This listing includes a beautiful vintage Heathkit AA-121 stereo vacuum tube amplifier in exceptionally clean and electrically restored condition. Some of the work that was done to this amplifier includes: all of the tubes recently tested strong, the EL-34 / 6CA7 output tubes were matched and balanced, bad and out of spec capacitors were replaced, out of spec resistors were replaced, all solder joints have been inspected and any loose connections were re-soldered. As the photos show, the electrical work was done very well. As the photos also show, this vintage amp is very clean, inside and out, with only minor cosmetic wear. The original cage is also in fantastic shape. This amplifier has been well cared for over the years and there is virtually no corrosion anywhere on it. The power cord is in good condition and is not brittle. All of the lettering on the face and chassis is clear and easy to read. The two back feet, on the bottom of this amp, have been replaced with heavy-duty feet to better support the substantial weight of the three transformers. All of the tubes shown are included with this amp. Three of the El-34 tubes were made in Great Britain, and I believe them to be Mullards. I believe the fourth EL-34 tube is a vintage GE tube. Again, all of the tubes have recently tested strong and the output tubes are matched based on recent test results. This is a beautiful example of a vintage Heathkit tube amplifier in good working condition and it comes as shown in the photos. Vintage Dynakit Stereo ST-70 Tube Amplifier in good working condition; quiet with no hum. Pretty impressive for a 50-60-year-old amp; a testament I think to its design and parts used. Powered up slowly on a variac with speakers attached. Comes with all tubes shown which were tested to be fine and a cage. All original circuitry and should be checked out by a tech for everyday use. The specified 5AR4 rectifier has been substituted by a 5U4 which is approved in the original Dyna manual for temporary use but that was when the other components were new and robust, so that should be changed out soon as their characteristics are different. I wanted to offer a working unit so that is why Im including it. Also, due to age and storage, the chrome is pitted and a foot is missing. The EL34/6CA7 tubes are new, made in China. The other tubes are vintage. Classic good sounding Dynaco for your collection. These are automatically added to the final invoice and I’m not able to delete or adjust them. Also, recently Fed Ex and the other carriers have dramatically increased costs when factoring even a small amount of dimensional weight (size of the box).
