Up for sale is a vintage Ampex Model 620 powered amplifier-speaker monitor. This unit is in beautiful cosmetic condition with a clean faceplate, original knobs, intact grill cloth, and a solid suitcase enclosure. Ampex Model 620 powered amplifier-speaker monitor I have used for years. Sometimes in my studio and sometimes in remote recordings. It has a JBL speakers and both units are in very good condition all original with power cables. I did recap it about 11 or 12 years ago. The brown leather-like exterior shows some minor scuffing and signs of use consistent with its age, including minor paint scrapes on the side ventilation grill, light surface oxidation on the metal rim around the rear recessed panel. When closed, the case measures approximately 17 x 14 x 8 1/2 inches and weighs about 24 pounds. This item is listed in multiple sites as well as locally. There is a slight chance that it may sell before I can remove the item from this site. I reserve the right to cancel the listing at any time.

Vintage Vacuum Tubes, Sovtek, RAM, Ampex, Groove Tubes (Lot of 77). This is a Bulk lot of 77 various vintage and custom amplifier and pre amp tubes. Most of these were acquired through an Estate sale of a former hi-fi audio store owner. Others are from a former touring musician and guitarist. The tubes look to be in great condition, however have not been tested. Tubes are: Sovtek, Svetlana, Groove Tubes, RAM Custom Santa Barbara, RCA, Sylvania, Mesa Boogie, Ampex, Fisher, National, and London Colomor, Technical Trading Co.

VINTAGE Ampex TUBE Speaker Amplifier Model A-692 POWERS UP. I plugged the amp in and it powers up and the tubes light up. I plugged an electric guitar into the “Tape” jack but could not get any sound out of the amp. Amp case still looks good. It is missing one of the knobs. In the last 2 photos you can see that the amp powers up with the pilot light on and the tubes lit up. This amp is heavy, 30 pounds.

The empty octal socket on the chassis is likely for a plug-in type transformer. Further research and reverse engineering of the wiring may help yield a better idea of what this unit was used for. There is wear from use/storage like scratches, scuffs and dust. Comes with one Jones plug and tubes. 2 x General Electric 12AX7. 1 x RCA 6AQ5. 1 x General Electric 6X4. For sale Ampex 620 amplifier, came from suitcase amps. Made in the mid 1950s, it’s have hum noise from filter capacitor, before use, need replace some parts.

This is for the pair of Ampex 6L6 amplifiers as shown. They do not include any tubes and will need tubes. One of the amps appears to have had the capacitors replaced and a wire cut from the switch and the fuse. I’m not sure if this has been bypassed for some reason and perhaps that’s why this was done.
