1950's Vintage Supro Valco Combo Tube Guitar Amp Tweed Amplifier V15025

This is a rare Vintage Supro Valco tube guitar amplifier. The serial number is V15025. It does work but there is some static and crackling. It is also missing the volume knob, and the power switch is pushed into the chassis. The power cord does have cracking in it so that would need to be replaced. The leather handle is still intact but has the metal wire sticking out. Overall the amp is well used and will require restoration to get back to 100%. This is a very rare and neat old amplifier. 1958 Fender Deluxe Tweed Narrow Panel Vintage Tube Amp 5E3 Circuit, Jensen P12R

Up for sale, a 1958 Fender Deluxe with stunningly clean tweed in perfect working order, boasting the original Jensen P12R speaker and loaded with a vintage tube set. This Tweed has been incredibly well cared for, with a practically perfect chrome faceplate and expertly maintained circuit, retaining an immaculate vintage look down to the smallest details while also concealing new top tier components installed as needed to ensure optimal functionality. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this amp delivers everything you’d expect from a well cared for amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated roar and snarl, to the particular sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit boasts the original Triad power transformer, with a Mercury Magnetics Tone Clone output transformer, made to exacting vintage spec with open end bells. All of the original CTS pots are intact, with matching date codes from the 43rd week of’58, and the preamp features new Mallory and Jupiter tubular caps installed inside the original molded yellow Astron casings. Similarly the smaller electrolytics and main filter caps feature new top tier Sprague components concealed inside the Astron Minimite wrappers, and even the original end caps for the capacitors have been reused. It’s the most exacting restoration work we’ve ever seen on a 5E3 circuit, and a gray three-prong power cable has also been installed. The tubes are all vintage USA-made RCAs with a matched pair of 6V6s. The original Jensen P12R alnico magnet 12 driver has a very clean teal frame and Jensen sticker, professionally reconed with a date on the edge of the frame from the 37th week of’58. The speaker retains the original speaker harness with cloth covered wire and stock 1/4 input as well. The other most pertinent date code is the “HL” stamp on the bright white tube chart, which translates to December of’58. The chrome on the chassis is incredibly clean, shining like few Tweeds still do with all of the original white silkscreened text present along with stock chicken head knobs. Even the original leather handle is still intact. The lacquered tweed is original and notably un-ambered, with the only wear of note being a single cigarette burn on top, while the oxblood grillcloth is modern on the original baffle. Hardware includes the original screw-in feet, Fender Deluxe badge, and handle ends. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1955 Fender Deluxe Tweed Small Box Narrow Panel Vintage Tube Amp 5E3 Circuit

Up for sale, a 1955 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This first-year iteration of the narrow panel 5E3 Tweed-era circuit has the distinctive “small box” cabinet seen only on Deluxes produced in’55, notably more compact than the cabinets used from 1956-60 and significantly rarer. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this amp delivers everything you’d expect from a classic and well cared for amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. The circuit is extremely original, boasting both stock Triad transformers. The amp has been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with new Sprague Atom filter caps and smaller electrolytics. The amp is loaded with red Astron-style modern Jupiter caps in the preamp, with two newer CTS pots and one original Stackpole pot which dates back to the 51st week of’54. The Stackpole Tone pot also retains its original yellow Astron capacitor and distinctive “domino” Cornell Dubilier resistor. Tubes include matched RCA 6V6 power tubes, a vintage 5Y3 rectifier and one vintage RCA preamp tube paired with a complimentary modern Groove Tubes-branded valve. The speaker is the original Jensen P12R alnico 12 driver with a recent recone. This speaker dates to the 31st week of’55 and retains the original Jensen foil label on the magnet bell as well as the speaker harness with cloth-covered wire and stock 1/4 input. The tube chart is intact with a handwritten serial that matches the chassis and an “EH” date stamp which translates to August of 1955. The chassis itself retains the identical “EH” stamps. The chrome on the chassis is incredibly clean, shining like few Tweeds still do with all of the original white text present along with stock chicken head knobs. The original tweed shows deep ambering and some light wear on the enclosure edges. The original oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe is also intact and in great shape. The leather handle is a modern replacement, and the back panels are custom made to fit the unique small box cabinet, both featuring new tweed aged to match the otherwise original covering on the cabinet. The stock badge on the amp’s face simply says “Fender, ” a holdover from the earlier Tweeds before the longer “Fender Deluxe” badge that would be seen in subsequent years. