Up for sale, a 1962 Rex model 6143 Class A tube amplifier in excellent condition and in good working order. Made by Valco in the USA (the parent company responsible for Supro, National, Airline, and others), this amp has a responsive snappy sound that quickly overdrives. The circuit retains the original Magnetic Components output transformer which dates to 1962, and the tube compliment includes a 50L5 power tube, 35Z5 rectifier, and ECC83 and 117Z3 valves in the preamp. The original 8 Jensen speaker retains its original speaker cone, with the original square foil label on the alnico magnet. The cabinet retains the original fawn textured covering, with stock handle and feet. The brass plating on the chassis shows moderate patina, and there’s a bit of light wear on the corners of the enclosure as well.
