This is a Stromberg-Carlson ASR 433 stereo integrated tube amplifier in good overall condition. Not a museum piece, and not a beater, but a good solid unit. It has no cover. Be aware of that. The photo showing a unit with cover is just to show you what it looks like with a cover. It has been power on tested and filaments light up. I connected load resistors to the outputs for transformer protection. Since I don’t have speakers at my shop to connect, that’s as far as I took the testing. Given its age even if it is fully functional right now, I strongly suggest that it needs capacitor replacement by now. THIS CONSISTS OF AN ASE 8 STEREO 8 TUBE PREAMP AND AN ASE 80 STEREO POWER AMP. POWER AMP USES 4 7355 POWER TUBES AND 2 7199 DRIVERS. THE PREAMP USES 4 12AX7/7025 TUBES. IT WAS BROUGHT UP SLOWLY ON A VARIAC. IT PASSES SIGNAL ON BOTH CHANNELS AND IS SUPER QUIET WITH NO HUM. COSMETIC CONDITION IS EXCELLENT. PREAMP FACE IS VERY NICE WITH THE GOLD TRIM. Powerful 6V6 Push-Pull tube amplified. 4 speed automatic V-M record changer, speeds are 16 RPM, 33.3 RPM, 45 RPM and 78 RPM. 2 x 8 round Alnico speakers. Cabinet and legs has been refinished, touched up re-painted in areas and polished to look as great as it does in listing photos. TUBES: 6X5, 12AX7, 6VA6, 6V6, 6V6 in push-pull configuration. SPEAKERS: Cabinet contains 2 Alnico 8 round, full range speakers. Comes with an automatic 45 Spindle adapter, tested and working as it should. Case / Cabinet have been re-finished, interior deck and lid touched up and painted. Speaker grill cloth has been replaced with new grill cloth. A new jeweled 120V pilot lamp has been installed and a new jewel indicator lens. Amplifier has been serviced, tube pins tightened, tubes tested, old wax tubular and electrolytic capacitors replaced with new. Resistors tested and out of tolerance resistors replaced with new. Volume, Base, Treble and switch controls have all been cleaned and lubricated with Deoxit. A new power cord has been installed. The amp has a power transformer and a nice large output transformer. The platter surface has been cleaned to reveal original soft rubber surface. The cartridge is A NOS Tetrad brand cartridge that has been installed. A new stereo 4 wire tone arm wiring harness has been installed with Tetrad plug. The cartridge has a new diamond needle with a. 07 mil stylus on one side for LP’s and a 3 mil.
