Vintage Fender Champ Tube Amp
As a professional guitar player who started playing in the’60′s, this is one of my favorite amps. It’s a TUBE, it’s lightweight, and it looks like new! I got it from a Nashville sessions guitar player by the name of Charlie Chambers. Charlie had a music store in the Chattanooga area. I bought the amp about 15 years ago, and it has been in my home studio ever since. I don’t play much any more, but I have regularly kept this amp on and ready to play. The amp has a serial number or A 34180, confirming what Charlie told me, that it is a 1972 model. I checked out the Champ this morning and on Channel 2 1-10 Volume is quiet and the Treble and Bass 1-10 work as they should. On Channel 1, above 6 Volume, there is a slight hum, and I mean slight. I have priced it accordingly, after having spoken with my music store tech, who says he can fix Channel 1 with no problem. I want to be totally up front when I say that this is a totally, no-disappointment amp ready to play and enjoy! There’s nothing that beats the warmth of a tube amp!
