It was designed as a companion unit for Kennedy regenerative radio receivers to provide two stages of audio amplification. Key Features & Markings. “Type 521 Two Stage Amplifier” clearly marked on the front panel. Kennedy Equipment logo and company markings (San Francisco / Saint Louis). Original metal serial number plate: L4621W1. Bakelite knobs, filament controls, binding posts for A/B batteries, phones output, and antenna/tuner connections. Original wood base and dark finish case. Perfect for antique radio collectors, early wireless enthusiasts, or display with a Kennedy 281 or similar crystal/regenerative set. A piece of radio history from the dawn of the broadcast era! Unit powers on condition is unknown – I do not have the equipment or knowledge to fully test it safely. Cosmetically it shows normal wear from age and use including scratches, marks, dust, and handwritten markings around knobs. Interior appears largely complete from what I can see in the chassis. Plugged this in and the tubes faintly light up, but that is the extent of which I have tested it. Cosmetically in Greta condition, but could use a clean, there’s some dirt all around. See photos for condition and signs of wear.

I’m letting go of a few things from from my collection, including this Hoffman A 300 vintage tube amplifier project. This old tube radio chassis has been stripped of the radio components, and is ready to convert into a killer guitar amp! Has the right voltage range for a 5C1 Octal Champ, either use the 6×5 rectifier or convert to diodes to raise the B+. Power and output transformers are there, and tube sockets. Needs your own circuit installed – and typical updates like new. Servicing, caps, desired mods/conversion, and tubes if you want different than stock.

I don’t have a power cord. REMEMBER THE MOPA WORKS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE GB 4000 AND A PLASMA TUBE. BY ITSELF, IT IS USELESS.
