1965 Silvertone 1485 Vintage Danelectro USA-Made 6x10 Tube Amp with Jensen C10Q

Up for sale, a 1965 Silvertone model 1485 piggyback tube amplifier in excellent condition, freshly serviced and in perfect working order. A vintage USA-made amp crafted by Danelectro for Sears’ house brand Silvertone, the amp features the original dolly and sextet of matching Jensen C10Q speakers, loaded with a new properly biased small bottle Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tube quad. The 1485 as advertised by Silvertone pushes a whopping 120 watts, but stripping away the marketing, this amp functions closer to 100 watts via the power tube quad. Extremely powerful and articulate, these amps have much more headroom, punch, and top end response than the smaller 1484, and can produce both bold cleans and roaring overdrive. The smooth articulate crunch of this model has found favor with players across the spectrum, and it responds very well to pedals too. Both channels feature a pair of inputs (high and low) and both channels share the built-in Reverb and Tremolo effects. While the Tremolo has a nice strong pulse that gets quite thick and deep, the Reverb is infamous in its own right for its thin, trashy sound that’s perfect for lo-fi and surf tunes, with a unique gain structure and chiming top end character. The circuit has been thoroughly overhauled by our in-house techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar and the amp is a robust, gig-worthy machine, featuring a fully recapped power supply while retaining a bevy of original capacitors and carbon comp resistors. The stock output transformer is intact, while the power transformer is a heavy duty replacement, along with a modern Heyboer choke. The original CTS pots date back to the 32nd week of’65. The speakers are a particularly clean sextet of original Jensen C10Q 10 drivers, with minty black frames and 1965 date codes. Two of the speakers feature brand new cones, while the other four are original. All of the original barrel knobs are intact on the polished aluminum faceplate, which also retains all of the original black silkscreen text. The amp retains its original charcoal covering which shows some honest wear on the edges of the cabinet and head enclosure, and the original grillcloth has plenty of sparkle in the gold thread. The head secures into the back of the cabinet with the original swiveling nylon tabs, and even the original dolly is included, secured to the bottom of the cab. The original two-button footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. The circuit is extremely original, with only a couple smaller caps and a modern three-prong power cord installed to ensure optimal functionality The stock transformers are present, and the original CTS pots date back to the 36th week of’64. The speakers are an incredibly clean sextet of original Jensen C10Q 10 drivers, with minty black frames, original cones, 1964 date codes, and an original, untouched wiring harness. All of the original barrel knobs are intact on the polished aluminum faceplate, which also retains all of the original black silkscreen text. Cosmetically, this Danelectro-made amp is stunning. The original charcoal covering shows sparingly little wear on either the head or cabinet, and the original grillcloth has plenty of sparkle in the gold thread. Up for sale, a 1958 Premier model 76 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Produced by Multivox-Premier in New York during the golden age of the electric guitar, the 76 model was a revolutionary for its time two-piece suitcase design. This two-channel amp is extremely original and also fully serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar to ensure optimal reliability and tone. Via the original Jensen field coil F12Q speaker, this amp delivers w. Arm, polite cleans with a bit of spank, but where the amp really thrives is when the Volume and Tone controls are dimed out. The overdrive this amp can deliver is astounding, with h. Uge saturated crunch that barks and spits with the best. The low end stays tight and the distortion is rich and dynamic. As an added bonus, the second channel features a tremolo circuit which. Goes quickly from subtle to full on square wave chop and cut, stuttering like few tremolo circuits can when you turn up the Intensity knob. The circuit retains the original transformers and all of the original pots as well, with a true point-to-point wired design. Both the preamp and power amp have been expertly recapped as necessary, leaving original components whenever possible and only swapping components when they ceased to function. The two halves of the amp connect with the original umbilical cable, and the original two-prong power cable is also intact. The Jensen speaker has a flawless deep green frame, original cone, and date code from early 1958. Cosmetically, the amp is extremely clean, with a polished brass faceplate with immaculate silkscreen graphics and a complete set of original (and colorful) bakelite knobs. The faux woodgrain and mustard covering on the amp is quite a bit more fragile than Fender tolex or even tweed, yet has remained completely intact along with the original black rubber feet and leather handle. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1965 Harmony H420 Vintage Valco, USA-Made Tube Amp Supro Thunderbolt Variant

