This is a Vintage 1967 Silvertone Model 1484 Twin Twelve 2×12 Guitar Combo head and cabinet. Silvertone was a trade name of the Sears, Co. This amp was made in the USA by Danelectro. Date was determined by the codes on the two matching original Jensen C12Q speakers (220708) and pot codes (1376701). All the tubes are branded Silvertone and original to the amp with one exception. One of the 12AX7 tubes is a Silvertone from my personal stash. The three preamp 12AX7′s are made in Holland, so Bugle Boy Aperex tubes branded Silvertone? All USA, and HOLLAND made tubes, that test strong on my Hickok 6000a tube tester. This amp is nicer than most of the 1484′s I see for sale. TREMOLO and REVERB, BOTH WORK. The speakers have been professionally reconed and probably do not have 10 hours of play time on them. One of the tube sockets has been replaced (reverb driver). This thing sounds incredible. EVERYTHING works and it includes the footswitch. Clean controls, no scratchy pots. The reverb is just as wild and wacky as everyone says about it. AND YOU GET TO HEAR IT FOR YOURSELF. This amp is so original, the speaker cord is still attached to both the head and cab. That is the first and last time it was serviced. This is an attic find that cleaned up very nicely. There is evidence of deterioration, but for the most part well preserved. Please look at the pictures for condition. Normal aging and patina. One of the knobs has a chip. You can take this out to play a gig the day you get it. As a basic test I have operated this amp for at least 4 hours recently and it did not fail, smoke, throw sparks, blow fuses, start on fire, etc. Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet, handles, knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls. Old electronics can fail at any time. Up for sale is a terrific and hard to find 1×12 tube amp from Peavey…. As of the date of this listing, 10/24/2018, there are no other 1×12 Ultras for sale! So snag this one immediately while you still can! Reason # 1 is of course the sound you get from 2, count em’, TWO LARGE power tubes! I believe they are 6L6′s. Really makes this amp sing! It’s been stated that this unit sounds very reminiscent of a Mesa Boogie or like a precursor to the consequent legendary 5150′s that came out. Therefore, the clean sound is amazing… Super warm and round in the bass frequencies, just like a Mesa! Also makes it a great platform for your effects if you are a pedal or rack user who likes to get their distortion and/or other effects from outboard gear. The overdrive (crunch) channel on this amp is very musical. Excellent in my opinion! Start with the gain low and you can get all sorts of genres: classic rock, country, blues, etc. Go more than halfway and you’re into hard rock territory. Put the gain on 9 or dime it and you’re pretty much in convincing EVH brown sound territory…. Sounds so sweet here in this area! Want metal and/or high gain? Switch over to the Ultra Gain channel and you are easily there! With a overdrive and/or tube screamer (I’ve got a Fender Drive pedal, Maxon ROD 880, Ibanez DS10 Distortion Charger, and other dirt pedals available in my store) into this amp with the gain even less than halfway, and you’ve got that tight, focused searing sound you want when you play brutal high gain metal! It also sings nicely for solos and lead breaks! Top all of this off with a bright switche for the clean channel to liven up your dark humbucker guitar sounds, gain boost buttons for both the crunch and ultra lead channel, a power amp eq control consisting of a 3 position resonance switch , and you’ve got tons of sonic shaping options with just this one box! Also included is the 3 button footswitch that you NEED to be able to switch from the clean channel to the crunch channel as well as to be able to switch to the ultra gain channel! No reverb on this unit as the reverb tank is missing. You can easily install one if you want to. And with an effects loop put a delay pedal in there…. Rare pre-Rivera 80 or 81 (only made for two years) Fender 30 tube amp. Rebuilt it and only played for a couple hours. New grill cloth. New wood speaker plate and cloth mount, all wood reglued and restapled. New Jensen 10s. New Fender knobs. New reverb box. Retubed, footswitch rebuilt, general check over by Tonetronix in Hubbard, OH. Please inspect the photos carefully. It is still an old amp and there are imperfections. The amp faceplate behind the switches is a little warped, may have taken a hit at some point.
