I suspect this unit originally housed Naval or aircraft Communications equipment or something of that nature. The unit is made entirely of High Quality aluminum. It is heavily braced and reinforced yet it is extremely lightweight for it’s size. Features flaps or doors that cover the front mounting hardware. This unit is not marked with a manufacture but the twist lock knobs on the front are marked “Dzus X-486″ and the inside of each hardware flap is marked ” AN257-5 “. I believe the “An257-5″ may refer to a military communications radio model #. Overall condition is decent it shows some heavy wear from use but it is fully functioning and very solid. Mostly the wear is to the paint or finish but there is also a medium size dent on the lower right side and the handle is missing form the right side. Comes as pictured without mounting hardware. Check the pictures for a more info. Measures 22″ W x 43″ H x 18 D. Fits standard 19 rack mount gear. The unit is large and is considered a oversize 3 package.
