Eico HF-20 Mono Integrated Hifi Audio 6L6GC Tube 20-Watt Power Amplifier 1958

Vintage EICO model HF-20 mono integrated tube power amplifier, WITHOUT cage. It dates from approximately 1958, and is in original as-found condition with wear and cosmetic issues consistent with its age. The 2-prong power cord is fairly stiff and the strain relief grommet where it enters the chassis has crumbled. The AC receptacle on the rear panel labeled “Phono Power” is chipped. There is a small gouge at the center top of the screening on the rear panel where it once indicated “HF-20″ as shown. All electrical components appear to be original. Note that there’s a crease in the top of one of the multi-section electrolytic capacitors as shown in pics. There is some minor corrosion on the end bells of the output transformer, and some flaking of the finish around some of the mounting screws on the top of the chassis. The knobs have various scratches as shown. The tubes used are a mix of RCA, GE, Tung-Sol, Realistic, and Groove Tubes, and are types: 6L6GC/5881, 12AX7-ECC83, 12AU7/A, and 5U4GB. NOTE: This amplifier was briefly tested at line voltage and idled without incident or excessive hum through an 8-ohm speaker. A Sony Discman CD player was connected to the “Phono-2″ RCA input on the rear panel, and it played to a comfortable level. The EQ controls appeared to affect their respective frequency ranges. As this is a 60+ -year-old electronic device, no guarantee is being made as to its operating condition or specifications. It should be presumed that it could be in need of restorative or repair work to perform as intended.
