Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Tremolux in excellent condition, complete with the original 2×10 speaker cabinet and a pair of factory spec Oxford 10K5 speakers. This amp boasts the sweetness, tonal range, and harmonic clarity that characterizes the Fender Brownface amps, and is powered by a pair of freshly biased vintage General Electric 6L6 power tubes. The tone is pure, dynamic Fender clean sparkle until around 4 on the Volume dial where the amp begins to get just a touch of overdrive on the notes before cascading into full tube saturation when you dime it out. The bias based tremolo circuit has an incredibly deep pulse and the EQ controls have a positively huge sweep. The circuit is very original and serviced strictly as necessary to ensure optimal performance. The original Schumacher output transformer and choke are intact with’62 date codes, while the power transformer is a modern premium replacement courtesy of Mercury Magnetics. All of the stock blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp, along with the full compliment of Stackpole and CTS pots, with visible date codes from the 7th week of’62. The power supply has been professionally recapped with top notch Sprague Atom filter caps, and Sprague bypass caps have been installed in the preamp as well, keeping everything operating within original factory spec. A three-prong power cable has also been installed. The tube compliment includes a matched pair of vintage General Electric USA-made 6L6s, along with a Mesa-branded GZ34 rectifier and a combination of new and vintage valves in the preamp. Inside the speaker cabinet, the original tube chart is mostly intact. The cabinet is loaded with a pair of reissue Oxford 10K5 gold frame ceramic magnet speakers which have the correct look and tonal properties, paring very well with the Tremolux circuit and output capability. Both speakers have viable cones and clean frames. While the speaker cabinet retains its original rough blonde tolex and wheat grillcloth, the head cosmetics have been meticulously restored to match, courtesy of Rodgers Amplification. Larry Rodgers used the correct tolex and grillcloth patterns and application techniques, right down to the correct style staples. The new tolex and grillcloth on the head were then carefully aged (in color, not condition) to match the original grill and tolex on the cabinet. The original wheat grill on the cabinet shows light wear and one notable snag near the center, but no other notable wear. The chassis itself is quite clean, and there are two small silver plugs in the back from previously removed mods. The original faceplate is fitted with a compliment of new cream barren knobs, and the hardware includes original nickel corners, sphinx glides, patent pending tilt-back legs, and chassis straps, with a pair of modern brown “dogbone” handles. Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Tremolux head in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The amp boasts the sweetness, tonal range, and harmonic clarity that characterizes Fender’s Pre-CBS era Brownface amps, and the circuit is powered by a pair of vintage General Electric 6L6 power tubes. The tone is pure, dynamic Fender clean sparkle until around 4 on the Volume dial where the amp begins to get just a touch of overdrive on the notes before cascading into full tube saturation when you dime it out. The bias-based tremolo circuit has an incredibly deep pulse and the EQ controls have a positively huge sweep. The circuit is extremely original, with all of the stock blue molded Ajax tone caps in the preamp, as well as the stock pots and original carbon comp resistors. All of the original transformers are intact, with a Triad power transformer and Schumacher output transformer which dates to the 22nd week of’62. The power supply has been professionally recapped with new Sprague Atom caps, and the preamp is virtually untouched save for one capacitor which was replaced with a cap of similar vintage. The chassis itself is very clean and the original brown faceplate is intact, complete with a set of original cream barrel knobs. The head sports its original rough blonde tolex and oxblood grillcloth. The tolex is quite clean, with a couple small cigarette burns on top and spots on the side where the sap from the knots in the original pine has caused some staining through the tolex. There is one spot of wear on the edge of the tolex north of Input 1 on the Bright Channel, and some wear on the silkscreened faceplate adjacent to the Volume knob on that channel as well. The original “dogbone” molded plastic handle is intact, along with the original nickel corners and flat Fender logo on the amp’s face. The piggyback clip bars and sphinx glides (feet) are modern genuine Fender parts. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1959 Fender Tremolux Vintage Tweed Tube Amp 100% Original with Jensen P12Q & Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Tremolux amplifier in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the stock “doorstop” wooden footswitch. One of the most tonally distinctive and sweet sounding amps of Fender’s late 1950s “narrow panel” Tweed era, the Tremolux essentially combined the tonal richness and dynamic, touch sensitive circuit of a 5E3 Deluxe with a bias-based footswitchable tremolo. Powered by a pair of 6V6 power tubes, this Tremolux has the same harmonic content, smooth tube breakup and glassy tone of a Deluxe, but the significantly larger open back cabinet on a Tremolux gives the tone more depth, low end and roundness overall. Like any four-input Tweed Fender, the magic really happens when you jumper the two channels and use the independent Volume controls to dial in the perfect amount of clarity and grit. With the addition of Fender’s earliest