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! The full complement of original yellow Astron caps are intact in the preamp, with original Stackpole pots which date to the 6th week of’60. The original transformers are intact, with a Triad power transformer and a Schumacher output transformer, dating to the 24th week of’60. The amp is loaded with a full vintage tube set too. The speaker is the original Jensen P12R alnico 12 driver with a very clean teal frame and a recent recone. This speaker dates to the 30th week of’59, and retains the original speaker harness with cloth covered wire and stock 1/4 input as well. The tube chart is intact and crisp with one missing corner (where the date stamp would typically be located), and thankfully the chassis itself retains the identical “JJ” stamp, translating to October of 1960. The chrome on the chassis is incredibly clean, shining like few Tweeds still do with all of the original white text present along with stock chicken head knobs. In similar condition, the original tweed shows light ambering, with some minor requisite scuffing on the edges of the cabinet and some staining and wear on the lower corners. Both back panels are original as well, as is the oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe, while the leather handle is a modern replacement. This Deluxe is an example that will satisfy collectors and serious players alike, and the amp has recently been given a clean bill of health, ready for your next gig or studio session. 1955 Fender Princeton Tweed Small Box Vintage Class A Tube Amp 5E2, 1x8 Jensen

1955 Fender Princeton Tweed Small Box Vintage Class A Tube Amp 5E2, 1x8 Jensen

Up for sale, a 1955 Fender Princeton in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. This narrow panel Tweed amp is the particularly rare “small box” example only offered in 1955, with a more compact enclosure identical to the Champ. The flawless tube chart and matching two digit P00057 serial stamped on the chassis speak to the early nature of this model, being the 57th narrow panel Princeton ever produced. The original tweed is uniformly ambered and very well-kept, and is one of the rarest and most unique golden-age Fender amps to come through our shop of late. The circuit couldn’t be more simple and pure, with single Volume and Tone knobs and a Class A circuit design, powered by a single 6V6 power tube. The tone is articulate, dynamic and commanding, with the sizzle and churning overdrive of a Champ, but greater ability to sculpt the tone. The top end response is just right, and the amp doesn’t get too trebly, with a nice wooly warmth and reconed original Jensen 8 speaker, making the Tone control quite usable and giving the circuit the ability to handle ample low end without sounding loose or over-burdened. The circuit is 100% original, with untouched solder joints save for a substituted era-correct two-prong power cable The circuit retains its original Triad transformers, and the original Stackpole pots, carbon comp resistors, and red “dynamite” Astron capacitors are intact. Visible codes on the Stackpole pots dat3 to the 43rd week of 1954. All of the original caps both in the preamp and power supply are still functioning as intended, a testament to the longevity of Fender’s amps and component choices. The tubes are all vintage valves include a vintage RCA 5Y3, Hytron 6V6 power tube, and a UK-made 12AX7. The speaker is original and a particularly rare alnico Jensen, stamped “EE” just to the right of the magnet, matching the identical stamps on the chassis and tube chart. The tube chart is notable for its well-preserved condition, with perfect corners, handwritten serial number, and “EE” date stamp which translates to May of 1955. The tweed is 100% original with light, uniform ambering, and some minor staining below the grillcloth, attributable to “bleed out” from the original rivets pinning the tweed. There are also two small holes on the upper back panel from a removed, non-original cable wrap. The original leather handle is intact and incredibly clean, as is the gleaming chrome faceplate with original silkscreen text and chicken head knobs. This amp is a true rarity given its condition, and this particular example has been carefully tested and inspected to ensure originality and ideal functionality. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1954 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The precursor to the narrow panel 5E3 circuit, this 5D3 “wide panel” Deluxe is an exceedingly well-kept and very original example, complete with the original transformer compliment and Jensen P12R speaker. