I have owned this amp since the late 1970′s and it was my first guitar amp but I rarely used it. I think it was made in the 1950′s and it is a “Varsity” model. These originally came with matching lap steal guitars for students. It has all the same original parts and tubes that it came with and the same as when I got it. There is some wear and tear on the amp that you can see clearly in the photos. It displays really great and sounds wonderful. When you turn it on, it warms up then runs quiet and sounds fantastic! It has the original 6 speaker in it and the original tubes. Back in the 1980′s I replaced the electrical power cord with a nice flexible and safe one. It is the typical “mother of pearl” finish and this one is a gray and dark maroon color. These sound good and are very cool practice or recording amps! See the photos for the full story. It seems to sound about as loud as a Fender Champ amp? Either way, it is a rare amp and they are harder to find in this condition.
