VINTAGE Ampex TUBE Speaker Amplifier Model A-692 POWERS UP. I plugged the amp in and it powers up and the tubes light up. I plugged an electric guitar into the “Tape” jack but could not get any sound out of the amp. Amp case still looks good. It is missing one of the knobs. In the last 2 photos you can see that the amp powers up with the pilot light on and the tubes lit up. This amp is heavy, 30 pounds.

Everything appears to be there to make a self contained guitar amp, or head. Uses a 6×5 rectifier, 6v6 power tubes, and 6sn7 with dual 6sc7 preamp tubes – tubes are all vintage.

Vintage Bell & Howell Filmosound 385 Tube Amplifier Amp & Speaker – Tested WORKS. Tested and working (a mp was tested on a stepdown converter due to the age). A soft static sound is heard from speaker while amp is on. When playing sound through the amp, the audio will be louder background static at normal volume levels when the knob is above the halfway mark. Static sound does not increase with volume level. All Bell and Howell branded tubes installed. Amplifier is unrestored, service is recommended before further use. Original projector speaker included, working. Standard signs of use.
