Up for sale, a 2018 Vintage Sound 40BR amplifier head and matching 2×10 cabinet in near mint condition and in perfect working order. Based on the revered Brownface Vibroverb circuit, this 40BR is a point-to-point hand-wired amplifier utilizing top quality electrolytics, carbon comp resistors, Orange Drop tone caps, solid core push-back wire, and custom transformers that are hand-wound in the USA. The head and cabinet take an aesthetic page from Fender’s 1950′s playbook with diagonal ambered lacquered Tweed and Oxblood grillcloth, with a forward-facing deep brown faceplate and full compliment of cream barrel knobs. As Fender’s first reverb-equipped combo and an amp that can command a five figure price tag on the vintage market, the 1963 iteration of the Vibroverb is captured in all its glory in Vintage Sound’s 40BR. A welcome addition to any player’s arsenal, this amp delivers the bold cleans, and warm, textured overdrive of the early Vibroverb circuit, as well as the splash and decay of true tube-driven spring Reverb and the pulse and chop of the bias-based Tremolo circuit. The select pine cabinet is constructed with dovetail joints and features a birch ply baffle, loaded with the stock pair of Warehouse G10C speakers. A tube rectified, 6L6 driven affair, the circuit features a matched pair of TAD 6L6s, with a TAD GZ34 (5AR4) rectifier and a host of dual triode preamp tubes, also branded TAD and Electro Harmonix. The head features adjustable bias points, an Ohms selector for 2, 4 or 8 ohm cabinets, and a Dwell knob, providing additional control over the Reverb effect. Cosmetically, this amp is positively pristine with virtually no wear to report on the lacquered tweed. The original two-button footswitch is included. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender Blackface models for its ideal size and power, performing well both on stage and in the studio with shimmering Fender cleans and smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive when you push the amp towards 10 on the volume dial. Clean and sweet up til about 5 on the volume knob (with a perceived volume that’s loud enough to keep up with an aggressive drummer), the Vibrolux has smooth attack and tube rectifier sag, not to mention lush tube reverb and punchy tremolo. The circuit is stunningly straight, save for new electrolytic caps in the preamp and power amp, cleanly sleeved in their original Minimite wrappers. The original Schumacher transformers all date to 1966, and the preamp features a full compliment of original blue molded Ajax caps, a key ingredient in the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Blackface circuits. All of the original CTS pots are intact too, dating to’66. The Oxford 10 speakers are a pair of vintage drivers with clean black frames and blue foil Fender stickers, both dating a few years later than the amp but otherwise identical to the stock speakers. The tube chart is intact, and strangely oriented upside down, with a PH date stamp which translates to August of 1966. The pair of Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tubes are optimally biased, and the preamp tubes are all modern valves from the likes of Electro Harmonix and Sovtek. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, and the hardware includes the full compliment of witch hat knobs, raised logo, handle caps, chassis straps, corners, and sphinx glides (feet). The upper back panel is original, and the lower panel is a vintage-spec replacement. The original two-button footswitch is included. Who knew that Duncan designed great amplifiers too! A simple valve amp, yet with many features! It’s got two channels with a shared parametric EQ set of bass, mid and treble. Got a nice sounding onboard TRUE spring reverb with a large, long tank! Send and return jacks for effects loop. Also a footswitch (not included) jack. But there is also an onboard channel selector switch, which is really convenient. 