Up for a sale in this nice little Carvin combo I bought new years ago and has seen only limited, smoke-free studio use. It’s got a UK-made Celestion Vintage 30 12 speaker which go by themselves on the used market for about a hundred bucks. Amp was made in the Carvin factory in San Diego and, alas, made no more because Carvin is out of the amp business. It’s got great spring reverb something that’s kind of hard to find these days. It sounds a lot like a Fender Princeton. Just loud enough for you. Here’s what Carvin says about the amp: The Vintage 16 is the low-wattage, “boutique” recording tube amp so many players are looking for. Everything about this little amp “oozes” tone. The SOAK control goes from stout clean tones with rich midrange body to a filling upper-midrange snarl defining its tweed sound. Vintage Jackson Model JG2 50 Watt Tube Guitar Amp Works Great! Made in England This is a rare bird, as only 500 were made. Jackson had just done the Randy Rhoads Guitar, and then contracted Laney to build them a Randy Rhoads Amplifier. After the first batch due to mounting costs they scrapped the project and decided to just stay in the guitar market. This amp sounds like a hot rodded mix of a Marshall JMP and Plexi. The added gain comes from pulling the mid pot out which engages a midboost, and a 3 setting Orange style FAC knob to control how compressed you want the mids. Input one is the high gain channel and input two the clean channel, when plugged into input one you have control over both knobs to blend each channels distortion. When you plug into input two you just have the clean channel and input one knob is disabled. Everything from sparkling cleans to classic rock to classic metal tones. 50 watts powered by 2 El34s.
