Vintage 1960s’ Sear’s Sivertone tube 1484′Twin Twelve’ amplifier chassis. This listing for the amplifier head chassis as shown in the photos; it also includes the the amp’s cabinet (also see photos). The amp head’s cabinet has shrunk and will not properly fit the amplifier chassis. The amplifier does work with both channels, reverb & tremelo; there is a noticeable hum and. Feedback in Channel #1. As you can see from the photos, the amp chassis. Has considerable rust throughout; the original attached speaker cord & AC cord are both in great shape. The model is 1474. Date code on the pots shows 13762xx. Missing all the tubes, except for one 6cg6, all the knobs , the fuse cap and the reverb unit. This amp uses 4 6L6 tubes , used in pairs, with a 5u4 rectifier. Someone before me recovered it long ago. Has original grill cloth. I know a few things about the 1474 , the 1484 and 1485 models. This amp is pretty much 2 1484 amps in one box but less powerful than the 1485 solid state rectifier of the Jack White model. This amp when repaired should put out about 40 to 45 watts a channel. Up for sale, a 1959 Danelectro Twin Twelve Series D Model 98 tube amplifier in exceptional condition and in good working order. An exceedingly clean and well preserved vintage Danelectro tube amp, the Twin Twelve boasts a two-channel circuit driven by a quartet of fresh JJ 6L6 power tubes. Channel One has tons of bass, with a muscly clean tone that quickly gains a bit of hair when you dig in, with a very rich, churning drive when you dime it out. The low end is burly and full while retaining a certain focus and punch, and the gain is positively ripping. Channel Two is more polite, with far less bass and a more glassy quality, still driving hard when you turn it up. Remolo effect works on both channels and is extremely square wave in nature, cutting through with tons of chop and enough variance in the Speed knob to go from swampy and slow to relatively fast. The circuit is clean and stock, with original CTS pots which date to early’57. The original pair of Utah alnico 12 speakers have clean 1957 date stamps on the magnets as well. The original transformers are intact, and the upper and lower chassis both have extremely clean polished aluminum, with deep brown silkscreening on the upper chassis and the full compliment of original brown molded knobs. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is fully intact too. Cosmetically, this Danelectro is a real stunner, with original gold sparkle grillcloth and a textured blonde covering on the cabinet. There is only light wear and staining on the bottom of the enclosure, and the Danelectro lucite badge is intact on the face. Here is a vintage Silvertone 1474 twin reverb amp. The amp and all the controls are working, however, it does pop a lot and is a bit snowy due to its age. The amp does have a nice sound thus, if serviced, you might be able to get it to sound a lot cleaner. The tubes do say Silvertone on them so they are probably old. Included is the vintage foot switch as well. Tremolo and reverb appear to working. See photos for cosmetic condition (reasonably good considering how old it is). It has the usual dings, dust, and scratches, but no major tears on the outside and the cloth front is intact. Electrolytics and filter caps replaced -3 prong power cord and safety ground added; AC polarity switch disconnected -pots cleaned -new Weber WOT1484 replacement output transformer installed the stock transformer in these amps is woefully inadequate and they often blow.