tremolo circuit (a bias based design that essentially turns on/off the power tubes to create the effect), the Tremolux is a versatile and impressive amp, delivering a trem circuit with a strong pulse and good range of speeds. The circuit is completely stock and untouched, with all of the original yellow Astron tone caps in the preamp, along with the original pots, carbon comp resistors, and cloth wire. Even the original Mini Mite Astron caps are present, along with the stock gray two-prong power cable. All of the original transformers are intact with late’59 date codes, and the pots date to the 50th week of’59 as well. The chassis itself is particularly clean, with chrome plating that has ample shine and virtually all of the original white silkscreen lettering intact. The original chickenhead knobs are all present as well. The speaker is the original Jensen P12Q, rated at roughly 35 watts and the perfect match for the output of the Tremolux which is decidedly more modest than what the speaker can handle. The teal frame is quite clean, with clear date stamps, intact bell cover and original Jensen label. The tube chart is also present on the inside of the cabinet and a particularly nice example, with an “IL” date stamp that translates to December of 1959. All of the original hardware is intact including the elusive leather handle. Other stock hardware includes the “Tremolux” badge on the face and four sphinx glides (feet) on the bottom. The original tweed is intact and as the photos show, it is in particularly nice shape, with sparingly little wear around the corners. The original oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe is also intact and well preserved and this is a particularly tidy vintage example with tweed that has aged to a light shade of amber. This Tremolux is a clean, no-excuses, collector-grade example with a stock circuit, clean chrome faceplate, original tweed, and stock brown single button wooden footswitch. Vintage 1962 Fender Tremolux Blonde Guitar Amp Tube Head Pre-CBS 6G9-B

Up for grabs is this original vintage 1962 Fender Tremolux tube head. As in many cases, the head has been separated from the original piggy back cabinet. Overall, the head is in good condition, but has had some modifications. The Tremolux still has all of the original transformers/chokes, which date this amp to 1962. The filter and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced, but the original caps will be included in the sale. The handle has also been replaced with a new OEM brown Fender handle and the power cable has been upgraded to a 3-prong cable. The previous owner did a mod to essentially bypass the normal channel, which is not too uncommon. Most people, including myself, typically only use the bright channel anyway to take advantage of the tremolo and/or reverb when applicable. The normal channel volume knob now seems to act like a master volume for the bright channel. This amp is equipped with older RCA preamp and power tubes. The amp sounds very good as is, but can always easily be reverted back to original specs by a competent tech. These early’60s Fender amps are becoming harder to find, especially in working condition. The amp will be securely packaged with all tubes removed to ensure it remains safe in transit. Please feel free to ask any questions or make an offer! Up for sale is a Vintage Fender Tremolux Guitar Amp Head. The tolex is ripping up at certain spots (pictured). The rear back panel is missing. Some of the metal has surface rust due to years of age. Includes the original footswitch. The amp powers up and is in great working condition. All of the inputs, outputs, switches and knobs work as they should. The pedal included is not the original, but it powers on/off the vibrato when plugged into either of the Vibrato inputs. The original paper label is in poor condition from age and being exposed to humidity. I cannot guarantee that the capacitors or tubes have not been replaced over the years. This would make a great addition to any collection. These don’t come around nearly as often as other amps. Message me with any questions. Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Tremolux in excellent condition and in good working order. This vintage Blackface Tremolux is from production run #2 as noted on the tube chart and has a “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate indicative of the very first “Pre-CBS” Blackface amps. The circuit has been serviced and the amp boasts a pair of vintage 6L6GC power tubes. The tone is stunning and quintessential Blackface Fender, with the perfect amount of clean headroom before the amp gives in to slightly compressed tube overdrive around 5 on the volume dial. The vibrato has a strong pulse to it as well and each channel has a similar voicing, although the Normal channel has just a touch more low end and midrange punch. The circuit retains all of the original Schumacher (Fender’s transformer supplier in the Blackface era) output transformer and choke which date to mid’65. The power transformer is a vintage Schumacher replacement which has a Fender part number and dates to 1967. The preamp features a combination of original blue molded Ajax capacitors and modern, high quality Sprague Orange Drops. The power amp has been professionally recapped as well. The power tubes are a matched pair of vintage 6L6s, and the preamp tubes are a mixture of newer and vintage valves. The stock CTS pots and chassis stamp date to 1965. The tube chart is intact with only light wear and a clean “OI” date stamp, which translates to September of 1965. The speaker cab boasts a pair of vintage correct Oxford 10L6 ceramic speakers. These speakers have black frames, original blue Fender foil labels, and original cones. Cosmetically, the amp retains the original silver sparkle grillcloth and smooth black tolex. The head is particularly clean with a minty faceplate and stock knobs. The nickel hardware shows moderate patina, with the original pat. Pending tilt back legs, piggyback clip bars and chrome thumb screws. The grillcloth on both the head and cab are uniformly aged as well. Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Tremolux amplifier, freshly serviced and retaining the original lacquered tweed. Powered by a pair of brand new Electro Harmonix 6V6 power tubes, this Tremolux has the same harmonic content, smooth tube breakup and glassy tone of a Deluxe, but the significantly larger open back cabinet on a Tremolux gives the tone more depth, low end and roundness overall! This true road warrior has been given all the love a real golden era Fender amp deserves, and our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar have carefully gone through the circuit, balancing originality and functionality and using only the best parts available. All of the original yellow Astron tone caps are intact in the preamp, along with the original pots, carbon comp resistors, cloth wire, and mostly untouched solder joints. The main filter caps have been replaced with brand new Sprague Atoms so that the amp is working within original factory spec, and a three-prong power cable has been installed. A miniature bias pot has also been added to the eyelet board so that the tubes can be optimally biased (an option not available via the circuit’s traditional cathode bias method). The transformers are a brand new pair furnished by Mercury Magnetics and made in the USA, closely matching original specs and materials. These are the same transformers used in Fender’s top-tier Custom Shop builds, living up to the high bar set by Fender’s original transformer manufacturers in the era, Triad and Schumacher. The chassis itself is quite clean, and the chrome shows only very light pitting on the face with the majority of the white silkscreen lettering intact (the chrome in fact is so shiny that it was difficult to faithfully capture the lettering in the images, but rest assured it’s there). The original chicken head knobs are all present as well. The speaker is a vintage Jensen C12Q, rated at roughly 35 watts and the perfect match for the output of the Tremolux which is decidedly more modest than what the speaker can handle. The teal frame is quite clean, with a date stamp from’63, intact bell cover and original Jensen label. The tube chart is also present on the inside of the cabinet. The original “Tremolux” metal badge on the face of the amp is present, while the leather handle and sphinx glides (feet) are modern replacements. The original tweed is intact and as the photos show, it has been ambered and scuffed from decades of honest use. The most prominent wear on the pine cab is on the front bottom edge with a few bald spots. While the lower back panel is original, the upper back panel is a modern replacement, aged to closer match the wear on the tweed. The baffle is also a brand new solid pine replacement from MojoTone, fitted with new Oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe as per spec for the Tweed era. This Tremolux has been freshly serviced and is ready for stage and studio use! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1963 Fender Tremolux in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This is one of the earliest Fender amps to boast a Blackface circuit, and the transitional cosmetics also reflect this amp’s early production run, with smooth blonde tolex and wheat grillcloth! Powered by a pair of NOS RCA 6L6GC power tubes, these vintage USA made valves deliver a sweetness, power, and harmonically rich overdrive at high volumes. Of course the real draw of the Tremolux is its ability to produce those shimmering Fender cleans with rich, balanced tones that work great with a host of effect pedals. The tremolo has a nice, deep pulse as well, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit is very original, and has been properly maintained with the highest quality components. All of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp (a huge part of the Blackface sound), in addition to the original pots and cloth wiring. The main filter caps and smaller bypass caps have been replaced with a combination of factory spec Sprauge Atoms and F&T capacitors. All of the original Schumacher transformers are intact, and date to fairly early in’63, and the serial number on the chassis is notable for its very early number, A002XX! The speakers are a pair of era correct Jensen C10Q speakers that sound fantastic with great punch, warmth, and clarity. The speakers date from later in’66, yet are the right wattage and style of speaker seen in a Blackface Tremolux and are a great match for this amp. The tube chart is unfortunately mostly gone from inside the head cabinet, and this is a fairly common occurrence, but thankfully all other date codes on the amp are legible. The original smooth blonde tolex is intact on both the head and the speaker cab, along with the original wheat grillcloth, which has been bleached almost white by decades of exposure to the sun and has some light staining as well. The cabinet has its stock pat. Pending tilt-back legs and piggyback inserts, while the head has the corresponding piggyback clip bars. Both logos on the head and cab are original, and the early Blackface faceplate features the original black skirted witch hat knobs. Overall, this is a very clean and well cared for Tremolux, and the blonde tolex is in truly remarkable shape. Aside from light surface rust on the hardware, a few light scuffs on the enclosures, and some wear along the edges of the faceplate, there’s truly very little to mention about this classic, Pre-CBS Fender amp!