Up for sale, a 1965 Harmony H420 tube amp, a rare Valco produced and USA-made alternative to the famed Supro Thunderbolt! Produced in the same Valco factory as the Thunderbolt and marketed by Harmony to pair with their guitar line, the H420 is extremely similar in terms of circuit and layout to its more famous Supro cousin, with the added benefit of individual Treble and Bass controls. Rich, powerful, and nuanced, the H420 pushes 35 watts through a pair of original RCA 6L6GC power tubes and the original Jensen C15N speaker. For everything from clean, wooly rhythm tones to saturated tube overdrive further up on the volume dial, this Harmony delivers a pure sound with a simple yet ingenious circuit. The circuit is completely stock, with CTS pots that date to 1965 and original impressively sized transformers as well. The faceplate retains its original shiny chrome appearance, with all of the original black silkscreen graphics and lettering, as well as a minty trio of stock witch hat knobs. The Jensen C15N speaker has a near mint black speaker frame, gold foil label on the ceramic magnet, and date code from’65. The original black ostrich tolex is extremely clean too, with only a few requisite scuffs and light marks of wear on the edges of the enclosure. The H420 is a great workingman’s amp for half the price of a Supro Thunderbolt! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1965 Kay Bass Amp Model 720 Vintage Tube Amp, USA-Made with 15 Speaker, RCA 6L6GC

Up for sale, a 1965 Kay Bass Amp model 720 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A rare vintage Kay all-tube design loaded with a single 15 alnico speaker, the 720 model is as straightforward and simple as vintage tube amp tone gets. The amp has a single channel with Volume and Tone knobs, and the tube rectified circuit is loaded with the original pair of RCA 6L6GC power tubes which deliver roughly 35 all-tube watts. This is a particularly dark sounding amp even with the Tone control pegged, and as such it’s a viable option for bass tracking in a studio at low volumes for a rumbly and thick sound. With guitar, the amp has a bold roar that overdrives smoothly with churning drive. Put a treble booster or any overdrive with an EQ section in front of the amp and this Kay responds beautifully with extra top end sizzle and dynamic range. The tube compliment, cabinet size, and speaker also lend themselves to a comparison with the Supro Thunderbolt, and it’s a fair comparison, as the two amps have much in common structurally and sonically. The circuit is virtually untouched with original transformers and a two-part chassis design that leaves the preamp mounted to the top of the amp and the power amp located in the bottom of the enclosure. The RCA 6L6GC power tubes sound great and have plenty of life, and the amp boasts a matching RCA rectifier as well. The stock Fisher 15 alnico speaker retains its original cone, with a clean frame and 1965 date stamp on the magnet bell. Cosmetically, the amp is extremely clean and the polished brass faceplate retains the original knobs as well as all of the black silkscreen text. The two-tone brown and blonde enclosure shows very little wear with the original handle, rubber feet present, and raised plastic Kay badge on the grillcloth. It’s as complete and well preserved example as we’ve ever seen of this model, or any vintage Kay amp for that matter! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1958 Danelectro Corporal Model 32 Vintage Tube Amp 2x8 USA-Made & Serviced

Up for sale, a 1958 Danelectro Corporal Model 32 tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Recently serviced and very original, this USA-made amp features two original Rola 8 alnico speakers and a complete vintage tube set including the pair of 50C5 power tubes. Great for guitar or harmonica, this amp has a punchy, midrange forward sound that has a distinctive bark, staying surprisingly clean at lower volumes. Dime out the volume and the circuit yields a bit of compression and rich overdrive while still staying quite focused in the bass frequencies. The circuit remains largely original, with the stock capacitors in the preamp, CTS pots that date to 1958, original transformer, and a professional recap of the main power supply. The Rola speakers both have original cones and sound great, and the stamps on the edges of the frames date the speakers to 1958 too. Cosmetically, the amp is very clean and well kept, with original tolex and grillcloth that show sparingly little wear. The plexi Danelectro logo on the face of the amp is intact, and the amp has been fitted with a new leather handle. Perhaps most surprisingly is the immaculate condition of the cardboard back panel with individual portholes for each tube.
