The original, excellent, ADC transformers are guaranteed but this unit has been untested and the original capacitors must be replaced before applying power. So Collins made some of the best sounding tube equipment from the late 1940s through the early 60s and this Collins 12Z is evidence of that. The build quality of this surpasses most other American makers of the time and rivals the German equipment made by Telefunken, EAB, and others of the same period. The 12Z is so overbuilt right down to the machined aluminum knobs. It is packed with transformers made by Thordarson, and attenuators by Daven.
