minor tears. Chrome chassis brackets and handle have some pitting and discoloration due to age. Grill cloth has faded and is a delightful yellow patina again due to age. No rips or tears. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Dual Showman in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Produced very early in’66 where the Dual Showman still simply said “Showman” on the faceplate, this Dual Showman boasts a pair of flawless and original JBL D140F 15 speakers with original cones as well as two matched pairs of RCA and General Electric-branded 6L6GC power tubes. This amp was the absolute top of the line Fender amp in its day, and still an ideal choice for guitar, bass, or amplifying your favorite vintage electric piano or combo organ. For pristine, sparkling Fender Blackface clean tone, you can’t get any bigger or badder than the Dual Showman, and the amp delivers 85 pure tube watts. The cleans are clear, focused and warm, with a percussive clarity and cut that pairs perfectly with Fender’s single coil pickups and interacts equally well with a warm pair of humbuckers or P-90s. The low end can be dialed in to perfection, with some sweet low-midrange on tap, and a deep, pulsating tremolo as well. The circuit is clean and very original, with a virtually untouched preamp that retains all of the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps that are a hallmark of the Blackface sound. Even the original compliment of filter caps is still intact and viable. All of the original Schumacher transformers (Fender’s primary transformer supplier in the Blackface era) are intact dating between late’65 and the first weeks of 1966. The CTS pots date to late’65 as well. The Blackface faceplate is in great shape, with all of the original witch hat knobs present. The tube chart is clean and intact inside the head, noting the amp’s AB763 circuit and “PD” date code which translates to April of 1966. Both JBL 15 D140 speakers are original to the amp, and everything inside the cab is 100% straight. Both JBLs have their original “29675″ cone codes, and both ribbed cones are in great shape with original aluminum dust caps. The gray speaker frames and JBL labels are virtually flawless, and all of the original fiberglass baffling is intact inside the cab too. With their heavy duty alnico magnets and 4 voice coils, these speakers perfectly replicate Fender clean tones with little to no speaker distortion. Both the head and large 2×15 speaker cabinet retain their original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, and all of the original hardware is intact too, including the raised Fender logos on both head and cab, chrome tilt-back legs, piggyback clip bars and thumbscrews, nickel corners, chassis straps, and handle caps. Cosmetically, the head and cab show only light wear with and some nicks, scuffs, and dings in the tolex and light surface patina on the hardware, but no serious wear. Given a full checkup by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar and one of the straightest examples we’ve come across in years, this Dual Showman boasts original JBL D140 speakers, vintage power tubes, and an extremely original circuit with stock transformers. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1962 Fender Vibrasonic Vintage Pre-CBS Tube Amp Brownface 1x15 JBL D130, Showman

Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Vibrasonic in excellent condition and in perfect working order, with a 100% original circuit and tube set. The flagship combo amplifier of Fender’s Pre-CBS “Brownface” era, this amp delivered 40 powerful, articulate all-tube watts through a single JBL D130F speaker. Along with the Showman, the Vibrasonic was the first Fender to be paired with the hi-fi tones of a JBL, and the Vibrasonic shares an identical chassis with the Showman too (albeit with two 6L6s instead of four). The Vibrasonic features Fender’s unique “Harmonic Vibrato” circuit, and this complex design was Fender’s only true pitch shifting vibrato offered in an amp. Swampy, thick, and very Leslie-esque, it’s a three dimensional, full-bodied tone unlike any other Fender vibrato. The perfect middle ground between the dynamic, saturated tones of the earlier Tweed era amps and the clarity and shimmering cleans of the later Blackface line, this Vibrasonic has a very warm and nuanced sound, with absolutely giant transformers that keep the low end thick and focused. The 6G13 circuit offers EQ controls that have a very wide sweep for everything from classic hollow twang to warm, sweet sounds that will delight any Jazz player. Given the JBL D130F speaker, there’s plenty of clean headroom on tap, but once you get above 5 on the volume dial the amp cascades into raucous, touch-sensitive overdrive. Perfect for guitar, bass, or keyboards, this is a versatile amp that pairs well with just about anything from the era! The circuit is completely original with stock Schumacher transformers that date to late’61, and the circuit is bone stock, with all of the original blue molded Ajax and yellow Astron tone capacitors which are extremely musical sounding and a crucial part of the magic in Fender’s Pre-CBS preamps. The complete set of original Astron filter caps are also intact and still functioning as intended, and the original gray two-prong power cable is intact too. Inside the cabinet, the “LC” stamp on the tube chart conclusively dates production to March of 1962. In terms of the all original tube compliment, this amp features a pair of General Electric 6L6s, as well as a preamp tube set of matching Amperex and General Electric valves. The speaker is an original JBL D130F with a near mint frame and original cone and 21057 cone code. The original harness is intact with cloth wire and a plain metal cap on the 1/4 jack. Cosmetically, this Vibrasonic is a clean example that would look great in a studio. The original rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth are present and both the faceplate and backplate are in remarkably clean condition. The original flat Fender logo, brown barrel knobs, and nickel corners are present. The molded plastic “dogbone” handle is a modern replacement. The underside of the cabinet had at one time been fitted with casters which have been subsequently removed, and there are a few light scuffs on the edges of the enclosure. This Vibrasonic is very clean and original, with an untouched circuit, complete vintage tube set, and the stock one-button vibrato footswitch. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1965 Vintage Fender Showman Amp Tube Guitar Amplifier Head Guitar Or Bass