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. Especially when connecting the two channels on the three input circuit with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated roar and snarl, to the particular sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit retains the original Triad transformer pair, and the chassis is remarkably clean, The preamp features original red Astron “dynamite” capacitors, Stackpole pots, and carbon comp resistors, with modern premium USA-made filter caps and smaller electrolytics to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The amp is loaded with a complete set of vintage RCA tubes including a matched pair of 6V6s. The speaker is the original Jensen P12R alnico 12 driver with an extremely clean dark green frame. This speaker dates to the 46th week of’54, and retains the original speaker harness with cloth covered wire and stock 1/4 input as well. The other most pertinent date code is the “DL” stamp on the very clean tube chart, which translates to December of’54. The chrome on the chassis is incredibly clean, shining like few Tweeds still do with all of the original white text present along with stock chicken head knobs. In similar condition, the original tweed shows modest ambering, with some minor requisite scuffing on the edges of the cabinet and on the corners. Both back panels are original as well, as is the oxblood grillcloth and even the original leather handle. This Deluxe is an example that will satisfy collectors and serious players alike, and the amp has recently been given a clean bill of health, ready for your next gig or studio session. A vintage-style slip cover is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1958 Guild Masteramp 66-J Vintage 1x12 Tube Amplifier Tweed Jensen P12Q 6V6

Up for sale, a 1958 Guild Masteramp model 66-J, recently serviced and in perfect working order. One of the earliest tube amps produced by Guild, this tweed wonder shares many similarities with the narrow panel Fender Deluxe, with a dual 6V6 output stage and 5Y3 rectifier, dual triode preamp tubes, four input design, and alnico Jensen 12 speaker. The tone is warm, dynamic, and clear, with a surprising amount of headroom and just enough overdrive to deliver ideal bite and smooth saturation when you dime it out. The bias-based tremolo circuit has a nice strong pulse as well, and the original wedge footswitch for activating the effect is included too! Produced for only a few short years when the Guild guitar company first came into existence, the Masteramp 66-J is quite rare and was made in-house at their factory in Hoboken, New Jersey. While there is some credence to reports that Ampeg supplied Guild with certain elements of their amp builds, the tonal response is more analogous to Fender amps of the era. The circuit is very original, with stock transformers, and a complete recap of the main power supply as well as a few caps in the preamp to keep the amp operating within original factory spec. The stock Centralab pots are all intact and date to the first weeks of 1958. The power tubes are a fresh pair of Electro Harmonix 6V6s, along with a vintage USA-made 5Y3 rectifier and combination of modern and vintage preamp tubes. The speaker is an era-correct Jensen P12Q that has ideal headroom and a near mint blueish green speaker frame with the original Jensen foil sticker on the magnet bell. The original two-tone tweed and brown leatherette covering is intact, with wear along the edges of the enclosure and on the bottom of the cab in particular. The original oxblood grillcloth is intact too, with distinctive “spaghetti” swirls, and a modern leather handle has been installed. The chrome chassis retains the majority of the white silkscreen lettering, the chrome still has plenty of shine with minimal pitting, and the stock Dakaware knobs are present. In excellent working condition. USA made Accutronics Type 8 spring reverb tank. THD PLEXI REVERB 410. Resplendent in its tweed covering and brown grill. Cloth, the Plexi Reverb is the latest in THDs line of variations on the 4×10 Fender. The handbuilt combo features Normal and Bright channels, each with its. Own volume control and dual inputs. Both channels share a common set of treble, bass. Middle, and presence controls. The Plexi extracts 65 watts from a pair of Groove Tubes. EL34s to drive four 10 THD Longhorn speakers. The rear panel, or more correctly the. Underside of the chassis, contains the speaker and external speaker jacks, reverb knob. Effects send and return jacks, and footswitch jack. Theres also a mystery mode switch. Changes output impedance, thats intended as an additional tone control. We tried it-it works. Encased in a fi. Nger-jointed birch-ply cabinet, the THDs circuitry is exposed by. Removing a tweed-covered rear panel and a steel cover plate thats secured by 14 screws. This amp uses seven PC boards and one small bread-board containing the reverb send. The only IC we could fi. Nd is on this circuit, which serves as an impedance buffer. And takes the place of a