2 10 custom made speakers round out the fairly stout feature set. But back to the 2 channels of this unit, as I’m guessing that the SOUND of this box is what you are wondering about. Channel one, which has a volume and overdrive knob that have “pull bright” and “pull boost” functions, is definitely your clean platform. I think the “overdrive” function is really a misnomer. Because even if you max out that knob and additionally pull out the boost, you will NOT get overdrive. What you DO get is a nice, shimmery V-x AC style “crunch” that sounds like the amp just crested the point over the edge of breakup. Makes sense since this machine has 4, count em’ FOUR EL-84 tubes! SD should really have called the overdrive knob on the 1st channel something more like the “grit” control! Now, channel two, you WILL get overdrive. It gets progressively dirtier. Not gonna get you into distortion territory, but pull out the boost and I feel that the amp goes into turbo overdrive! I really like the way the 84-40 sounds in this mode! Just make sure to turn down the gain when you do so, unless you want to get some gnarly fuzz…. You CAN get a version of it with the control set high and the boost pulled out. Makes this a very versatile sonic tool for you to paint your tonal landscapes! And Blues Rock phenom Joe Bonamassa LOVES these Seymour Duncan Amps, too! Check out youtube videos to see Joe gushing over the Convertible model! Grab this rare gem now before someone else does! Please read the condition description, these listing details and examine the pictures carefully. Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Export Model, very original and given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. A very rare Export Model designed with a rotary voltage selector on the back panel, this amp works with worldwide voltages from 117 to 240v. This Vibrolux has been thoroughly serviced to balance originality and functionality, boasting a recap of the power supply with Sprague Atoms and a modern three-prong power cable. The original Schumacher-made power and output transformers are intact and date to’66, and the original choke and reverb transformer are present too. The preamp is extremely original and straight, with all of the blue molded Ajax tone caps which are a hallmark of the Blackface sound. The CTS pots also date to 1966. The pair of Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tubes sound wonderful and are optimally biased, and the preamp tubes are a compliment of vintage and modern valves which function as intended. The original Oxford 10 10L5 speakers sound fantastic, and both speakers feature original cones which are still tight, yet nicely worked in. The tube chart is fully intact, noting the AA864 circuit with a “QB” date code which translates to February of’67 (customarily the latest date code on a Fender amp). The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, along with all of the stock hardware and the original raised Fender logo on the amp’s face. The edges of the enclosure show a bit of honest wear from the past half century, but as the photos show, this Vibrolux presents very well. A rare iteration of one of Fender’s best mid-size Blackface combos, this Export Model Vibrolux Reverb is tonally stunning, very original, and fully serviced to sound its best. 1961 Fender Super Vintage Tube Amp Pre-CBS Brownface 2x10 Jensen P10Q, 6G4

1961 Fender Super Vintage Tube Amp Pre-CBS Brownface 2×10 Jensen P10Q, 6G4. 1961 Fender Super in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This Brownface Pre-CBS tube amp was produced February 1961 with original transformers, a very original and freshly serviced chassis circuit, a full compliment of vintage tubes/tube shields, brown foot switch, and a pair of vintage 1958 blue frame Jensen P10Q alnico speakers with fresh recones. The rough brown tolex is intact along with the original oxblood grillcloth. As the photos show, the tolex and grill are particularly clean, and both back panels are present too. All hardware is stock and accounted for including the dark brown plastic “dogbone” handle, corners, sphinx glides (feet), and flat “Fender” logo on the amp’s face. The circuit has just been thoroughly tested by the Amp Guys (maker of Valve Train amps in Orlando/ invoice included) and the original yellow Astron capacitors in the preamp are all intact. Aside from replacing the two bias caps, adding a bias trim pot, as well as the vibrato caps, the preamp is untouched. The original CTS pots are all intact too. The power amp has been recapped with new F&T caps (encased in the Astron cardboard covering) to ensure reliable, trouble-free use for years to come. 3 prong grey power cord. The tubes consist of a matched pair of USA 5881 RCA along with a host of vintage preamp tubes by RCA and General Electric. The speakers are an original pair of Jensen P10Qs (though non original to the amp). Both speakers have clean frames with only light speckles of rust and clean Jensen labels. A direct descendant of the Tweed era Super amp, this early Brownface example sports the same transformers and speakers as its close predecessor, delivering hi-fi clarity and sparkling, robust clean tones. Turning the amp up past 