I’m letting go of a few things from from my collection, including this Masco MA35 vintage tube amplifier project. These make killer guitar amps! As you can see, the amp has been updated and converted for guitar use, but it is untested by me, though in the same condition as acquired – needs typical updates like new.

Late 1940s Masco MA-25PN. Originally a Public Address System. Now re-purposed into a fully restored amplifier. All components have been tested/replaced if out of spec, and ran this amp wide open for hours. Tubes have all been tested and ran for audio/instrument clarity. 30 Watts Class A. Original Output, Replaced Power with Transformer from Era. Sounds amazing, tuned, ready to inspire! Original Knobs and Paint. Amp has been altered from it’s original wiring circuit. We jumper all channels as one. This mod allows you complete access to all of the channels if you like, or just one at a time. They all sound slightly different. 6J7 Preamp (4), one for each channel. Russian 6SL7 Phase (1), bass and treble controls. 5U4 Single Rectified (1). New grounded cord and plug. 1/4″ stereo input, 1/4″ mono outputs in 4,8,16, ohm operation. This is a killer Masco ME27 hand wired point to point 50s tube amp. Bill from Austin Vintage Guitars has replaced caps, resistors and one tube. The other tubes are vintage old stock from that same era (according to Bill) and tested strong. He did some modifications which made it more user friendly and he also gave mic/input 2 a tone knob. So mic/input 2 has 2 tone knobs that give you tons of flavors. He also did 2 outputs to speaker. One is for for 8ohms and the other is for 16ohms. It had the funky pin to hole ohm selector on the back and I wasn’t a fan of it, so he changed it for me. It has a 3 prong cable. It has a very nice crystal like clean and the crunch on this amp is like no other. I own several amps and pedals that cant mimic the dirt this amp puts out. It’s very unique. The amp works perfectly and sounds incredible. Yes it can get loud. There is plenty of cosmetic wear being it’s around 65 years old, but it’s excellent perfect working condition. I’ve got the old caps, etc. And the receipts of all the work Bill did to it.
