Akai M-8 Reel to Reel – VINTAGE TUBE AMP – Cross Field Heads-tested/works! .

Vintage AKAI M-8 Left & Right 6BQ5 Tube Amplifiers. The amplifiers were tested in the recorder and got power and sound output with the microphone jacks. Both AV meters were tested and working. The sound was a little jumpy/scratchy and the volume knob on the right amplifier feels loose – not turning quite right and probably needs replacement. The tubes have not been tested outside of power and sound testing. The faces on both are in good condition with some light wear and dust. There is some oxidation on some of the metal parts on the back. We are including the transformer and some cords including the AC cord that originally went with the recorder. They do not connect directly to the amps but thought they might be useful. Please see all the photos. The amplifiers each measure 12-1/2 x 5-1/2 x 5. I bought this a few months ago as a working unit. I’ve never had a tape to see if it does work but As far as I know it does. The product is an Akai M-8 Cross Field Stereo Reel-to-Reel tape recorder with vintage tube amp technology. It is a dual reel-to-reel system that is in working condition. This vintage audio equipment is a piece of consumer electronics that falls under the category of vintage electronics.

What you are looking at is a set of very cool looking retro mono blocs tube amps pulled from a Roberts 770X reel to reel. Condition is VG with original tubes. Units were removed and converted to mono amps to be used in a stereo system. Only volume and power. There are no tops, feet or cases. What you see is what you get. New power cords and blue LEDs installed for the meters. Will include 4 gold connectors.

Up for sale is a Roberts / AKAI A-901 Pre Vintage Reference Stereo Amplifier & 90-C Reel Recorder with Speaker. This listing includes an Roberts 90-C Tube Reel to Reel Recorder, a Roberts A-901 Stereo Tube Amplifier, and a Roberts speaker. The reel to reel player plays, fast forwards, and rewinds great. I haven’t run a tape in it though. The amplifier pushes good sound and power when connecting an input and outputting to the portable speaker. The speaker inside of the amplifier itself does not pit out any sound for some reason. It could be a tube. All of the tubes seem to light up except for one.
