Quad of EI Mullard EL84 6BQ5 Made in Yugoslavia Vintage 1968 Vacuum Tubes. Test good on my tester. I removed from a working Vox AC30 guitar amp I owned a number of years ago. Date codes appear to be KM4 Q(not actually a Q but a similar looking character which represents Yugoslavia) 81 which indicates Nis, Yugoslavia 1968.

Vintage AKAI M-8 Left & Right 6BQ5 Tube Amplifiers. The amplifiers were tested in the recorder and got power and sound output with the microphone jacks. Both AV meters were tested and working. The sound was a little jumpy/scratchy and the volume knob on the right amplifier feels loose – not turning quite right and probably needs replacement. The tubes have not been tested outside of power and sound testing. The faces on both are in good condition with some light wear and dust. There is some oxidation on some of the metal parts on the back. We are including the transformer and some cords including the AC cord that originally went with the recorder. They do not connect directly to the amps but thought they might be useful. Please see all the photos. The amplifiers each measure 12-1/2 x 5-1/2 x 5. Vintage Zenith Stereo Hi-Fi 6BQ5 Tube Amplifier Model 4K21 – See Video. We tested a turntable with it, and it was also working. We tested the 6BQ5 tubes with a tube tester, and both tested below the minimum good value of 50 (tested at 46 and 44) and had shorts. The 12AX7 was tested right at the minimum value of 32. We did not test the 5Y3. The last photo of the tube diagram was from the console it came from and is not included, for reference only. Cosmetically, it is in good condition with light wear and some marks/stains on the face. The amplifier may need updating or repair, even though it was functional, due to its age. Please see all the photos. It has Stancor Power Transformer 95-1953, 20VAC, 50/60 Cycles, 1386226. It has 2 output transformers by Ensign Coil (95-1957-AR, 1726218). The face measures 13-1/8 x 6. Vintage Roberts/AKAI 990 Left and Right Tube Amplifier – 6BQ5. The amplifiers were tested in the reel-to-reel recorder, and both powered on. We tested both the left and right amplifiers using a microphone. The left amplifier and VU meter functioned properly with good output. However, we were unable to get the right amplifier working and were unsure whether it was connected incorrectly or if there were other issues. The tubes were tested using a Hickok TV-7/U tube tester-see below for test results. Cosmetically, the unit is in good condition with some light wear and dust. Please review all photos for details. The tubes tested as follows. Left Amp : 6BQ5 – 50 min. Value 50; 6AR5 – 78 min. Value 40; 12AD7 – Triode 1: 38, Triode 2: 42 min. Value 32; 6267 – 27 min. Right Amp : 6BQ5 – has shorts, tested 42 min. Value 50; 12AD7 – Triode 1: 46, Triode 2: 46 min. Value 32; 6267 – 22 min. The 6X4 tubes were not tested. The amplifiers each measure 12.5 x 5.5 x 5. Combined weight is 18 lbs 10 oz.

Popularly converted to a Dr. Z-type 18W guitar amp… This example is a good solid candidate with just minor cosmetic stains and blemishes. Uses a couple EL84 types for output, included are two used 6BQ5, printing is nearly gone and remaining life is uncertain, but it’s a place to start. Thank you for looking!