This listing is for a Vintage original 1965 Fender Showman (8-ohm version) amplifier. This model of amplifier was used by pretty much everyone back in the 1960s. Represented historically in photographs you can see that The Beatles had them in Abbey Road studios, Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend, Jimmy Page, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, and many more. The amp was Fenders top-of-the-line and most expensive. Its basically a head version of a Twin Reverb, but without the reverb. It sat upon a large 1×15 cab in which the single JBL 15 speaker was mounted to a baffle that was equipped with a tone ring. Reverb would have been achieved by adding a Fender reverb unit to the mix. The cab in the photos is of the same time period but from a Dual Showman, which is a 4-ohm cab, and although it is also for sale, it does not run with this head. Its just there to show the look of the head on a similar cab. This particular head has had some restoration cosmetically but the electronics look to be mostly original, see photos of the inside. The handle, corners, and knobs seem original but the grill cloth and Tolex covering, face plate and piggyback mounts are new. I dont know the amplifiers personal history so Ill just explain what I can. It does turn on and function. I didnt notice any scratchy control pots, but it does appear that the overall volume is a bit low for an 85-watt, all-tube amp. Ive had other Showmans and Twins and know it should be a lot louder. It sounds nice, just not as loud as one would expect. Im not an amp technician or capable of making a judgement call as to whether it is the tubes, biasing, or whatever more elaborate explanation it may be. The tremolo works if you have a footswitch, but I think the intensity has to be turned up about halfway before it kicks in. Speed dial works fine. Anyway, this is all I know, really. 1968 Fender Showman Reverb TFL5005D Vintage Silverface Tube Amp Head

Up for sale, a 1968 Fender Showman Reverb vintage tube amp head in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A very early transitional example with “drip edge” aluminum trim, this Showman is a variation made only for a few short months that still retains identical circuitry and component values to its Blackface predecessor, including blue Ajax tone caps and cloth covered wire. The amp boasts 85 watts of tube power via a matched quad of Groove Tubes 6L6 power tubes, along with a host of JJ and Groove Tubes valves in the preamp, all performing as intended for optimal reliability and tone. The amp excels at delivering big, bold clean tones and pushes into sweet tube overdrive after around 5 on the volume dial. The reverb is lush and splashy, and the tremolo has a nice strong chop. The circuit is extremely original, with all of the stock Schumacher transformers present and dating to early’68. The preamp is virtually untouched as well, with CTS pots that date to the 9th week of 1968 and chassis stamps from’68 too. The power supply has been recently recapped to ensure that the amp is reliable for stage and studio use with high quality Sprague Atoms. Cosmetically, this head is clean as can be, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with blue thread. The faceplate has plenty of shine with all of the stock witch hat knobs. All original hardware is present (aside from the cabinet attachments) including the raised Fender logo, corners, and handle caps, and the hardware shows sparingly little wear. This Showman is the perfect amp for players seeking a true Blackface tone with the added functionality of Fender’s lush all-tube reverb, and while the Showman Reverb existed as a model for a number of years, this is the earliest and most sought after version from the first months of 1968! Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Showman in excellent condition, complete with the matching 1×15 “Tone Ring” piggyback speaker cabinet. The Showman was Fender’s flagship tube amp in’67, and the Blackface circuit delivers incredible clean power and headroom, with a sweet sounding, versatile preamp. This particular Showman boasts a matched quad of Groove Tubes 6L6 power tubes and has just been given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. From full, tight bass to Fender sparkle and chime on the top end, this is an extremely tonally balanced amp, with plenty of mids on tap as well and strong tremolo. One very unique and desirable feature of the Showman is the ported Tone Ring speaker cabinet. This large 1×15 enclosure was designed to deliver the clearest, most pure Fender tone with a stock JBL D140F speaker, and as such utilizes a dual baffle board design in which the speaker floats between the baffles, mounted to a metal tone ring. This elegant design makes the Showman cab work as a closed back, ported enclosure and you’ll notice greater range of your EQ controls, ample bass response and an overall sweeter, balanced tone that you simply can’t get with any other Fender cabinet. Plus it just looks so darn impressive! The speaker cabinet retains all of its original fiberglass sound dampening sheets and the D140F sounds incredible with a professional recone. The circuit has been thoroughly serviced, with new filter caps in the power supply and smaller bypass and bias caps in the preamp. The preamp features new Sprague Orange Drop caps as well, and a three-prong cable has been installed. The original Schumacher output transformer and choke is present and date to 1966, while the power transformer is a genuine vintage Fender replacement that dates to 1972. The tube chart is complete and intact with a clear “QD” date stamp, which translates to April of 1967, while the original CTS pots date back to the 38th week of’66. This amp sports the original smooth black tolex which is in great shape overall, showing only minor scuffs and light wear along the edges of the head enclosure, while the speaker cab is remarkably clean. While the cab retains its original silver sparkle grillcloth, the head has had a vintage piece of genuine Fender grillcloth installed with similar tint to the cloth so that the head and cab are a perfect match. All of the hardware is intact as well including chrome tilt back legs, piggyback clip bars, handles, corners and raised metal Fender logos on both the head and speaker cabinet. This vintage Blackface Fender Showman is clean and complete. A testament to the enduring popularity, great tone and reliability of vintage Fender amps! Delivering 85 clean, all tube Fender watts through a JBL D140F, this amp is ideal for guitar, bass or your favorite Fender Rhodes or combo organ. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions!