5 on the volume dial yields thick, chewy overdrive with great touch-sensitive responsiveness and EQ controls that have an incredibly wide sweep. And of course this is the most compact Brownface-era amp to feature the “Harmonic Vibrato” circuit. A true pitch shifting vibrato (not the tremolo found on most Fender amps), the Harmonic Vibrato sound has a thick, Leslie-esque throb and warble, with a three-dimensional quality and depth that is perfectly suited to the speaker compliment and cabinet size. Whether you want a slow, undulating swampy sound or faster, pulsating vibrato, this Super delivers the goods. The item “1961 Fender Super Vintage Tube Amp Pre-CBS Brownface 2×10 Jensen P10Q, 6G4″ is in sale since Thursday, September 5, 2019. 1954 Fender Super Tweed Wide Panel Vintage Tube Amp 2x10 with Jensen P10R, 5D4

Up for sale, a 1954 Fender Super, complete a pair of Jensen P10R alnico 10 speakers. A “Wide Panel” Tweed amp, this particular iteration of the Super is one of the earliest examples of the 5D4 circuit, only available from 1954-55. The Tweed Super is the baby brother of the Bassman in many respects, offering the same harmonic rich, dynamic tones in a more studio friendly and portable enclosure. The low end is wooly and thick, the midrange has just the right amount of punch, and the top end is classic’50s Fender with detail and balance that few other amps can match. Clear and present, with incredible low end response even at low volumes, the Super allows you to easily dial in the right amount of bite and a touch of overdrive when you dig in. After around 4-5 on the volume dial, the amp cascades into full tube saturation, with sweet, singing overdrive. Thoroughly maintained, this Fender Super sounds every bit as good as vintage amp lore would suggest. The circuit has just been gone through by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, and the preamp boasts a bevy of original Black Cat tone caps as well as the original trio of Stackpole pots which date to’54. An original Astron “dynamite” cap is coupled to the Tone control, and the majority of the original resistors are intact too. The power amp has been professionally recapped with Sprague Atom capacitors to ensure optimal performance and stability. The power transformer is the original Triad, and the open bell output transformer appears original or at least era-correct, dating to 1954 although the leads have been spliced. On the faceplate, the stock chicken head knobs are intact and a modest amount of the original white lettering is present as well. The 5D4 circuit was also the first Super to feature a Standby switch, like the example seen here. The amp is fitted with a pair of vintage Jensen P10R speakers with very dark green frames and professional recones, dating to the first weeks of 1960. The stock tube chart is present and quite clean, denoting the 5C4 circuit, but also modified by hand at the factory to reflect the updated tube compliment of the 5D4 circuit (a common occurrence given how quickly circuits changed in the’50s and Leo Fender’s propensity to not waste anything). The amp has an older and extremely well executed retweed, very faithful to original spec and lightly aged. The lower back panel, in contrast, does have its original tweed covering. Comparable only to the Bassman in terms of Fender’s tweed dual 6L6 offerings, the Super is a standout favorite among collectors and players alike! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value. 1969 Fender Deluxe Reverb Combo. Puts out about 35 watts into a 4 ohm load through two 10 Jensen alnico speakers. The amp is in decent overall condition for its age and has all the good ol’ Fender mojo one could ask for. Two replacement Jensen Alnico. Speakers are P10R with serial number 2201250, which indicate that they were made in the 50th week of 2012. Speaker wire and plug is repro from Mojotone. PT serial number: L022723 606-4-27 CSA 827. OT serial number: 022848 8316605. Choke serial number: 022707 606825. Reverb tranny serial number:022921 606-8-42. The pre-amp tubes are all Electro-Harmonix12AX7EH and 12AT7EH (Made in Russia). Audio capacitors have been changed to yellow Mallory 150 M. This amp most likely had the brown capacitors from the factory. Filter caps, Bias cap, and Electrolytic capacitors on the circuit board have been changed at some point most likely due to amp maintenance. Reverb tank and cover are repros from Mojotone. Reverb wire looks original. Cap can is repro from Mojotone. Preamp tube shields are repro from Mojotone. The amp does not come with a footswitch or cover.
