For sale is a very scarce “ASTRONIC” Associated Electronic Engineers Ltd. PP KT66 monoblock amplifier, Model A1254C. This was UK made in 1954 and has an output of 12-15 watts. The 1254C was designed to mate with the 1280H tone control unit/preamp. Surprisingly, both have stayed together all of these years. Condition is as you see it in the photographs. Both units are in decent physical condition for their age with some small dents in transformer cover. Both of the front panels look like they illumiate. The clear panels need to be wiped down, front and back. No cracks or scratches. There are no signs of obvious electrical failure in either unit. They are massive for the tube layout and extremely well made, as is the entire system.

For sale is a rare set of Quad II / Quad 22 tube amplifier and preamplifier from England in as-is untested condition. I did not attempt to power this up since I don’t have transformer. Please note these are 220-240V. You will be getting exact units that are in the picture. They are missing tubes as shown, and the preamp is also missing 1 button cover. The amp are fairly close match serial #74508 and #74835. The preamp has the cable to connect to the amp, but is missing the power cord. All unit are in fair physical condition given their age, they do have scuff, some pittings/rust on all of the chassis. Many of these items will have issue that is unknown to me, or should be expected for equipment of vintage nature. All items should be inspect by qualify service man and get check out before long term use. In certain case where I can test the item, I will report the extend of my test and the result. Again please expect that the unit may have more issue than what I stated here, and no return will be accept for that reason. Please study the picture carefully as they are part of the description. This is a pair of the Heathkit W-5M model mono amplifiers. They are in clean condition and I have not plugged them in or tested them at all as they probably need to be brought up slowly to avoid damage to them. Both of them have the pair of Genalax KT66 tubes in them that I haven’t tested as well. They both have the silver Peerless/Altec Lansing 16458 output transformers in them and both have the Peerless stickers on them. The cabinets show some scratches on the gold front and sides and the black covers have some age type spots of wear on them as well and one is missing the Heathkit nameplate. Here is a Pair of Quad II audio monoblock tube amplifiers. I replaced the cheap chinese tubes with Vintage Genalex GEC KT66 tubes which I tested on my calibrated TV7 tube tester. In addition, the amp has a RCA 5V4 rectifier and two Genalez EF86 tubes. I have included the AC wall plugs & the input and output plugs needed to get it working right away. I have replaced in each amp a resistor and an electrolytic capacitor. I ran them for several hours and they sound wonderful. They have heavy output transformers which help to make these amps sound so good. You will hear that vintage tube sound. This is a pair of vintage custom mono tube amplifiers from the 50s. I found each one about 5 years apart from different sources, but the chassis are virtually identical with slight differences in components. Both have Acrosound transformers. One a TO-300, the other a TO-305 which I believe is the same but has an additional 500 ohm out winding. They feature 7N7 front end tubes which are known in the DIY community to be wonderful tubes, basically 6SN7s with a Loctal base. Output tubes are each a matched pair of Gold Lion KT66s. These are plug and play. They have been serviced with essential required components replaced. I have had them playing in my system occasionally for the last year or so and are incredible sounding amplifiers. They will blow away anything you have with a similar topology – in and beyond a pretty modest price range. Put them up against your friend’s fancy boutique ridiculousness high dollar amps and watch their jaws drop. I hope to pass these on to someone who really likes listening to great sounding tube amps and doesnt really want to bother with the rest. This is not “a” Williamson Amplifier, this is “THE” Williamson Amplifier. The British made original whose circuit design became the de facto standard for push-pull HiFi amps. Complete with power supply unit and umbilical cord. A few resistors and capacitors appear to be changed out, but largely these units are original and in remarkable shape for their age. They came from the estate of a local old school TV repairman. There simply are none available to compare. I can’t even find a picture of a complete unit like the one I have here. This should be in a museum or serious collection. I have not plugged these in, and I will not. This is something that needs to be carefully restored by an expert. I have no reason to believe that the amp doesn’t work, as it was found hooked up to a speaker. I will listen to serious offers, but would also just appreciate advice on how to determine a value for this. The amp can also be inspected in person in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA.