reverb transformer. The interior is laid out neatly and the parts. Quality is very high. The two EL34s and four preamp tubes are affi. Xed to separate shock. Mounted assemblies; this helps protect the tubes from the kind of banging around theyre. Bound to receive in transit. This is a great idea; anything that prolongs tube life is a real. The reverb tank sits on rubber grommets, instead of being screwed directly to the. This helps to isolate the tank from the cabinets vibrations. The Plexi Reverb is protected by four internal fuses plus an external. A voltage selector is accessible through the steel cover plate; THD says. This selector acts like a Variac. You can set the selector to 140V and the amp. Will respond as if it were getting less than 100V. We tried this trick an found it lowers the. Volume and tightens up the bottom end. Handy meter points and detailed instructions make. This amp particularly easy to bias. The Plexi Reverb is a crunchy, distorted-sounding amp that exudes a strong rock. And roll persona with a bright, snarly, vintage Fender timbre. Plugged into the Bright. Channel, we could set the presence and treble knobs at zero and the tone would still be quite. In this channel, the controls are very interactive; we found that the unused Normal. Volume knob affected the bas frequencies even more than the bass control. Plugged into the Normal channel, the Bright volume knob acted like a notch fi. From 5-8 yielded a cool, skanky midrange dip. At settings above 8, the bass boosted to the. This interaction between channels does not occur to nearly the same. Degree on either the Kendrick 4212 or Fender Reissue Bassman; its the secret to getting a. Great sound from the THD. We A/Bd the Plexi with a particularly juicy 73 Marshall JMP 50-watt head, both. Amps driving similar 4×12 cabs, and found the THD sounded very close to it. Comes with a 12AY7 preamp tube in a special holder. You can swap this for the. 12AX7/7025 in the fi. Rst position for a cleaner sound. Custom mods are also available from. The Plexi, in fact, originated from a customers request. Its now THDs best. Comments: Nice sweet lead tone. Though it looks like a tweed, it sounds. Lots of sounds, thanks to the interactive volume controls. Reminiscent of Eric Johnson. Up for sale, a 1958 Fender Harvard in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The Harvard is a unique model, sitting just below the Deluxe in terms of output with two 6V6 power tubes pushing 10 glorious all-tube watts through a Jensen P10R speaker. The Harvard also has the distinction of being the only Tweed era Fender model name to not make the transition to subsequent Brown and Blackface amp series. Offering a similar tone stack to the Tweed-era 5E3 Deluxe, yet with a single-triode 6AT6 powering the initial gain stage and a class AB fixed bias design unique among Fender’s Tweeds, the Harvard delivers on the promise of sweet tube saturation and the extremely dynamic, harmonic-rich tones which are a hallmark of the narrow panel tweed Fender amps. Outfitted with simple Volume and Tone controls, the amp has quite a bit of muscle, surprising headroom, and a bold bass register that belies its size, pushing into lightly compressed overdrive with plenty of sizzle and grit beyond 5 on the Volume dial. The cabinet size (noticeably bigger than the Champ and Princeton) adds a certain low end fullness to the tone as well, with great bloom to the notes and a richness that’s particularly evident when played with a humbucker-equipped guitar. The 5F10 circuit is extremely clean and well-maintained, with new Sprague Atom filter caps and smaller tubular caps in the preamp as well. The original Stackpole pots are intact, dating to the 38th week of’57, and the amp retains its original jacks, carbon comp resistors, and cloth-covered leads. The original Triad open bell output transformer is intact, while the power transformer is a boutique faithfully wound modern clone furnished by Mercury Magnetics. The faceplate has plenty of shine, with some requisite pitting of the chrome, yet with the majority of the original white silkscreened lettering intact. The speaker is an era-correct Jensen P10R with a very clean teal frame, stock foil label on the alnico magnet, and date code on the edge of the frame from 1959. The tube chart is present and quite clean as well, denoting the 5F10 circuit and also still featuring a cleanly stamped “HA” date code, which translates to January of 1958. The original lacquered tweed is intact and lightly ambered. A well-kept example, this amp shows some modest scuffing and edge wear consistent with age. The leather handle is original, and the original Fender Harvard badge is intact. The Harvard is commonly referenced as the “Steve Cropper amp, ” having been used extensively by that artist to capture the tones heard with Booker T and the MGs on tracks like Green Onions, and on other notable hits like Otis Redding’s Dock of the Bay. Fender’s 1×10 Harvard certainly does not disappoint and is the perfect stage and studio secret weapon.
