Vintage 1965 Harmony H303B “Widowmaker” amp in good working condition. Amp has been fully serviced with Nichicon capacitors, 3 prong power cable wired in correct polarity no shocks! , and a replacement Jensen speaker from 1999. Still has a full compliment of vintage tubes. This amp still has the original grill cloth and rear back panel and is in good shape. Shows some typical wear including snags and discoloration in the grill cloth, wear to the original tolex, and wear to the original leather handle, but overall well taken care of. Was used with a vintage Aloha pedal steel and wasn’t beat on or abused. No smoke or pet odors. Shows normal signs of use and wear for an amp of its age, but overall a really cool little amplifier that works great and has had the right work done to it to keep it running for the next few decades and to prevent any nasty shocks that earned it the Widowmaker namesake. Note: this is a vintage item. UP for sale is one terrific and classic tube amplifier from Gibson… Terrific in its sound, amazing in its simplicity of controls! It’s got two instrument inputs…. Apparently both stay at one volume… But not too loud! I’m going to say it sounds like a 5 watt compact tube amp that is maxed out. 7-10 watts at most. The microphone input is where you get more versatility with this machine. The lone volume knob on the amp is for controlling the volume level on this input. Stays nice and clean at low volumes, with a sound similar to the 2 instrument inputs. Nice, warm, and round, just like a tube amp should sound! But turn the volume up pretty high and/or all the way to max, and you start to get that greasy, dirty, grungy yet sweet F-nder tweed like overdrive from pushing the tubes into breakup and getting the amp to compress that so many legends of previous days favored as their sound (or one of them), like Jimmy Page and Keith Richards! But turn the volume down on your guitar and this amp cleans your signal up just like a good tube amp should! You CAN get more chime-y, jangly V-X type crunch from this guitar if you don’t turn the volume up too high, like at around 4, depending once again on the guitar you are using. So many types of sounds to be coaxed out of this underrated amp. And all with the twisting of your volume knob! Get it now before someone else adds it to their vintage collection!
