Rare Vintage 1938 Rickenbacker 12 Electro Tube Amplifier – 5 watts. Up for sale here is this. 1938 Rickenbacker tube amp, most likely used with an electric lap steel guitar. This is possibly a 200A amp model. It is covered in its original canvas-style outer lining. This is one of the coolest vintage amps I’ve owned. The amp produces approximately 3-5 watts of power. It features two inputs and a volume control, as well as an on/off switch and power fuse. For the rest of the electrical. T has two 7N7 pre-amplifier tubes, two 7C5 power tubes and a 5V4 rectifier tube. The original 12 field coil speaker is installed, which I had re-coned. The wiring was previously updated with some new wires, three-prong plug, and capacitors. The original large capacitor, visible outside (looks like a metal can), is installed but bypassed. This was an estate sale find. I was on the hunt for a unit I could restore while I picked up bits and pieces of electronics knowledge. Well I decided the high voltages involved were perhaps not the kind of project for a neophyte. I have just been admiring this and a few others I collected and decided to pass them on.
